jeni there is a book called Please Look After Mother by a Korean author and it is being discussed by The Times book club(their own reviewers) and although there are widely differing opinions each Saturday each reviewer ends up saying he or she rang or saw their mother. send you daughter a copy(by Kyung-sook Shin) also the supportive messages have a precedent during and after the WWII in a book I'm reading"Can any Mother help me?" edited by Jenna Bailey and is a very charming prototype of Mumsnet/Gransnet by snail mail. Interesting to see that plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose-I don't do accents and rarely punctuate
