Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark it doe not look as if it was as frosty as yesterday morning.
Quiet day today for me do some packing, as I am off on a short break tomorrow morning until Friday to Bournemouth , a festive break as opposed to a turkey and tinsel .
The TV situation as not changed , seems as though a part is needed so myself and others suffer another day without TV .
We have had electrocutions in rewiring , new lighting and smoke alarms plus new ceiling panels , which have covered over trap doors for TV cabling.
Hoping before I leave after 1030 tomorrow something has been done , but otherwise it will be when I get back will I have TV then .
Mick

Why should anyone reply to anyone Rufus if they dont want to. Mick clearly doesnt want to reply - take a hint.

Stop hectoring for goodness sake - its verging on bullying.

Rufus2 Mon 02-Dec-19 09:55:15

perhaps he doesn’t feel the need to join in discussions
No need for it to concern you
MawB; You don't give up!! winkThere's even less need for you to be concerned other than your penchant to interfere' but I was wondering when you would put in an appearance in your clucky mode to defend Mick, as if he needed defending.
He can put an end to this with a few keyboard clicks1 But why he does not want to enter discussions, as you suggest, beats me. I don't believe you. Why is he here, other than to open up.?
We are strongly encouraged to participate in outside activities such as hobby courses, social discussion groups, bus trips with others, not necessarily all "oldies", computers etc. Our social workers call it "social inclusion" and mostly free! I'd be devastated to lose it. [saOoRoo

Scottish mother bears nobody any animosity. We Scots are not like that.
Please come off it MawB! You could have fooled me! I've had more insults from your compatriots and been thrown off more threads by being "reported" than you care to remember! grin Claiming the moral high ground now perhaps shows you've repented, but please don't forsake our verbal jousting!
I've always found it stimulating and enjoyable; keeps my grey cells active! hmm

Why do you have it in for me Megs36?
Have I ever upset you?
And if you have a problem with me, is it too much to ask you to address me directly and not talk about me behind my bank?
Do you stop to think of the effect this sniping can have on a person?
Is this the friendly caring world of Gransnet hmm

Megs36 Mon 02-Dec-19 09:08:30

Fat gran.....so there.......

MawB Mon 02-Dec-19 08:22:43

I think your impression is wrong, however, could we please leave this?
Your jibe, which you admit referred to me was both rude and unnecessary.
The “Good Morning” thread is not the place for backbiting or snippy comments such as you have made.
Stir-Up Sunday is behind us.

fatgran57 Mon 02-Dec-19 07:51:52

What would you call the posts you made to Rufus2 then if not unpleasant? I have noticed over a long period that you always are less than pleasant to him and it has made me feel uncomfortable. .As always I wait for you to have the last word. By the way - my parents were married and I am not your enemy smile

MawB Mon 02-Dec-19 07:38:13

These must be the first unkind posts I have ever come across on what is usually a friendly and welcoming thread.
Despite what you claim, and I cannot imagine what you hope to gain from stirring, I am sure the Scottish mother bears nobody any animosity. We Scots are not like that. smile

Megs36 Sun 01-Dec-19 22:58:19

Fat gran, Don’t think she likes anyone with an opinion!

fatgran57 Sun 01-Dec-19 22:54:46

Rufus2 I wondered when the scottish mother would give you a serve again - she doesn't like you does she? grin I have also wondered why Mick never respond after he posts. Seems a bit odd to me also.

NfkDumpling Sun 01-Dec-19 18:43:59

Rufus I think I have seen Mick pop back to the Good Morning thread, but only very early on. And I have occasionally seen him on another thread. But very rarely. Perhaps he only comes back on when he has nothing else to do. You may be in with a chance now the telly’s not working properly!

Megs36 Sun 01-Dec-19 16:51:26

Hi to Rufus, don’t think Mick ever answers anyone so sure it's nothing personal, very odd though. Lots of others get involved in conversations/arguments as we know!!

Auntieflo Sun 01-Dec-19 16:15:28

EllaKeat, flowers for you] and hope things start to look better soon.

Also best wishes to Notagranyet1234 and well done you.

Good afternoon all. Enjoying my first weekend as a 9 to 5er. I took a temporary job in retail to pay my bills, following 5 years at university (my mid life crisis consisted of successfully completing a biochemistry BSc hons, immediately followed by an MSc. New graduate me, was aged 54 and curiously no one wanted to employ me) so only got one weekend a month off.
Last Monday I finally started my first professional job (after over 80 applications in the last 2 years) following university. I am so grateful for the opportunity and the working hours and salary help tremendously too. I will finally be able to get some routine back rather than working shifts that included all Bank Holidays unsocial hours with no extra money and little flexibility for my caring duties.

Hello everyone from a sunny, but bitterly cold Durham.

Having an up and down sort of day today, not a happy bunny at the moment, so enjoying reading everyone elses news (particularly Marydoll atm), to take my mind off my own woes?

Hope things continue to improve for Gillybob.

Please be kind to each other?

MawB Sun 01-Dec-19 14:35:13

The problem lies elsewhere and that concerns me, because Mick doesn't seem to interact with anyone even in open forum
Why should he Rufus2 ?
We are all different and perhaps he doesn’t feel the need to join in discussions.
No need for it to concern you.

Rufus2 Sun 01-Dec-19 13:12:06

Maybe Rufus2 Mick doesn’t want to interact with anyone else, it looks like it’s more your problem than his
Nanny What on earth is that supposed to mean? If Mick doesn't want to "interact" with me, or anyone else it appears, I'm sure he has the good manners to tell me and I will completely understand.
Why should that be my problem? angry

Como2020 Sun 01-Dec-19 12:59:02

Good afternoon and hello to all from the Somerset/Dorset borderlands.

Wishing the gillybobs continued improvement ?

Took a hearty walk up to the top of Glastonbury Tor this morning. Perishing wind, but a fantastic sky made it worth while.

Nannylovesshopping Sun 01-Dec-19 12:58:53

Maybe Rufus2 Mick doesn’t want to interact with anyone else, it looks like it’s more your problem than his?

Rufus2 Sun 01-Dec-19 12:42:15

maybe mick doesn't read his pms and likes to only interact on an open forum
Kitty; Thanks for your reply, but in fact the situation is quite the opposite. I only use PM if the topic is really personal such as medical chat, so I've never PM'd Mick and it shouldn't be necessary.
The problem lies elsewhere and that concerns me, because Mick doesn't seem to interact with anyone even in open forum, but all may be revealed in the fullness of time!
Thanks again.

Hi everyone, it’s now early afternoon, I just seem to get so busy with the dinner the morning just flies, it’s nice & sunny here on the east coast of Ireland but cold . Today I am cooking a nice ham in the oven with mushrooms, carmalised onions & Brussel sprouts . This will be the last Sunday dinner with DS & 2 grandchildren until way into January, oh I will miss these loves in my life but at least I will have FaceTime.
I hope everyone has a nice day .

Kalu Sun 01-Dec-19 11:40:59

Good morning from a sunny but very frosty Glasgow which is actually a very scenic view......from my window?

Just taking things slowly getting the house ship shape again after decor etc. We keep putting off rehanging paintings etc. So I have been wandering around hoping to find tiny holes where picture hooks were previously ? ?

Hope everyone’s day goes well, especially for you gilly?

Hope all has settled down for you now Marydoll and you can relax and enjoy your trip after what was a nightmare of a journey. Why am I humming, ?Start spreading the news?.... Marydoll’s in town ?
