Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but its grey and misty this morning in Brackley.
Another day in, one thing that I have noticed when we have had clear blue skies is the lack of aircraft and vapour trails.
As where I am seems to see some incoming Heathrow ,and maybe Luton or ones which have taken off from Brum.
Quiet day, had some news yesterday ,they are opening the only bank in the town as of next week for 2 days and 4 hours on those days.
Mick

Welcome Pame hope you enjoy this lovely thread

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. We have misty murky but it's supposed to improve.
Now I've become a gardener wink
I could do with some rain.
We are having a long lie as it's the weekend.
I am surprised that your DH hasn't had his results yet Gingster I hope that means it's nothing serious.
Hello again Sark
Hope you all have the best day possible with or without barbecued chicken. Marydoll

Good morning everyone from a very grey Essex by the sea, so different from yesterday.
I'm told we are to take the radiator off the wall in the hall so DH can paint behind it. He tells me there will be no mess !!!
Yesterday afternoon we put together two small wooden benches to go in the communal gardens here. We are very pleased with them and hope they give the older residents somewhere to enjoy the sun.
Apart from painting the hall and some ironing we have no plans for today.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. No sun in South Yorkshire today, but it’s dry. We have plants to pot up today, but nothing much else planned. I ought to try and get hold of something to cool down a curry I made yesterday or it’ll blow the top of our heads off this evening. DH likes hot curry but even he said it was a bit fierce! I might have to brave the supermarket for some coconut milk. Please don’t tell my DD!
Have a good safe day folks.

Good Morning from a cloudy but still warm Black Country.

Another day spent in garden yesterday. Need to make the most of it before the weather turns.

May bake a cake today, I found a new recipe for an Olive Oil chocolate cake, supposed to be good with ice-cream.

Welcome back Sark and welcome Pame to GN, this is a good thread to ease yourself into.

I have been having odd dreams too Pantglas makes me feel anxious when I wake up.

Usual video chat with Mum later this afternoon. The trouble is as we are going nowhere and not doing a lot, we are running out of conversation! At least she can see me everyday.

Wishing you all a good day, with special love to gilly and all who are feeling down and anxious.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. We've gotten so used to sun that it's a shock it's not visible. The heating has even booted on.
It's DDs birthday and I'm really missing everyone. Facetime doesn't replace a hug.
Must get dressed and round to Lidl as the cupboard is bare.

Good morning from a dull Oxfordshire. A better day today, the family member who was ‘slipping away’ and according to the GP wasn’t going to last the week, was dosed up with Antibiotics and yesterday afternoon was sitting up drinking a cup of tea and asking when she was going to get something to eat!. It was a relief, I think she will outlive us all.......
We went out for the first time since the 10th of March yesterday, went to the chemist, wore my mask and gloves, it was all fairly easy, walked past the small Tesco and apart from Sanitizer at the door, people were just wandering about as usual, there was a shield for the staff though, needless to say I didn’t go in.
Came home stripped off and showered, all clothes in the wash, DH too.
What a Palava! Not really inclined to go out again any time soon. Instead of feeling happy to be out we were very nervous.
Lovely DD is still getting our shopping so we are very lucky.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe

Good Morning Mick and all. It is sunny with us here on the S Welsh coast. I woke at 2 am and it was all misty, glad the sun has returned.
Have an online shop arriving today, I wonder if everything will arrive.
Welcome Pame and welcome back Sark glad things are better for you.
Hope everyone has a good day and stay safe.

Morning all from a North Leicestershire that is a bit brighter that when dragonfly reported but it is quite warm.

A bit of gardening and then I will be making some pork burgers for a barbecue!

dragonfly46 Sat 25-Apr-20 08:30:28

Welcome Pame.

Bluesapphire we all have those wobbles. I am sure you will be fine. I remember biting into an apple and then wondered if I should have washed it with soap and water. No I’ll effects 2 weeks later!

Good morning from east London, the clouds are here but still no rain. Sun is due later but not as warm as yesterday. The dance routine yesterday was ‘hammer time’, totally new to me but a very good workout. I came across some knitting patterns yesterday (my ambitions exceed my ability) for Care Bears, my little pony and a couple of other characters trending over 30 years ago. I think they’ll go to the charity shop as they’re pristine and someone may want to have a go. I’ll pop out for a newspaper shortly and maybe pick up a couple of things so I don’t need to do a ‘big’ shop until next week. Choir workshop this morning and a walk later on. Have a good day.

Welcome back Sark how could you leave us dear lady? And hello to you Pame it’s great to see newbies on this lovely thread!
?

I’m another having unsettling dreams. It makes me apprehensive when I get into bed at night, wondering what’s in store ...
?

A dull day in West Yorkshire...but should brighten up later.

Hope all goes well for your DH on Monday at hospital Ginster.

At last someone has spoken common sense!

In the news today, the Head of NHS England has announced that people with medical problems, other than Covid 19 ,must not delay in getting urgent advice or their health will suffer.
The Stroke Association has also backed up this message...people have been ignoring “funny turns” and not going to A&E or getting prompt medical help.

Good morning from a slightly cloudy East London, I had a good sleep last night , wondering if it’s the addition of a small lavender pillow I made yesterday . I found some lavender flowers I had cut down late last summer and with my husband being unwell and having clear my late mother’s house , I never used it . So yesterday I made a small pillow and put it in my bed . Smell was wonderful so maybe it helped . Or it was just the short walk yesterday evening!

I revise my earlier post it is in fact as was said, grey in Kent. blush

Good morning to Mick and all from the Highlands. It's pretty chilly and grey here this morning. There is a haze on the hills all around so hoping it will lift - if not, I shall have to do a bit of housework! This last couple of weeks it has been lovely to be out in the garden. I have a wee house but a biggish garden. Had a delivery which the chap took straight into the garden and he shouted to me at the back door "great place for a party"!!!!! He was referring to the four seating areas which are quite a distance apart. It is arranged like that so I can following the sun. Better get a move on as DGS sometimes calls me on his tablet and as it involves a camera I need to at least brush my "longish" hair.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Scentia Sat 25-Apr-20 08:57:45

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. It looks a little grey out there today.

I will take the pooch on a longer walk today as it is a long time since I have been on a long walk. I will go to the footpaths I know that not many people use as our canal and riverbanks are looking like Oxford Street at the moment.

I need to go shopping for essentials like beer and wine to go with our curry tonight.?

I hope everyone has a good day today and please stay safe?

A re-vist! - Welcome Pame and welcome back Sark good that things are better for you.

gillybob Sat 25-Apr-20 09:19:43

Good morning from the North East coast where we have another cold and grey start to the day. It’s just 5 degrees outside .

No luck with any of the calls yesterday but did manage a short web chat with my CC provider who “promised” a call back next week. The fact that they promised a call back this week fell on (virtual) deaf ears . They’re all “here to help” until you actually need some help .

I had a lovely long FaceTime chat with my DD and little Evie yesterday . She is 2 next week and she seems to have grown up so much in these last weeks . I’m missing them so much it physically hurts . sad

Welcome back to this lovely thread Sark so sorry to hear that you have been having a stressful time. A warm welcome to you too Pame just wondering where in the country (or indeed world) you are ?

Hoping for good news for your DH on Monday Gingster I have a vision of you with your paper sack over your shoulder doing your morning deliveries smile

Hope everyone has the best day possible in these strange times.
Love Gillybob xx

gillybob Sat 25-Apr-20 09:21:46

Meant to acknowledge what Nanatwiglet said up thread about poorly people without CV being either terrified to go to hospital or else being pushed to one side which cannot be right.

Good morning all from an overcast County Durham with the promise of some sun later. The week seems to have flown by even though at times I felt the need to jump in the car and just drive for a change of scenery. Roll on that day please.
We are so lucky having a garden and countryside out of the back gate to wander in. How people cooped up in flats and cities cope is beyond me. It must be so hard.
On a lighter note meet my NHS scarecrow. Something for walkers to enjoy when they pass by. It certainly kept me busy for a while too.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from the Shropshire borders where it is another sunny day.
Am thinking I will take all the furniture out of the conservatory and give it a good clean but we shall see?May need to borrow Urmstons #lazygran!
It’s so hard gilly isn’t it.Our grandson was 2 in February and they change all the time at that age.Last time we saw him which was the beginning of March he was babbling and very wary of his bike and scooter. This week we have had a video of him whizzing down the lane on his scooter and when we FaceTime he’s chatting away now.
Welcome Pame??and welcome back Sark??
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Hello people ??
Well, good news or good news?
I'll spare you the jobs n outs of my run and breakfast to tell you that government us thinking about letting us each choose up to 10 close family or/and friends to share childcare, eat meals together and socialise within the home.
Nicola S has also made the same noises and a dafter idea I never heard.
Some noses will definitely be put out of joint. Cries of discrimination heard from those whose family are abroad or they themselves are stuck abroad (Urmstongran for one)
Police will never in a million years be able to check which 10 you have nominated (and you have to keep to the same 10 people, no changes)
The 10 you nominate may not be the 10 your son would nominate but all those gathered cannot see anyone outside that group IYSWIM as you are locked into the same people.
Will there be a distance limit? Will under 5s count as 1 of your 10?... babies?...teens?
How will transporting children to share childcare work out?
There will be NO outside gatherings.
Far far too many questions and no concrete answers.
Like trying to keep water in a net.
They might as well let us all mingle and have done with it.
Something else for us to huff n puff over.
They think it will take a week or two to give definitive 'orders'.
Talk amongst yourselves...coffee anyone?
??
