Phoenix it seems like "designer" bad spelling to me. I do letter reversal but these seem to follow a style I frankly don't get.

Why have some abandoned capital letters? It's one thing to do it in texts but is it too much to ask for an attempt at standard English in posts rather than text speak, even if it does contain a few typos or spelling errors and with me punctuation errors.

What do our primary teachers out there think of these language errors do they look like "normal" errors to you or is it a style.

These seem to be appearing with increasing regularity of late and follow a pattern.

Ana Thu 22-Nov-12 21:50:10

Yes. There do seem to be a few of them about at the moment. Naming no names, of course....hmm

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 22:18:25

I think the Gransnet might be getting more well known. So more people are coming on board. A cross section of society. as well as all the middle class stuffed shirts

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 22:18:57

'that'. not 'the'.

Ana Thu 22-Nov-12 22:21:27

No problem with that, jingl, not being a middle class stuffed shirt myself, but there do seem to be one or two troublemakers around at the moment.

jeni Thu 22-Nov-12 22:30:23

I think I might be what jingle is implying! But I don't care. I was born middle class!

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 22:31:31

No! You're not!

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 22:31:56

Well, you might be middle class.

jeni Thu 22-Nov-12 22:34:43

But?

Anne58 Thu 22-Nov-12 22:39:29

No, no one in the blue, but there are a couple of others I'm wondering about. Not really like me at all, I tend to like and trust until proved wrong, but there are a couple just not ringing true. and jO5 it has nothing to do with class!

Greatnan Thu 22-Nov-12 22:50:22

I thought we had got past the stage of throwing out vague accusations?
For goodness sake, if anybody has something to say about any specific members, have the guts to say it, or keep quiet. And please.....not the old device of saying something 'controversial' and then crossing it out.

jeni Thu 22-Nov-12 22:59:34

It's ok greatnan I'm just teasing jing and she knows it! I know and I think you all do that I'm not a 'stuffed shirt'! Or even a 'stuffed skirt' or at least , not for a long time!

Nelliemoser Thu 22-Nov-12 23:00:21

PMs are going off again!

Ana Thu 22-Nov-12 23:01:48

Off? confused

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:03:07

Greatnan Why do you think GN give us the option of 'crossing out' if we are not allowed to use it?

Please don't tell me what to do. Complain to GNHQ if you like.

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:03:53

jeni You know I didn't mean you.

janeainsworth Thu 22-Nov-12 23:04:29

I'm not a stuffed shirt but I am middle class.
Is that a problem jO5?

Nelliemoser Thu 22-Nov-12 23:08:09

Not Working! Kaput! B***ered! angry

Greatnan Thu 22-Nov-12 23:10:01

I have never complained about anybody - I am more than capable of dealing with things myself.
I would like to know how you define 'stuffed shirt' - does it just mean anybody who doesn't find everything you post amusing?

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:22:17

Online dictionary - "A person regarded as pompous or stiff."

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:22:52

Goodnight

annodomini Thu 22-Nov-12 23:47:12

I don't find anyone on these forums 'pompous or stiff'. So there! moon

Anne58 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:48:30

Pompous or stiff? That's at least three quarters of the goverment, and nearly all members of the local council!
