Good morning all from a wet and windy Northampton.
It was another quiet day at home for me yesterday, watching rugby and reading the papers.
It is our 'neighbours' coffee morning today - we meet every month or so, taking it in turns to host; also includes ex-neighbours too, which it is today- she has moved to the other side of town, but we all keep in touch. I know there will be a good home-made cake!
Will probably do a bit of washing and tidying up when I get back.
Fingers crossed for the Gillybobs.

Morning Mick, morning All. Still grey, wet and windy in our corner of Somerset. Catch up day today, slowly as I’m in a fair bit of pain from a fibro flare up. It will pass, just slows me down. I’ve got my fingers crossed for gilly and her husband. Hope Monday is kind to everyone.

Lins1066 Mon 24-Feb-20 08:06:12

Good Morning Mick and all. Wet and wild here too on the S Welsh coast. We don't have to go out this morning thank goodness, so we will ride out this latest blast of rain and wind.

Hope that you feel better soon Marydoll, batch cooking doesn't sound like taking it easy to me, Take It Easy - or you'll be in detention.
Hope all those with hospital appointments get on well, Mr dragonfly and of course the gillybobs.

Goodmorning all from a cold and very soggy Norfolk. Where is spring? The hens have given us a bumper load of eggs this morning so a baking day ahead. Then a phone call to a lovely lady in Suffolk who breeds working boarder collies. We have decided to retire Nana our oldest girl, DH says she has developed arthritis in her back hips and is beginning to struggle at times, so medication and some time helping to train up a new pup then she can join Nanook in the retirement zone. Maggie our younger collie will love moving up to top dog. Thoughts are with the GILLYBOBS today and all who are unwell. Have a good day everyone

Good morning from the Shropshire borders where the rain is torrential.More local villages flooded and the main road into our little town now closed due to flooding.
Had an unexpected but enjoyable evening yesterday. We won tickets to Herman’s Hermits 55th anniversary tour.We went out for a lovely Thai meal first then had a couple of hours listening to the sounds of the sixties.Lovely memories of my mum and dad singing and dancing to the tunes.
We are hoping to finish the upstairs sort out today,me directing and DH sorting then a trip to the tip and charity shops for DH.
Pantglas, glad the parking advice helped.DH said the same as you re me ending up in Gobowen?
Sending good wishes toMary, dragonfly,Lins and all others with illness and worries.
My thoughts and prayers to gilly and her husband today.x

glammagran Mon 24-Feb-20 08:30:18

Wishing the gillybobs the best for today and hoping Mr G is returned to Mrs G in tip top order and she soon sees her husband and at his former best self.

Morning Mick and All.

Grey day in South Bucks.

Getting together with some old friends to play Rummykub today. Our group of 9 has now been reduced to 7 which is sad but our oldest member nearly 90 is a bundle of energy and humour so there is hope for us all.

Great to see we are sending our collective prayers and good wishes to the Gillybobs for a successful operation and recovery. ?

Good Morning to everyone from Inverness - dry this morning so far but the sky looks grey ... out soon for an easy class at the gym then popping into town for a bit of shopping
Thinking of everyone today with health problems and wishing everyone the best possible day , especially gillybobs

NanKate Mon 24-Feb-20 08:34:49

Love your story Mary of the visit from a member of your church. I wish you could do a batch cooking event for the GM thread. A spicy iced bun for me please. ?

NanKate Mon 24-Feb-20 08:36:14

50th Anniversary Elizabeth congratulations ?

Marydoll Mon 24-Feb-20 08:36:28

Oh Elizabeth, you don't know how delighted I am to see you posting! I'm so glad you are back in your own bed. ?It has made my day.
I was actually thinking about you the other day and wondering whether to contact Marelli to see how you are.
You have been sorely missed at the Edinburgh meet ups.
Take care and keep posting!

Good morning from east London, rain has eased off, bit blowy and cloudy. Playing tennis at lunchtime today, hope the floor isn’t as damp as it was on Friday as it can make things a bit slippy. Was thinking of doing some grocery shopping today but tempted to wait til tomorrow as we’ve got enough left over from yesterday’s meal to feed us again. Hope everyone has a reasonable day.

Goodmorning Mick and all x

Breezy and raining here in SE Essex.

Thinking of the gillybobs I fear that gilly will be extremely worried and scared whilst Mr.gilly is in theatre, sending a virtual hug flowers

I am off to the gym this morning, then I shall attempt Tom rearrange my wardrobes, had a major sort out last year but things seem to have gone a bit "wonky donkey" since New Year???

Take care and rest poorly Goodmorningers x

Bonjour to all from a grey and drizzly France.

We started a jigsaw last week and on Saturday morning I woke early (4am), came downstairs to make a cuppa and found 'the bit I was looking for' whilst the kettle boiled - I was still 'jigsawing' in my PJ's when the rugby started that afternoon !! smile
Jigsaw completed yesterday - PHEW!!!!
So I will be catching up on housework today after my 'slobby' weekend and am hoping that some blue sky will appear so I can at least hang some of my washing out!

Fingers crossed all goes well for the Gillybobs today and hope everyone else has a good Monday.

Auntieflo Mon 24-Feb-20 08:56:31

Good morning Michael, Annie, and all, from a dry and windy bit of Berks.

Had a lovely lunch and afternoon with DD and SIL yesterday, but driving home we had a phone call to say that DH had left his specs there. Too much faff to turn round and go back, so we will pick them up from her office, later today.

The Gillybobs have been on my mind, so hope all is going well for them today, and that MR G will soon be 'mended'.

I may try and have a go at Marydoll's. Hot X Bun recipe today. If successful I will let you know. If not, silence will prevail.

Nice to see a post from Elizabeth1, upthread, and I did see one on another thread. Well done, keep on with the good work, and Happy Anniversary, at the weekend.

Best wishes to Lins, Dragonfly, BlueSapphire, and all those who are poorly.

Mick's lovely thread is getting so big now, I am getting later to read and post so I get a bit lost as to ' who, what and where!'

Have a good day one and all.

Mapleleaf Mon 24-Feb-20 09:05:36

Good morning all,

It's a wet, miserable morning today but at least the wind has died down for now.

We're fund raising for a couple of local charities at our coffee morning today so having a cake sale and tombola stall. I hope the weather doesn't put people off from coming as we usually have a good turn out when we do them.

No snow here yet, thank goodness, but we're not a million miles from York so I suppose it's still possible, but it needn't bother in my account!?

Hoping all goes well for gilly and her DH today.

Take care all, and keep warm. Congratulations Elizabeth1 for your upcoming 50th wedding anniversary. ?

Greyduster Mon 24-Feb-20 09:09:23

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Very wet in South Yorkshire this morning but we don’t have any snow so far. I got a slightly longer walk in yesterday afternoon and am suffering a bit this morning, but it was so good to be ‘properly out’. We don’t have a lot on today except the school run later.
Elizabeth1 congratulations on your 50th! Fingers crossed today for Mr Gillybob.

Alygran Mon 24-Feb-20 09:11:14

Good morning from North Yorkshire. We have snow!
Nothing planned for today after a busy weekend. Roads are open again after the Swale broke its banks but as Oldgoat said upthread there is likely to be more flooding to come.
Hope the Leeds grans have a good meet up today.
Sending good wishes to all who are unwell or struggling. Hope the day has a good outcome for the gillybobs.
Stay warm and dry everyone.
