Crimson, I can`t remember all the names, but it WAS a long time ago. The one I was on was recorded towards the end of May, and transmitted on July 4th, if that`s any help? There was an Indian gentleman called Raj, or something like that, and a young (very good looking)man called Glen. There was a tall man in a red shirt who was a civilian worker with the police force, I think in Nottingham, and another man in a red shirt and white suit.

Happy to be in bed; got a headache, stinging eyes, runny nose, sore throat, bad cough..............oh woe is me! The Wonderful Man cooked for me last night and has been making sure that I'm not doing too much - but he's just getting over a cold and going to be so upset that he's given it to me. Time for a little nap now I think. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

GoldenGran Wed 22-Feb-12 12:01:31

super yes it will be lovely, and yes the hallwnd stairs are looking a bit shabby...hmm

whatisamashedupphrase Wed 22-Feb-12 11:58:05

granny-a, You really must rest more. And keep indoors in the warm.

Sorry to nag.

whatisamashedupphrase Wed 22-Feb-12 11:57:13

I don't do a lot of planning. To be honest I'm quite happy to curl up with my book/kindle. But things do seem to happen. Apparently, this pm I am going shopping with DS for kitchen knives (for his kitchen, of course hmm)

I wonder who will pay. No I don't. I know. hmm

supernana Wed 22-Feb-12 11:55:50

Golden How comforting to enter a freshly decorated room. smile After which, I usually think hmm the paintwork in the bathroom looks a little shabby...then there's the hallway, kitchen, sitting room...blah blah sunshine

Poor GA take care.I'm not planning this week, DH suddenly decided that this was the week to decorate the bedroom, so , after having put our house back together again after th burglary, it now looks under attack again! However I shouldn't complain, he does get on and do these things.Unfortunately I seem to have developed an allergy to the paint, my eyes are streaming and stingy. OK I've moaned enough,I'm off sunshine

supernana Wed 22-Feb-12 11:31:05

grannyactivist Poor you. You must be feeling wretched. A nice warm bed is the best place for you. Hope you get well very soon. thanks

grannyactivist Wed 22-Feb-12 11:23:42

My week isn't quite going to plan.

thanks to you all for kind and thoughtful messages. I'm about to pack the bag[s]...a joyous moment.
Glamma I'd love to join you on the 4x4 broomstick. We would have such fun grin
Greatnan Caron was a delightful girl. She lived in Fowey in Cornwall and was a regular customer in the lovely wee shop which I managed. Her dear Mum, Gloria Hunniford, was also a regular visitor and we had some fun times together. smile

glassortwo Tue 21-Feb-12 18:59:31

super enjoy your break with your little man thanks

Greatnan Tue 21-Feb-12 18:52:32

I was invited to appear on After Five with the lovely Caron Keating, who very tragically died at 41. I was supposed to represent glamorous grannies. I was an absolute idiot and cannot bear to look at the video. The show was live, and my contribution was toe-curlingly awful. In an attempt to appear confident and relaxed, I came over as conceited and pompous.
Never again.

glammanana Tue 21-Feb-12 18:13:26

supernana Fame is sure to come your way if you had PMd me I could have given you a lift on the new 4X4 broomstick it has not had a trial run as yet, lol.Enjoy your time with your little man bet he will be cuddled to an inch of his life if you are anything like me.thanks

I know what you mean supernana. When I was picked to go on Fifteen to One 15 years ago, I was scared stiff, thinking of the audience I`d heard clapping on the programme. Imagine my relief when I arrived to find that it was canned applause!

supernana Tue 21-Feb-12 16:49:24

number and GoldenGran...I'm all of a blush. When I took a wee peek at the show and saw that there was an audience, I was really thankful not to have been included. Many people assume that I'm brimming with confidence - whereas, in fact, the opposite is true.

GoldenGran Tue 21-Feb-12 15:44:49

I think you will be famous super you are already read by thousands in that magazine that you wrote fpoor. A Gransnet icon! smile

numberplease Tue 21-Feb-12 15:10:59

Oooh supernana, you would have been famous! If anything similar comes up in the future, don`t forget to let us know in plenty of time!

supernana Tue 21-Feb-12 13:55:09

numberplease Indeed I shall smile

I could have been on the Alan Titchmarsh show this afternoon. My son [the new editor of a magazine read by ladies] told me yesterday, that the programme wished to interview me re an article that I'd written and had published on "life below stairs"... After talking with a very nice lady from the show, it appeared that I would need to be in London by mid-morning. Out of the question. We live on the west coast of bonnie Scotland. Had second phone call today...my son wishes me to agree to a telephone interview for the AT show. Rush home from Bleak House, suitably dishevelled and reeking of lavender furniture polish and brasso. Nice lady thanks me for being a good sport. However, at short notice, the Duchess of Rutland, in person, will be taking my place. wink I feel part relieved. I could have become awfully tongue-tied blush and, how on earth would I cope with the paparazzi camping on the beach and watching my every movement through tele-photo lenses? grin

Have a lovely time with your little grandson Supernana.
