Had a job offer!

Initially just a 3 month trial, but we are sooooo chuffed! grin grin grin

Break a leg, Phoenix. This could be the job that's been waiting for you! flowers

Galen Mon 13-Jan-14 13:13:23

I'll be thinking of you!

Anne58 Mon 13-Jan-14 13:22:15

Thank you all!

when problem is, the job that I really wanted so badly (the last one I interviewed for) because I felt it would have been challenging but not stressful, I didn't get. sad

However, one must move on! I have a few doubts about the first one, could end up doing more cleaning than anything else (not that there is anything wrong with paid for cleaning) but I am rather drawn towards the second, partly because the chap sounded so nice, and also because I think it might be quite interesting in it's own way.

Stay focused, phoenix I'm rooting for you. smile

Elegran Mon 13-Jan-14 13:46:48

Maybe you are on a roll and will be offered both. Then you would have to choose!

Gagagran Mon 13-Jan-14 13:53:45

Hope Mr P has had a good day 1 in the new role - and comes home full of it. Presumably you sorted the transport problem out?

I think all GNs will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes tomorrow! The very best of luck - fingers and everything else pliable is bent! flowers

Gagagran Mon 13-Jan-14 13:54:15

Fingers crossed not bent!

Charleygirl Mon 13-Jan-14 13:58:39

Elegran my thoughts exactly.

The main problem is that you will have difficulty getting to both jobs as I doubt if there is much in the way of transport in your neck of the woods. Then there is the minor problem of getting home again.

London is a bit far away to give you a lift! Any local GNs?

Anne58 Mon 13-Jan-14 18:26:16

Mr P starts next Monday gaga , transport may depend on whether I get a job offer!

In the meantime, ladies, I have slightly mis-judged the timing of the hair removal cream blush, lip is looking a bit red, blotchy and sore.

If I just keep putting cotton wool pads soaked in cold water on it, will it get better?

Soutra Mon 13-Jan-14 18:28:09

Do you have any witch hazel? Try that to cool it all down, it's what my "girl" does when she waxes/tints my eyebrows!

Anne58 Mon 13-Jan-14 18:30:36

No Soutra afraid not. I think that was suggested when I had the wheelie bin incident, you'd think I would have taken it on board and got some in!

Elegran Mon 13-Jan-14 18:39:23

You could dab it with alcohol. That might cool it down. External medical use only though, the influence of internal consumption on the interview could be catastrophic.

I have not had a drop since 1 glass of cider on Saturday 5th Jan.

I would love to say that I haven't missed it at all, but that would be a stonking great humungously massive gigantic LIE

The JSA hits the bank on Wednesday, I think I will succumb.

kittylester Mon 13-Jan-14 19:37:09

(((((Hugs))))) and loads of good wishes phoenix. You deserve all the luck in the world. flowers[cupcakes]

I presu,e the drink ypu had on Jan 5th was to celebrate my birthday. wine

kittylester Mon 13-Jan-14 19:37:28

presume!!!!!!!

Gagagran Mon 13-Jan-14 20:22:04

Oh sorry Phoenix! Got my Mondays mixed up. Hope all the encouraging and positive vibes from GNs are enough to launch you both into satisfying new jobs!

I'd try soaking a pad in cold water for the upper lip problem. Better not risk anything else which might make it worse!

hummingbird Mon 13-Jan-14 21:23:28

Good lunch Phoenix, everything crossed!

hummingbird Mon 13-Jan-14 21:34:06

And good luck, too!

rosesarered Mon 13-Jan-14 22:01:20

Just found this thread Phoenix so want to add my 'good luck' too.Hope something soon works out for you, Devon is a lovely place to live but not too bursting with job opportunities. My Dh's friend is a employer and he says that what he looks for is some enthusiasm [yes, obviously to be qualified for the job as well, but often several candidates are.]

Anne58 Mon 13-Jan-14 23:22:02

Thank you all loads & loads!

Off to bed soon, lip is looking a bit better, sure will be fine tomorrow!

grannyactivist Mon 13-Jan-14 23:46:00

Phoenix you know how much we all wish you well and we'll be on tenterhooks until we hear how your interviews went. Please put us out of our misery as soon as you can. smile

Charleygirl Tue 14-Jan-14 09:34:15

Phoenix I will not be able to move because my toes are crossed also. You are most deserving of either or both jobs. I am sure that you will let us know the outcome but we are aware that the second interview is not until late afternoon and you still have to get home afterwards. We will all be waiting on tenterhooks for the result. The very best of luck.

merlotgran Tue 14-Jan-14 10:32:19

Thinking of you today, phoenix. Good Luck smile

annodomini Tue 14-Jan-14 11:13:18

Sending vibes, phoenix. I hope they reach Devon.

Anne58 Tue 14-Jan-14 16:07:43

Not long back, both seemed to go well, pros and cons with each (of course!) The second one was interviewing 4, will make a decision by the end of the week. Forgot to ask the first one how many and when blush but he did ask me if I might be able to help him with writing his autobiography! confused

Luckily I was able to move the second one forward a bit, as that was further along in the same direction as the first, and it seemed silly to go home and then out again.

Could absolutely murder a glass of wine!

The vibes, good luck wishes and PM's have been very much appreciated!
