Feeling a bit wobbly about tomorrow!

Good morning all, can't stop feeling rather apprehensive about going in for my first trial day tomorrow, the job spec is incredibly broad, and totally unlike what I have done in the past.

I know the idea is to give it a go for three days and see if I like it, (and of course if they like me) but I'm a tad worried that is going to be more housekeeping than office! (At the second interview they asked me how I felt about ironing shock )

There is also the thing about the other interview next week. I think that I will see how tomorrow goes, and then be honest and tell them that I have been invited to interview for another position and will be attending, and therefore would like to keep my options open.

Any thoughts?

Alert! Had a brief meeting with the owner re my thoughts so far etc, and also to collect money for the 3 days worked this week.

He offered me a bottle of the infamous wine, and I said NO ! (made up some excuse about alcohol free day, and if I had a bottle I would be too tempted hmm truth is the wine has been prepared for maximum alcohol content and bugger all other qualities, including taste!)

Now, speaking as someone who looks forward to a drink once the sun is over the yardarm, this may give you an indication of how I feel about his wine!

Well, I've heard of some filing systems but that takes the biscuit, phoenix. What an 'interesting' job this is turning out to be hmm

Makes sense to me! I would have loved to have studied archaeologiy and in that chronology is VIP!

Anne58 Fri 07-Feb-14 22:27:08

Galen I challenge you to make sense of it in the current, real world!
The date order for bookings, yes, obviously makes sense, but then the subdivision into villa order (as in when built, not alphabetical WHAT ?

when thank you, so very glad that it is not only me!

You could have made an interesting cocktail, phoenix. Or save it up for when you need to strip some paint. grin

About the filing system - If he is adamant on the chronological order, my first move would be to make a paper list of them in alphabetical order, with their date of construction (where they wi8ll be filed) beside them. Keep that on the desk.

Sounds very hairy.

Excel spreadsheet. One column chronological. In another column give them a number. You can sort on chronology or your own number system.

It will soon be time to get prepared for another day at the ranch. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Wednesday. Have you told your new employers yet?
