Where’s the snow! I’m sorry if you’ve a few inches but why the panic over a dusting?

This happens every single year.
It snows in March, and every one acts totally gobsmacked.
It also often snows in April too.

I’m in B’ness, and, apart from a few clouds at lunchtime and about 20 flakes of snow, we had brilliant sunshine. Yes, it was very cold, but gorgeous.

I was born in a snowstorm in London on this very day!
Devon is currently sleety on the coast, no doubt snow on higher ground.

A little bit here this morning in West Berkshire

FannyCornforth Wed 08-Mar-23 06:55:41

Happy Birthday Joseanne!
😘🎂🎁
I hope that you have a wonderful day! (I’m sure that you will) x

We have a good 6” here on a hill in Wiltshire, more forecast, and luckily I don’t have to go anywhere other than take DDog for a walk.

Happy birthday Joseanne
I think we'll get it later in the week but it's minus 7 here about 12 miles south of Edinburgh.
Too cold for snowgrin
My DB sent me a photo from Denmark today. We often get theirs.

BlueBelle Wed 08-Mar-23 07:36:40

No snow in East anglia cold very cold but dry
Yes it was snowing heavily here 7 years ago cos I got a reminder on FB of photos I d put on 😂

Doodledog Wed 08-Mar-23 07:45:14

We had snow yesterday and it has now frozen, so it’s treacherous out there. I have to go out tomorrow, so I really hope there was been a thaw - I hate walking on ice.

M0nica Wed 08-Mar-23 07:47:07

Just stopped snowing in South Oxfordshire. It has been snowingfor a couple of hours and we have got more than we usually get each winter, an inch or so, rather than a light frosting.

dragonfly46 Wed 08-Mar-23 07:49:06

Wher are you Doodledog?

Hetty58 Wed 08-Mar-23 08:00:33

Nothing here until 5 am, then a quick shower of big, wet snowflakes, settling on grass, roofs and cars - but melting on paths and roads. Now we have light sleet (my grandson calls it tiny wet snow) in NE London/Essex. Surely, the schools will be open?

Hetty58 Wed 08-Mar-23 08:03:03

Doodledog, I have to go out tomorrow too, so have my shoe spikes ready. My neighbour swears by wearing old socks over her shoes for grip!

NannyJan53 Wed 08-Mar-23 08:16:48

It is snowing here too in the Black Country. Light dusting at 7am, but now quite heavy

You are right Fanny it often snows in March, remember Beast from the East in 2018 I think it was? That was in March, we were practically snowbound here as we live on a hill and it was treacherous to walk out.

Grammaretto Wed 08-Mar-23 08:22:19

Oh yes BlueBelle FB reminds us. Just as well perhaps.

You mustn't be that far from me.

Snow here in Somerset, and further south. The M5 is down to 2 lanes and going slow because the white lines are invisible

Patsy70 Wed 08-Mar-23 09:01:27

A couple of inches here in London/Kent border, but it’s thawing quite quickly. 🤞

ExperiencedNotOld Wed 08-Mar-23 09:06:30

Spoke too soon! We’ve around three inches in rural Wiltshire. Keep safe all!

Mollygo Wed 08-Mar-23 09:14:54

Schools closed in and around Basingstoke and Andover because of snow, then 2 days of NEU strikes. I wonder if striking teachers will say they’re working if the schools are closed, to avoid losing pay.

Mollygo Wed 08-Mar-23 09:15:50

Sorry-that’s if it’s still snowing next week.

Grannybags Wed 08-Mar-23 09:23:14

Woke up to about 2" here near Bristol

My son was born on 1st May and it snowed that day!

Jaxjacky Wed 08-Mar-23 09:26:46

Winchester, 7 miles north, all gone now where we are.

BigBertha1 Wed 08-Mar-23 09:29:05

Nothing here in Cheshire. Very cold though but I don't expect much in March.

We helped my MIL to move from up north to Devon in May and it snowed (deep snow) that year too.
