Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet here in Brackley this morning, having a nice quiet day today .
Will watch some cycling on TV later , Yesterday, my favourite stall holder at the flea market was not at Buckingham yesterday mind you blustery conditions as many of stalls have no canopy as to cover.

A sad morning for us crowd. Poor EllaKeat and to have had to de register along with all she had to contend with too. She knew she didn’t have long and yet was so brave. My condolences to her family.

Oldgaijin is on all our minds as she holds a special place in our hearts. Thank you for lighting a candle on behalf of us all Marydoll that’s a lovely, comforting gesture to have done.

And dearest gillybob you are in our thoughts a lot. You seem to have been left holding the baby. I hope you both had a better sleep last night and that your husband’s new meds are making a difference. What about your sinus infection - did you get it sorted?

I’m enjoying a cuppa in bed made by me as my husband is still snoozing next to me. He can make my second one though and some buttered toast ha! Payback for his lie in.

He’s taking our grandson to his indoor cricket coaching session this afternoon. Other than that we have no plans. We might eat out en famille later, we’ll see.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all especially those with worries, whether we have plans or none. x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where the gales have blown away and the birds are singing to herald a better day?
It's mild here but maybe the heating is on high.
I was sad to read about EllaKeat too. She wasn't very old at all and sounds such a wonderful person who will be sorely missed.
I would like a quiet day today. The calm before the storm as we have a busy week ahead.
Praying for better news from the Gillybobs
Sending best wishes to all of you.

About to embark on the quite lengthy task of getting DH up and ready to face the day but need to dry my hair first.

Nothing planned apart from DH watching the rugby this afternoon so might make the marmalade which has been waiting for several days.

Thoughts with our usual people who are having a rough time.

Sark Sun 02-Feb-20 09:02:56

Hello grandmaof2
Congratulations on your baby granddaughter
Hope you're having lots of cuddles

Grandmaof2 Sun 02-Feb-20 09:06:03

Hello Sark Thank you. Am having more than my fair share of cuddles. They are all living with me for the time being, I get home from work then take over baby duties to give my daughter a rest. Her bf not too much help. Im loving it though, never had much time with my other granddaughter this young

Good morning everyone from a damp Northampton. At least the wind seems to have dropped after yesterday.
Sark, once the DCs had left home, my dear DH brought me breakfast in bed every Sunday. How I do miss him. Every other day of the week I used to bring him a tea, but that was my treat on a Sunday. Happy memories.
Really enjoyed the new Star Wars film yesterday, I felt it was one of the best and was even a bit tearful at the end, knowing it was the last of the saga. Silly me!
Nothing planned but a day in today so will take it easy, reading the papers and of course watching rugby this afternoon.
Thinking of everyone who has sadness and worries to bear.

Mythbirtthedragon Sun 02-Feb-20 09:35:45

Good morning from east London, rain has stopped, it’s mild and hopefully it will stay that way when I wander off down the road to do some food shopping. DD and family are coming over later and I have offered a meal. We brought about 4 bags of charity shop clothes away from Southend yesterday, most of which needs washing. I do like to see DP busy. I feel like I should start a thread on the different ways LAs do recycling; here just about everything goes into one bin; Southend, feels like a different coloured bag for every category.
There’s a lot of sadness within the posts today; however, like you, Grandmaof2, my second GD is almost 4 weeks now and the photos DD has sent me of her smiling and giggling reaffirms the bright side of life. Have the best day you can

EllanVannin Sun 02-Feb-20 09:35:48

Good Morning All x.
Dull and damp and looks as though there's been quite a rainfall during the night, though I wouldn't have heard a bomb going off let alone rain as I'd slept heavily last night. Sheer mental exhaustion I suspect with the brain working overtime and having my GGD here too.

A bit of tidying up is in order but nothing too drastic, then dinner to prepare later.

I was saddened to hear of Oldgaijin and also the latest sadness of EllaKate. This time of year isn't the nicest at all.

The poor Gillybob's are still suffering too, it must be 6 months that Mr G has been ill now, all for the sake of an op. that would/ could now have been over and done with, I can't understand it at all. Yet no time or expense is spared for bringing back citizens ( in a hospital near me ) with more to follow.

Have a peaceful Sunday whatever you do. Thoughts to those who have illnesses xx

EllanVannin Sun 02-Feb-20 09:40:11

Grandmaof2, welcome. This is such a lovely forum.

conor Sun 02-Feb-20 09:42:02

Good morning from a damp but brightening Essex. A lot of sadness on here today and going to my dear friend's husbands funeral tomorrow. A day no-one wants to happen but we go to support each other. Going to my DS today for lunch with DGSs and my DD and her partner will be there as well. Then home in time for Dancing on Ice and Call the midwife. My favourite TV night. Hope everyone has the best day they can xxx

gillybob Sun 02-Feb-20 09:46:59

Good morning from the NE coast where yesterday’s high winds have died down.

DH had his usual disturbed night which means neither of us get very much sleep, I’m just hoping and praying that we can get this new infection under control before the planned date of his operation .

I have an early app with the GP tomorrow as I have taken the last of another very long course of antibiotics and my nose and face are throbbing again. Just what I need at the moment . Still no appointment for a specialist .

Congratulations on your new baby granddaughter grandmaof2 and welcome to Gransnet smile

As others have said there is a lot of sadness around our lovely Good Morning thread lately. Upset to learn that EllaKeat has passed away and thinking too of OldGaijin sad

I have always thought of Sunday as being Monday eve and never seem to enjoy it for what it is (a day off) for worrying that tomorrow is the dreaded Monday and it all starts again. Wish I could win the lottery, not a greedy amount but just enough to be able to retire . I know there are probably thousands of others who feel the same .

Thank you for lighting the candles Marydoll my late grandma always lit candles in church for the family.

Just noticed the date is 02-02-2020 ! Good eh? smile

I hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Love Gillybob xx

Good morning from NE, weather is grey and damp.
DS and GD2 are visiting this afternoon, I haven't seen them since New Year.
Thinking of all with sickness and troubles, too many at present.

Bellasnana Sun 02-Feb-20 10:13:56

Good morning from Malta where it is a lovely day. I just nipped out to the corner shop as I had run out of milk, and it is warm, sunny and no need for a coat.

I’m very sorry to see more sad news on here, and I’ve just had a sad message from my friend whose husband was killed in an accident just after Christmas. She’s in UK with her family but says she feels lost and doesn’t know what to do. It’s so hard to find any words of comfort really when her life has imploded.

Anyway, lovely to hear about new babies. My niece is having a girl tomorrow by elective C section so I shall be glad to hear when it’s all over. She had a tough time having her little boy who is now 4, but hopefully it will go smoothly this time.

Thinking of you all and hoping for as good a day as possible for everyone.sunshine

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Feb-20 10:28:25

Good morning Mick and all x

It's is grey, bright and breezy here in SE Essex.

Mr.Gravy and I are going out for a late Sunday lunch later, so that is something to look forward to.

Welcome grandmaof2 and congratulations on your new GC.

Thinking of oldgaijin, gillybob and EllaKeats family.

Mapleleaf Sun 02-Feb-20 10:32:02

Good morning all,

Welcome, Grandmaof2. I think you will find the GM thread friendly and supportive.

Yes, there is a lot of sadness here today, and our thoughts are with those suffering ill health, loss and unhappiness, and thank you, Marydoll for lighting the candles. ?

It's a dull, damp morning today, but it isn't raining as hard as it was at 5 am, when it was battering on the windows. We had plans to have a run out today, but it's so miserable, my heart isn't in it, so will leave it for another time. DH will be able to watch the rugby this afternoon instead. Oh, for some brighter days!

Gillybob, I do hope that you will soon get an appointment to sort your tooth problem out once and for all, and I pray that your DH recovers from this latest infection so that he can have his op.

Well, I'd better motivate myself to get a few jobs done.

Urmstongran Sun 02-Feb-20 10:32:12

Ha! I love the date gillybob I didn’t notice! Clever.

Roses Sun 02-Feb-20 10:39:11
