Susie Godwin has mentioned us in The Times this morning. She says we are racy! grin

shock !!!!!!

That's Geraldine's fault.

All that lube stuff she goes on about! hmm

I wish it wasn't behind a firewall.

ps I think either Justine or Cari might have connections with the Times. It has always been that paper that features MN. wink

I meant Godson of course!

She was answering a question of the etiquette of dating at 60 and said "I recently did an online webchat on Gransnet and, goodness, the questions were racy"

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 03-Mar-12 11:56:03

Oh yes! I've just looked at that web chat again.

And she's calling us racy!!!! shock

I learned stuff that day I never knew about before. hmm

Zephrine Sat 03-Mar-12 12:05:55

Hmm... I'd better go and have a look, I might learn something too grin

My father had a book called the sexual life of savages! I was reading it from about. 8. Fascinating! I still have it. It's famous in our family as it is a thick weighty tome that can be used as a weight, press, or to prop a mattress up if the head or foot needs raising!
If you had read that * jingl*

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 03-Mar-12 12:35:41

Or you could whack a ganglion down with it jeni. grin

jeni Sat 03-Mar-12 12:37:51

It has been used for that as well. But the old family bible was usually used as it is thicker and heavier!
I prefer the modern tequnique of pressing very firmly!

Great title. there were quite a few books like that weren't there - titillation for the educated man. A midwife friend had one that was supposedly an anthropological mega text that had more boobs than the daily star. though more varied in shape. in the star they all look as if they were just unwrapped from identical boxes. hmm

Annobel Sat 03-Mar-12 13:04:25

Is it available on Amazon?

jeni Sat 03-Mar-12 13:04:29

No!this was a serious work . Pre Margaret mead.

gracesmum Sat 03-Mar-12 13:14:58

Could I download it on my Kindle? But that wouldn't be much use for ganglions would it smile

How funny grin Suzi was the one who introduced the idea of the sex furniture. Personally, I was too innocent to know such things existed.

jeni Sat 03-Mar-12 13:23:30

Ha ha ha!

JessM Sat 03-Mar-12 13:24:38

not even a teensy bit titillating . damn. like those highbrow semiclad nudes in the art world. Damn. those early anthropologists were a phenomenon weren't they. Off to the jungle to quiz savages about their sex lives!

jeni Sat 03-Mar-12 13:27:26

Some of them were quite odd! A bit like us reallygrin

absentgrana Sat 03-Mar-12 13:31:04

Actually, when you think about it, sex is odd and pretty funny too. grin

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 03-Mar-12 13:31:30

Yeeees........ I know! grin

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 03-Mar-12 13:32:10

that was to jeni btw. (although I do agree with absent) grin

jeni Sat 03-Mar-12 13:36:04

Not just yhe anthropologists though. How about people like Hester Stanhope and Gertrude Jekyll?

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 03-Mar-12 13:54:04

Gertrude Jekyll?! She was just an innocent gardener, wasn't she? shock

jeni Sat 03-Mar-12 13:57:05

Innocent my foot but I got the name wrong. The bossy old git who created Iraq ,was who I meant. Mental block. Senility you knowsad
