Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice bright sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Another day in today, apart from exercise.
I will go and get a Chinese Take away later , just a soup and a main undecided as to choice, otherwise TV , like many spending more time watching it than normal.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning Mick and all. Sunny here on the S Welsh coast.
Our cul de sac had a street party yesterday, we all sat in garden chairs in our front gardens, socially distanced, some younger neighbours had organised 1940's music. We raised a toast at 3pm and remembered all those who gave so much for our freedom.
One of my neighbours had been shopping and left a small bag of icing sugar on the doorstep for me, so kind.
Stay safe everyone.

A beautiful start to the day here on the NE coast . Enjoying a 3rd cup of tea in the garden waiting for the Barclays phone lines to open at 9am when I will typically spend around 3 hours on hold followed by another load of bullsh*t.

Have a good day everyone . Hope you have sunshine wherever you are . x

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Must try to make the most of today's fine weather in the garden.
I need to think ahead for online ordering. I do miss mooching around the shops.

Good morning everyone from East London . Final warm nice day to make the most of . I had a nice time yesterday afternoon , I sat with some neighbours in their front garden well apart ,who have been dear friends for many years .We had tea in their front garden and enjoyed chatting to others . Since the death of DH I am so grateful for my friendly neighbourhood . I couldn’t sleep last night either -too warm and a whizzing mind , but only woke at 8 so not too tired this morning .

Morning all from a very sunny North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely VE Day yesterday. Two neighbours opposite and our immediate next door neighbours all came out. Next door have two little boys who don't get social distancing and kept their parents on their toes keeping them away from everyone and off the road.

Steak for supper tonight as we didnt feel like eating it yesterday after all the cake.

Take care everyone.

Fingers crossed you get through and get some sort of result today Gilly. I do understand that your mind can’t rest until you do, but none of us want you to blow a fuse and have a melt down. Look after yourself.

Good morning from east London, sunny and warm. Didn’t manage a walk yesterday although I did do a biggish shop yesterday evening with minimal hanging around and only pointing out the one way signs to people a couple of times. It’s when they do a big sigh because I’m in THEIR way that I feel the need. Time just seemed to fly doing bits of cooking and administering first aid to DP; first of all when he dropped a knife chopping salad and cut his toe, then when he cut his wrist moving something outside. I’m having a break from the Saturday choir given we’ve finished the song for the ‘concert’; I much prefer singing when I can be with other people I know and can hear their voices so will stick with my local choir only for now. We will be going for a walk later when hopefully others will have gone home for their tea. Hope you have a good day.

Good morning.

It's another glorious morning again. A few gardening jobs to do then a lazy afternoon in store I think.

We had a quiet celebration in our garden yesterday. I managed to print a couple of flags from the Internet, found a red cloth for the table and some war time music that belonged to my mum. Had a lovely afternoon.

Keep safe, everyone.?

Good Morning to you all, from a bright, sunny N.,Cambs.,

I, too, felt the heat last night, ( I soon get over-heated )!!
Another warm day, today, then a cold spell forecast.

Look forward to seeing DS & some of family, at a distance, today, when they drop off the Saturday paper & fresh goods to keep us going between our fortnightly Ocado delivery.

As you all are, we so miss our "normal" visits to & from DC & DGC. It's our DD's 40th. Birthday in a couple of weeks, we were really hoping to be able to have some actual contact, having already missed 2 of the DGC's Birthdays.
We have to get used to this "new normal".!

Take Care, folks.

Another lovely day here, going to be gardening. My leek plants arrived, I will put them in the greenhouse as it's going to be chilly, and will plant them when the weather is kinder.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 09-May-20 09:13:12

Sar53 take it easy today after your fall ?

jacq10 Sat 09-May-20 09:36:31

Good morning Mick and morning posters from the north of Scotland but afraid the weather has, as predicted, reverted to form and its grey, damp and not too warm. Like many others I've not had the best of weeks mainly due to ongoing pain after my fall. Doctor upped the painkillers and they have helped slightly so I hope to get out for my exercise walk and hope that it will loosen up my old bones! Also had a phone call from a friend's son last night to say his Dad had passed away in hospital due to the virus. We had met up in Spain many years ago. His wife passed away a few years ago and he didn't make it out to Spain so often but came up to the Highlands often. He wasn't in the best of health but I had spoken to him a couple of times recently and he was doing okay. Like Marydoll I am also upset over the bus company going into administration. DH and I used them many times and found it a great way to have a short break with no worries. I had two trips booked for this year with friends - one should have taken place in April and the other was for June. I feel for all the employees so I must buck up. Believe it or not, since starting this post the sun has peeped out so I WILL head out for my walk.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
There were no celebrations in our street yesterday, we have a lot of elderly and sick neighbours and one with the virus.
DH and I had tea and cake on our terrace after a local cake maker delivered some special cakes, she left them on the bonnet of our car for us to collect.

We had a video call with the family last night, actually got a wave from the teenager.
GD 2 showed us her sunflowers and other plants she is growing and her exercise was to clean the car with Daddy.

Another leisurely day with my novel which is set in the south of France and gives you the feel good factor.
Love to gilly stay safe.

Good morning all from a not sunny yet Glasgow ??

Still reading a good book at 2.00am this morning and why not? It’s not as if I have to jump up early for anything so I am just doing whatever takes my mood. I also rely on you Mick to tell me what day it is?

Cat didn’t come home last night which was not surprising when I realised I had closed her in the lounge last night. Now I know why she didn’t appear as usual when I was in the garden calling her??‍♀️

Thank you Marydoll I need a hint as we are both lucky to have a selection of good nurseries around. I will have a look online....woohoo. DH popped down to B&Q very early this morning but said the queue was horrendous and came home. Just popping out to get whatever I need is something I do miss just now.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day in the sunshine if you have it. Could be back to thermal undies tomorrow if the forecast is right for once❄️

GrannySomerset Sat 09-May-20 10:35:39

Late to post this morning as I am awash with hay fever. Don’t know why it is so bad this year - perhaps fewer distractions means I am more aware of it? Tiresome but the pill will kick in shortly. Hope so, because I have things to do in the garden following successful delivery of plants from local nursery. A group of us shared quite a big orders so it was worth the nursery’s while delivering to us.

We had a neighbourly distanced gathering yesterday afternoon, about 50 of us in the end, and it was nice to see rather than merely hear the local children who all seem to have grown in the last couple of months.

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders where I we have been breakfasting in the garden. Yay! It's never been too hot at night here, in fact what is said about Scottish Summers is that you never need to take your cardigan off. This is as warm as it gets. Luckily we love it. Too hot and you have to have sun cream and hats. Bother that!

I wish that after the lockdown we preserve some of the good things: Fewer cars; more working from home; fewer flights. less pollution, more walking and cycling. More play for children; fewer exams.
Today I will get around to some of the jobs I have been putting off for weeks. I have a book on Feng Shui and the art of de-cluttering which I have never read. Why do we possess 150 plastic flower pots?

I hope you all have a good day. Be careful. See you tomorrow.

mrswoo Sat 09-May-20 10:49:54

Good morning from a sunny and warm Newcastle. Just back from a brisk walk up to our high street. DH needed to buy an axe - he's dismantling the rotten garden decking. I think I've worried DS when I told him that MrWoo was digging up the patio but needed an axe to finish the jobgrin. I shall have to be on my very, very best behaviour, just in case things turn nasty.angry

All the VE celebrations sound lovely. One house in our street had bunting up but there was nothing else. Not many Thursday night clappers either. We are not unfriendly bunch though.

A day for sitting in the garden with the weekend papers before the temperature drops tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a sunny Saturday and all those with health and other worries have the best day that they can.

Kalu Sat 09-May-20 10:55:12

Sorry to hear the sad news of your friend jacq. Hope a walk in the sunshine helps to lift your spirits.

Annapops Sat 09-May-20 10:59:40

Good morning from sunny County Durham. Is it just me or are these days whizzing past at super speed?

We had so many trips planned this year. We should have been in Poland now then making ready to travel on to Prague. I don't think the freedom we have had to travel abroad to so many different places will ever return again.

Yesterday my peg dolly fairies made their way into the gardens of three of my GC. I shall post the two remaining ones to the others, who are a drive away. It should give them a little surprise. They can then either keep them or hide them for another child, while out for their daily walk.

Today I plan to enjoy our last day of sunshine before the cold winds arrive with their wintery showers tomorrow.

Have the best day you can all. X
