I was lucky to win this book from a gransnet giveaway and it arrived today. I've spent a pleasant hour looking through it and there are quite a few recipes in it that I am looking forward to trying for example chicken Kiev, halibut in garlic breadcrumbs, pork and ginger stew, and quite a lot of the home baking recipes. I like how it has been divided into sections: breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, baking and finally, preserves. There don't seem to be loads of ingredients for each recipe and they seem straightforward to follow. It is nicely illustrated and there are occasional notes about her Icelandic and Irish heritage and the recipes she shares are based on these roots. Can't wait to give some a try! Thank you gransnet team for this book. smile

Surprised when mine arried today, had forgotten all about entering. Had a quick look at lunch time, lovely book, as Mapleleaf says useful divisions and very clear instructions, just what I need. Thank you GN, really pleased to have this one, its more than the average recipe book.

I was so happy to win a copy of this beautiful book. I love Rachel Allen's books and have several on my bookshelves.
The artwork is lovely especially the family photos. The recipes are sensible and so easy to follow as always and I know I will be choosing something to cook from this excellent book for the next family gathering.
Thank you Gransnet and thank you Rachel!

Sorry, but just to share this recipe from my own mother:
1. Boil the kettle
2. Pour water on to the gravy granules
3. Stir

I was very pleased to receive a copy of this lovely book. I like the way it is divided into sections and some of the meals look very enticing. I enjoyed the notes and photos of Rachel's Icelandic and Irish heritage. Thank you Gransnet team for the book.
