The years in the run up to retirement are so hard when you are either job hunting or stuck in a job you can't stand because mortgage/bills still need to be paid. I remember waking up every morning and thinking, Oh no, not that hell hole again. The mortgage finally got paid, I took the company I was working for to court for constructive dismissal (and won) and then, right out of the blue, landed my dream job. I ended working till I was 65 so I moved my own goalpost
Stay strong, don't let the bastards grind you down and go with your instincts. Something that's right for you WILL turn up.
