Evening all,

First day of new job tomorrow! Feeling a teensy bit nervous, but also quite excited!

It's been 2 years since I had what I might term a "proper" job, yes, I've had the odd thing along the way, but hey, here we go!

Many thanks to all of you who have been so supportive along the way, and yah boo sucks to the person who sent such an unpleasant PM yesterday!

shysal Sun 06-Apr-14 18:34:51

I am shocked about the unpleasant PM, you deserve nothing but praise for your efforts.
I have wished you luck on another thread!

Riverwalk Sun 06-Apr-14 19:00:35

Good luck for tomorrow phoenix. sunshine

As for an unpleasant PM shock - some people are just arseholes .... they can't help it!

Nonu Sun 06-Apr-14 19:03:25

Dear PhO,
after all you have been through , any one who could send an unpleasant message is not really worthy of your consideration !
Forget it !!

xx

It's about time things started going your way phoenix and I hope this is the first step towards a more rewarding (in every sense) future. I wish you lots of luck but I am pretty sure that you won't need it.

dustyangel Sun 06-Apr-14 19:18:11

Good Luck Phoenix, let us know how you get on. sunshine

I agree wholeheartedly with Riverwalk's turn of phrase. I do not understand how people can be so mean, rude and just abominable.

I think that you may need your wellies tomorrow. The very best of luck.

As I said on the other thread...Good Luck and break them in gently! grin

Adding more good wishes for you, phoenix. Take no notice of that mean-spirited person - they don't deserve to be given a second thought. flowers

Wishing you a happy day tomorrow phoenix

janerowena Sun 06-Apr-14 22:52:16

I can't understand it. Not only is you new job an entirely new one, you are not taking anyone else's, you are creating a new job for someone else to fill! Which makes you a one-woman public service. I hope you enjoy it, and get to use your brains and creativity.

harrigran Sun 06-Apr-14 23:07:20

Good luck phoenix, I wish you success and happiness flowers

Eloethan Sun 06-Apr-14 23:13:12

I am (as ever) so appreciative of all the good wishes!

Really looking forward to tomorrow, yes, the odd bit of butterflies, but I suppose that's pretty much par for the course!

I've done a bit of homework, in that I have looked at the competitors (as identified by my new Boss, I wouldn't have had a clue!) websites and spotted a few differences and made some notes.
I will have them with me, but may not bring them up unless (as I have said to another GN'er in PM) I feel that it is the right time to "bring it to the table" - there, did you see it, just practicing my "office speak"!

Although TBH I don't think I'll need that sort of thing with these chaps, have the feeling that although they may do a lot of "tech speak" (and let's face it, do they should as someone needs to actually understand what they do/make/produce confused ) I'm hopeful that the other side of it, i.e. admin etc, with a bit of a polish on the marketing side, we should be fine.

Say's she, been out of the loop for far too long, a bit of understanding re marketing via social media, not that that will be of much help in this case, quite able to identify waht needs to be changed, not the bloody foggiest idea of how to actually make the changes, hoping that the company has someone to change the things on the website, must look at new logo's etc, but not a design type person, mutter mutter mumble mumble................
