I am sorry for anyone who suffers the hot flushes- mine used to be dreadful all night, every night. When they began I was still working and after I had gone three moths without a night sleep and looked like the walking dead I asked the GP for HRT- I'm still on it. My GP has told the thinking on HRT continuing after the menopause has changed and as long as my BP is OK I can still have it (I'm 62) my mother died of Carcinomatois (long term heavy steroid use for RA) and my father Ca Oesophagus (smoking) but I haven't been asked about their history. If I do have to give it up I will give up alcohol as well as it definitely makes my symptoms worse.
How does a 'lived experience' differ from an 'experience'?
