At 35yrs old, Prince Harry has served 10yrs in the Army , fought in Afghanistan
Started the Invictus games for wounded soldiers
Walked across the South Pole
Raised Hundreds of millions for charities
Helped raise 1 billion for 9/11
Supporter of 24 Charities
Lost his mother at a young age,( as did William)
William has also been exemplary in all he does.
If he is happy with Meghan , living somewhere else , good luck to him,he deserves it.
Time to give them a little respect.

And stop demanding that they give up their private residences and private wealth.
This is not a communist state although some may wish it to be so.

And where did the wealth amassed by the monarchy come from originally. Was it earned?

I am neither a monarchist nor a communist.

A powerful and moving speech from the Duke of Sussex. Funny how his detractors will always put see the negative and not the positive.

Perhaps some should stop calling him Harry as if you are in first name terms with him.

Harry, Harry Harry ?....am sure he wouldn't mind, wanting to live an informal sort of life as he does.

He needs to stop with the ‘powerful and moving’ speeches, unless the subject is nothing to do with him or Meghan, in other words stop making everything about himself in such a self indulgent way.

Anniebach Sun 19-Jan-20 22:48:22

Nothing to do with him, his wife or his mother.

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 22:51:27

I have just had a Les Dawson moment , imagining some Grans arms folded, lips pursed as in the sketch : Saying
those well known words ‘ Ohh she’s no better than she ought to be’ . .......... it would be funny , if it wasn’t so sad, & just downright spiteful.
I am ashamed to be a female sometimes.

I think it is generally known that the Tory party is a Far Right party now. It has lost it's backbone when it threw out the good Tory MPs a few months ago to ensure the Far Right ERG would not be challenged. Britain is the only country in Europe where the Far Right has been successful. People were pretending things were not happening in Germany 1930s, we can no longer pretend our country will never be the same again after a couple of weeks.

He is pulled in so many directions. sad

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 23:10:40

I disagree endre.
Because the Conservative Party isn’t as centre as it was until a few years ago, doesn’t make it a far right Party.
Not in the generally accepted definition of far right, as most people think of it.
But be that as it may, there is no evidence that this government wants to attack our constitution and get rid of the monarchy.

suziewoozie Sun 19-Jan-20 23:12:17

There is nothing PH can say that will be acceptable to the MHers other than ‘ I was completely wrong to marry that scheming witch and I’m really sorry and HM and I now have joint custody of Archie who has been brought back to the UK by the SAS( she can keep the dogs). I will spend the rest of my life trying to make up to you all for this terrible mistake I have made. Soz’

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 23:14:00

Honestly Brid don’t go OTT about this subject!
People disagree, it’s an emotive topic, but no reason at all to be emotional or personal to posters who don’t see things your own way.

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 23:16:52

Same goes to you too suziewoozie ? amusing as your post is.

suziewoozie Sun 19-Jan-20 23:20:08

Put a sock in it yourself lemon I’ll post what and when I want- get over it.

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:20:41

Brilliantly clever Suziewoozie, & sadly in reality just about spot on .

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:22:22

Really Lemons, inverted sarcasm , I wrongly thought you better than that.

suziewoozie Sun 19-Jan-20 23:22:50

Thanks Brid I do realise neither of us should be posting of course, but hey, what the hell. ????

suziewoozie Sun 19-Jan-20 23:23:42

Did you really Brid ? Hummmm

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:24:26

‘Some Posters ‘ is general
Naming a poster is specific

Dollymac Sun 19-Jan-20 23:28:07

Over five thousand members of 'Far Right ' have joined the Conservative Party. Phillip Hammond et al saw this coming and got out, before they were tarnished with the same brush. They are a party of extremism.
I watched Harry's speech tonight and found it to be both genuine and moving.
He and Meghan have my very best wishes for their future together

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 23:29:07

Posters should be mature enough to realise that others will have different views to their own.

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:33:20

Lemongrove you yourself are using inverted tactics by implying the other person is over reacting.
It’s a dishonest put down.

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 23:34:41

No sarcasm at all Brid inverted or otherwise, just think you are becoming too emotional about what other posters have to say on the subject of H and M.Calling them Les Dawson types and spiteful grannies etc seems OTT to me.
What has happened in the RF is no small thing, and naturally people have all sorts of views on it.

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:36:31

So why say ‘ Don’t go over the top’
You could have said Do you think you are going over the top
You made a judgement, kettle & black come to mind

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:38:50

I said : I had a Les Dawson moment

Bridgeit Sun 19-Jan-20 23:47:45

You also said’ that you think I am becoming too emotional , what is that if not you making a judgement .?
Kettle & black comes to mind

rosecarmel Mon 20-Jan-20 02:23:03

So ...what happened is no small thing, and naturally people have all sorts of views on it, but thoughts of Les Dawson are off limits .. because .. ? I mean if one could place a face on some of the statements being made .. isn't applying the face of Les Dawson an act of kindness .. ?
