Are we elderly or middleaged.

At 67 years old with 2 grandchildren I consider myself middleaged. I still work 2 afternoons a week and lead a healthy busy life. I have a lot more energy then people younger then me. My son and his wife say I'm elderly and treat me as if I'm a doddering old fool. I've learned a lot of new skills since I turned 60, travel solo on buses and trains. Yet if I go out with them, they almost instruct me onto how to put one foot in front of another. I almost feel as as if I don't count for much .My daughter however, doesn't treat me like this at all thank goodness and finds their actions really annoying.

SORRY, SORRY,SORRY, We have visitors so couldn't join you. I have sneaked out of the room to see how things are going.
How many of you are a little "tipsy" I wonder ?
Oh no they are calling me see you later

Annobel Fri 03-Feb-12 22:37:10

Tipsy? What, us? This was a serious demo, I'll have you know, Annika wink

What happens in Hyde Park, stays in Hyde Park - we will never speak of it again (tee hee)!

You're all stark staring bonkers. (wink) As dear old Tel used to say, 'they're not all locked up yet'. Great posts, I'm off to bed in frozen France and laughing all the way up the wooden hill. Bonsoir!

grin United we stand, divided we fall

Annika Fri 03-Feb-12 23:05:03

Hope you all haven't fallen in a drunken stupor ! wink
Don't mind me I am feeling a little envious, I have missed all the fun grin

Yes you're all bonkers, but I wish I could have caught up with you! I was chasing the march, but by the time I got to No 10, you'd gone, and I never caught up last night.....

Good laugh though.

I feel terrible as I still had the tardis from our last drunken party at the Kings House Hotel. The thought of you girls having to use your broomsticks and the bus in the freezing cold British weather to get to the march, while I have been swimming in the warm sunshine at Sandgate in sunny Queensland fills me with sandness. smile

Faye Sat 04-Feb-12 07:26:12

sadness even though Sandgate is sandy wine smile

It was good fun. Up in the frozen north (and west), we are not frozen any more, so it's more like what we expect under the influence of the North Atlantic Drift, while the boiling south is getting its winter at last.

Mind you, two years ago it was towards the end of February that I "did a kitty" and totalled my car skidding on ice over a sea wall. You never can tell in good ole Blighty, except that the weather will be changeable.

Has anyone looked in the papers this morning I dont want to look...... I will just deny all knowledge grin

Oxon70 Sat 04-Feb-12 08:47:05

Snow today, glass. (Oops, sorry)
I just texted my daughter to say it's not a good idea for me to come to Oxford today.....

Carol Sat 04-Feb-12 09:28:37

I haven't seen anything yet glass. I wonder if it ended up on the editing room floor. I think we'll have to do something really outrageous to make ourselves heard! Are you alright? I was really worried when I saw you handcuffed to those railings in the freezing cold! grin

Ariadne Sat 04-Feb-12 09:33:14

A dusting of snow here already, and the sky looks a bit leaden...

Annobel Sat 04-Feb-12 09:50:53

Freezing here in Cheshire. I noticed on Thursday that the Macclesfield canal was frozen over and I don't think my thermometer has risen over zero since then. I'm hoping that the snow won't reach us...

Oxon70 Sat 04-Feb-12 09:53:59

Think I need thermal underpants.
Not the magic kind, though.

JessM Sat 04-Feb-12 10:01:41

It is minus 6 here Oxon, with snow due tea time. Good call to stay put.

Oxon70 Sat 04-Feb-12 10:14:56

Don't worry Jess I am!

Carol Sat 04-Feb-12 10:32:00

Snow this afternoon round here Annobel! Looks like it will be around for at least a day, according to the local forecast.

Glass ooer! confused As I was waiting for Butter's chariot, I decided to have a wee taster of the champagne - didn't want to let the side down if it was "off" [seeings as Bags is a connoisseur] shock. Well, as it is very mild here in Kintyre sunshine, I sort of got dozey and a trifle dizzy wink Closed my eyes and dreamt that I was marching along Downing St., and making a right royal rascal of myself blush. I awoke with a start - bottle empty - husband calling "where are you?" and realised that I'd missed the chariot.
