Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, misty/foggy conditions but dry here in Brackley this morning.
Usual Day out to Bicester and Buckingham.
I need to buy a 10m ethernet lead so I can go wi-fi on my other printer.
Plus hoping there is a Flea market in Buckingham , the weather seems to control this weekly market.
Have lunch in Buckingham, all day breakie for a change.
Mick

Good morning from a clear by VERY frosty Aberdeenshire. Had a lovely fish and chips supper with friends at the golf club last night, lots of laughter and blethers.
Had a rotten sleep...woke just after four thirty, made a cup of tea and it was stone cold beside the bed this morning!
Am planning another long walk with the mut...he does love meeting all his mates in the woodies and having a good chase. He will need his cosy jacket today.
Marydoll, I haven't heard "sweetie wifie" for years, not since I was training in what remained of the Gorbals....must remember it!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a very cold and frosty NE coast.

Well I was warned not to get too excited about slight improvements on Thursday and boy were they right .

Yesterday was one of the worst days by far. They reduced the sedation right down in the morning and what resulted was about 8 hours of absolute hell. Lots of fist banging, grasping the air for things he could obviously see but weren’t there, legs kicking out, pulling at everything in sight and horrible groans through the tracheostomy. All with me trying to hold his hands, stroke his hair and reassure him by repeating the same things over and over in the hope that he would hear my voice. It was agreed that he would be fully sedated again at 4pm . Which was about as much as I could stand.

I don’t think I have cried as many tears in the entire month that I cried yesterday. I am so frightened that the man I knew and love has now gone forever.

We are now into week 5 and I’m not sure how much longer I can go on like this. I am slowly cracking up.

I don’t think I will post for a while now unless I really do have some positive news to share.

Thank you everyone for being so kind and understanding. Thank you for PM’s (I always read them but rarely get chance to reply) good wishes and prayers.

Love to all
Gilly xx

Good morning a frosty start in Bristol, it has clouded over now but there is still a very cold wind, as my mother always said its a lazy wind it does not go round about you but straight through you.
Waiting excitedly for my daughter to arrive with the DGS its been three weeks since we last saw him. we are all going out to my sons later hopefully for a nice walk and tea at their house, the other DGC are so excited that the baby is coming for a visit.
gillybob I cant express how sorry I am for you in this terrible time my thoughts are with you flowers.
I hope everyone else has a peaceful day.

merlotgran Sat 09-Nov-19 09:20:51

So sorry your nightmare is continuing, Gilly. I wish there was more I could do than just send a brief message of support.

Thinking of you.

Lisagran Sat 09-Nov-19 09:24:03

Gilly - so sad to read your post today - such a disappointment for you after a few steps forward. Not surprising that you feel as you do. The hospital have said to you that your husband was / is very ill - are they not providing any support for you? A knowledgeable, listening ear? You must really, really need a break and some nurturing. I hope yesterday was a blip and that your husband continues to improve. And I hope you can find ways to look after yourself. Thinking of you xx

Beechnut Sat 09-Nov-19 09:24:05

Please do the best you can gilly to look after yourself. I will continue to think of you both even if you don’t feel like posting.

Oh gilly. You must be truly exhausted. Sleep or at least rest when you can. I wish with all my heart I could help. Sending love and a hug seems so inadequate. Thinking of you all. flowers.

Good morning from a chilly but bright Durham County.

I rarely post but I often follow this thread and read in awe of the amazing women on here and how they deal with whatever life throws at them, often with a touch of humour attached to some challenging events in their lives.

My heart goes out to Gilly at this most stressful time. It's wonderful seeing so many people showing such love and concern for her and her DH. I hope and pray that once they get through this nightmare a brighter future will emerge.

conor Sat 09-Nov-19 09:33:37

Oh gilly you poor poor thing, I am so very sorry to read your latest update. I can’t begin to imagine how hard this is for you to bear, and I don’t know how you keep going from day to day. But I pray that you will get the strength from somewhere to carry on.

Please know you are still and will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
