Good Morning Everyone,
Its going to be a nice warm day today by the looks of things.
Have now switched to more spring/summer type clothing , polo shirt and fleece jacket when going outside.
The sun is just about to arise looking out of my window, and looking across at the Brackley Town Hall weather vane, there is bit of brightness on it.
Yesterdays walk saw the bus I usually catch , and an empty street around 9 yesterday, no passengers for the bus , think they are a big looser , people maybe using them locally but it goes through villages which is a vital link to main town shops.
Mick

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, what a lovely sunny day out there already.
I went on my bike with DH in his 10mile run yesterday (I didn’t attach the dog!!) it was lovely and quiet everywhere. I will take the pooch on a walk later as my bum is a bit sore to do another bike ride!!
Baked (well, burned) some biscuits last night, burnt or not we are eating them as it was the last of my flour?
Beechnut??
Have a lovely day, people. Stay safe and here’s a big smile for you all?

Marydoll Sun 05-Apr-20 08:09:13

Oops wrong thread! blushI where am I? What day is this? lost the plot already!!!

Kalu Sun 05-Apr-20 08:11:21

??. I know that feeling well?

MawB Sun 05-Apr-20 08:14:55

Good morning all from N Bucks where Spring has definitely Sprung.
Garden again today - I weeded the borders yesterday, now a renewed onslaught with the power washer for the bit of the patio I didn’t finish before plus the front path.
DoraMarr welcome back to circulation (DizzyBlonde should be due for parole soon too) and just up the road from you my DD1 and her family are due to be out of quarantine tomorrow -DV!
Thoughts to Beechnut and to BlueSapphire last week - poignant memories I expect, these hard times don’t make it easier, do they?
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good Morning All x
Beautiful start to the day albeit a bit on the breezy side but marvellous for the washing. Windows are a bit streaky looking when the sun's on them so that calls for a wipe down too.
Oh dear, I was going to break eggs with a big stick with this " lock-in " being in force----famous last words.

Reminds me of that little ditty---" She lay beneath the stars, and basked beneath the sun, lived a life of going to do and died with nothing done "----. I need a kick up the behind !

It's gone from breezy to rather blowy out there now, oh heck, the washing will be wrapping itself around the rotary. Who cares ? Some poor beggars haven't got the privilege of an outside ! I hope they're not tempted to roam around though sad tough as it is.

Promised to dig out my ancestry folder for D in Oz as she ponders once again to fathom out who's who. Good job it's all together in one place. She's emailed a pic of a family from the early to mid 1800's and it looks like the Adam's Family grin grin---That'll keep me going !

Hope everyone's doing alright during these difficult times. I daren't think about not seeing all the children during the summer, it doesn't seem possible but I mustn't dwell on it as this is for everyone's sakes, family and beyond.

Had my navvie-type cuppa, strong enough to melt the teaspoon ! Now my stomach's growling for the crumpets.

Please stay safe and well everyone xx

Hello Ciat and a very warm welcome to this lovely gransnet site. What a long way you are from us in the U.K. the sun is shining and I’m so looking forward to having breakfast in the garden, overlooking the North Sea. BUT that bitter wind is still with us here in Suffolk. Never mind we’ll try to find a sheltered spot and wear our coats and hats and pretend we’re warm. My God daughter was due to marry in May and has postponed it til December. As you say MARYDOLL , goodness knows what the weather will be like ?. Hope you get your money back. Beechnut have a gentle day. How many years is Saphire? ?

BlueSapphire Sun 05-Apr-20 08:26:06

Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny ?morning in Northampton.

Beechnut, thinking of you on this bittersweet day and try to celebrate the happy times you had with your DH.flowers. Sapphire is 45 isn't it?

Had a visit from DDil and DGDs yesterday morning (plus dog), and we chatted and waved through the porch door glass.

Noticed I had a radiator with a slight drip of water coming from it, so went on Youtube to find out how to turn it off. Seems to have worked as it stays cold when I put the heating on. Shall get it replaced when all this is over. Keeping my fingers crossed.

There is talk of a neighbourhood socially isolated drink in our front gardens today - waiting to find out when. Then an afternoon sitting in the back garden with the cats. They enjoyed their outing yesterday afternoon.

Playing Trivial Pursuit with the family tonight via WhatsApp - if it works! Should be fun!

Hope we can all enjoy the sunshine.

Good morning and hello from the Midlands. A most beautiful morning. Do hope people will be sensible and stay at home , it must be hard if you're cooped up in a flat with children, know how lucky I am to get out there and potter, but no plants to put in.

Pittcity Sun 05-Apr-20 08:33:31

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I sat outdoors with my lunch yesterday and was regaled with chatter and laughter from neighbouring gardens. It's usually quiet around here but I'm glad to forego my peace if people are safe at home.
We have roast pork today and probably a walk.
Much love to Beechnut today and hugs for all who need them xx

Lins1066 Sun 05-Apr-20 08:34:00

Good Motning Mick and all, cloudier on the S Welsh coast and windier. Hope that people will stay away from our beaches too, the police have been stopping cars and asking if their journey is necessary for a few days. Only stiff fines will stop some idiots I fear.
Had a lovely walk in the sunshine yesterday and will go again later. DD is cooking today, I will contribute a rice pudding.
Welcome Ciat how are things in your neck of the woods?
These are for you Beechnut ??

FoghornLeghorn Sun 05-Apr-20 08:39:15

Another Essex Girl here. On the Blackwater estuary. Lovely sunny day so might summon the energy to tidy the garden. The cat hasn’t wanted to go out all winter so she might like a bit of garden time today.

moggie Sun 05-Apr-20 08:42:05

Good morning Mick & all from sunny Nottingham.
Short walk later & spend some time in the garden.
Made apple & blackberry crumble y’day, used some porridge oats with flour. Can’t get flour so trying to make what I have last.
Seabass for dinner this evening.
flowers Beechnut
Welcome Ciat
Glad your DD has re arranged her wedding Marydoll & hope you get your money back.
Thinking of all with worries or having a rough time.
flowers Gillybob.
Stay safe & keep well, have a good day everyone.

LullyDully Sun 05-Apr-20 08:42:49

Good morning from a lovely sunny Hampshire. All the runners are out, we get very fit ones these days, must be missing the gym.

EllanVannin Sun 05-Apr-20 08:44:32

I think any attempt for locals here to go on the beach will result in them getting blown into the sea, it's quite a strong wind and will be more so the nearer to the sea you are. Not what I'd call a pleasant day for beach-going, or being out really

Curlywhirly Sun 05-Apr-20 08:51:17

Good morning from our spare bedroom! Himself was snoring, (and still is) so I decamped to another bedroom for some peace ? My word, that man can sleep, I wish I could drop off as quickly as he does and he can sleep through anything - storms, TV blaring away, the dog crying; nothing disturbs him (apart from a dig in the ribs!). Anyway, it's a glorious sunny day here in Cheshire, so our dog walk will be lovely. We intend to go along the tow path which passes our younger son's house; we can have a quick chat with him (from a distance) as we pass. I did worry initially, that he would get lonely; he's a very sociable type and has a large circle of friends. But, he said he's fine. He and his friends facetime/zoom/skype (whatever!) every evening for a group chat and some banter; so they are all keeping in touch, which must help. He's a really good cook and has spent his time trying out some new dishes. I wish I had his enthusiasm, I used to love cooking, but in recent years seem to just cook the same meals. Must try harder!

Hopefully the sunshine will help to lift everyone's mood. Whywhywhy hope you manage to get outside, you did say you were struggling, get as much sunshine and vitamin D as you can. Here's hoping you and all on this thread have a worryfree and relaxing day.

Anniebach Sun 05-Apr-20 08:53:02

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

CherryCezzy Sun 05-Apr-20 08:54:22

Good morning to you all. It's sunny, warm and breezy here in the Gower today.
? Beechnut have your lovely meal and warm reflections.
Great to hear you are now on probation ? DoraMarr. Dizzyblonde has also been let out.
Welcome to GN Ciat
I don't think it's possible for you to lose your social skills Marydoll ? . They never do make things easy do they, especially when there is money involved! You should by rights get every penny back as it is actually illegal for them to withhold it. I'm rooting for you. Thanks for your kindness yesterday, I feel sorry for your friend having gone through a loss and now these added worries. Someone once told me that none of us on our own can sort out the world but together we can play our part. flowers
Had a pleasant day, all things considered, yesterday, lots of long distance chats and silly texts. Before I knew it it was nearly 8pm.
Today I expect a quieter time.
Take care and stay safe everyone ❤️

Good morning from east London, slightly cool start but sun shining now. I’ve been having an extended stay in bed, reading an old Margery Allingham crime novel; not quite PC at times (it’s a 1963 copy) but can skip over those bits. House still in a mess as the attic/basement loft swap continues; DP wants the attic to be a playroom and imagines by doing that, all the toys will stay there... There will be a walk out today, very envious of those that can get to the sea; have done lots of walking along the Southend sea front over the years. Hope everyone has a good day.

Urmstongran Sun 05-Apr-20 09:14:28

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun is shining but it is a bit chilly as yet. The Spanish government announced an extension of another two weeks to our lockdown so it’s now Day 21 here out of 43 here. It was not unexpected really. The mortality figures here are extremely high in Spain although there is talk that we may be reaching the peak of this. I do hope so.

I shall walk up and down our landing past the 6 front doors, turn and repeat. 32 steps. At least the landing faces the mountains and it’s in the fresh air, not in a ‘hotel’ corridor. Small pleasures. 3 weeks to go. I had hoped we might be allowed out for exercise but it seems not.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone. x

dragonfly46 Sun 05-Apr-20 09:17:57

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Just had FaceTime with DS and DGD. They were at the hospital last night as DGD trod on a 2 inch spike. Children’s A&E is separate there so hopefully they didn’t pick up anything.

Will try and cut the front lawn today. My neighbour offered yesterday but I need the exercise.

Beechnut flowers
Welcome ciat.

Urmstongran Sun 05-Apr-20 09:19:23

*Day 22. Good!

GabriellaG54 Sun 05-Apr-20 09:23:53

Good morning folks from a beautifully sunny 16 degrees Godalming.
I've watered plants, drunk my cappuccino and read yesterday's comments.
The cream linen jacket which I ordered from H&M arrived yesterday noon. Driver had 169 deliveries...whew! Hope I get to wear it before winter ??

Urmstongran and brook2704, thanks so much for the commiserations ? It was indeed painful but all well now ?
No more running until midweek.
Ginny42 I have some and agree, This Works, works 100%.

Grandmafrench the almond/apple pud sounds wonderful. Would you please post the recipe? Thank-you ?
My thanks also to you MawB ?? for the tips and advice. I now make sure that I have more water esp before bed and the magnesium tablets will arrive tomorrow after I described the matter to the Boots pharmacist. Sorted.

I watched that tram ride EllanVannin. a
Amazing, just like ' This is Cinerama' at Pictureville in Bradford. Memories of the old venue and famous curry afterwards in town.
I've seen it well over 30 times and now it's in a new building it's the best IMAX cinema in the world. I regularly go up to see their films. BTW, thanks for the Schweppes tonic tip. I'll def try it. ?

Gillybob yes, you're right. It will be the running but no more until Wed ??‍♀️
After reading about your leak, I hope the gas man turned up PDQ. What next for you? Could there be anything more...? ?(shakes head) ?
Last but not least Grammaretto. Thank you, yes, twas awful but I've had such good advice on here and will put it all to good use.

Here's hoping all GNers enjoy some ?? today and all of you find some small pleasures in what is a very testing time, regardless of where you are.
This can be a make or break situation for everyone in lockdown and spoiled by those fools who think it's ok to ignore the safety of the rest of us.
Take care ??

cornergran Sun 05-Apr-20 09:24:48

Ouch dragonfly, hope your granddaughter is comfortable this morning.
