Happy Christmas Gagagran. Hope your DH is on the mend soon .

Gagagran Mon 25-Dec-17 20:24:38

We have had to return home early as DH (who is seldom ill) has gone down with my feverish cold of last week and was obviously struggling at DS's. He managed a small Christmas dinner then quietly whispered to me that he wondered if they'd mind if we went home as he was feeling grim. So we packed up and of course they didn't mind being more worried about him. We are safely home, he is in his pjs with a cup of hot milk (his cure-all) and ready to enjoy our own beds again!

That said, the dreaded M25 yesterday was a doddle. Tonight it was dark and wet with gusty winds and busy with cars - no lorries. Not a nice journey back but we managed and we enjoyed seeing our lovely family and sorry we had to cut it short.

I truly hope all those struggling managed to have a pleasant day or at least a bearable one.

Happy Christmas one and all.

Yes there are Applegran. Take a look at the meetup forum www.gransnet.com/forums/meet_ups_where_are_you and make a suggestion of time and place to suit you if there isn't a nearby meetup planned.

Happy Christmas everyone! I'm lucky to be with DD and DGC - just walked happily in the rain, with lots of jumping in puddles. Had an email wishing me a happy day from a friend with mild dementia, who lives alone, and it's made me think all over again how lucky I am. Maybe Gransnet gives people who might otherwise be lonely, a much needed link with others. Are there Gransnet get togethers ?

Allsortsofbags what a lovely message.

Merry Christmas to all on GN and to those having a difficult time, including due to family estrangement or troubles, peace be with you and think of love and happy times that have been had, not the pain of present.

Here's hoping that in 2018 all estrangements and troubles lift.

Merry Christmas everyone. We are staying with the (fit)family. Just come back from a 10 mile walk on Christmas morning. The dinner is mid afternoon. A bit much walking, tomorrow I shall say no.

NannyTee Mon 25-Dec-17 13:30:06

Happy Christmas to everyone on GN. Having my first glass of prosecco. Needing it before the mayhem. It's windy and partly sunny here in the NW. Have a peaceful day.

Happy Christmas to all you Gransnetters, especially those of you who are spending Christmas on your own. One daughter in New York and the other in Copenhagen, so it's just my husband and me at home having a quiet time and lots of food and presents. Have been to church, so we can settle in and relax.

Festive greetings to Kitty Greyduster and all my GN pals.

Already been playing football on a cold wet play area to wear the kids out, and Me, whilst the turkey is roasting away.

Feel a glass of Prosecco coming on ?

Have a happy day everyone.

A happy and peaceful Christmas to all GNs. We have just returned from mass, feeling deep waves of nostalgia, quite misty eyed during "Away in a Manger". However, back home now with a glass of Proseco hubby is cooking scrambled eggs to go with smoked salmon his culinary contribution at Christmas. Turkey is in the oven and should be ready 3.30ish

Peace and Blessing to you all.

May you have a day of love. Be that the Love you see today or the memory of Love you've known in the past.

My you hold the good memories close and for a while let the sad memories take their leave.

Lupatria Mon 25-Dec-17 11:26:50

merry christmas to one and all from a damp dorset - thank goodness it's warm and dry indoors.
presents unwrapped - everyone had a good haul - and it's time for a quiet time before we get into the rush for christmas dinner.
