Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking likes its just about to brighten up ,and have a reasonable warm day.
Today, I have got up washed, shaved ,showered and weighed myself.
I always take my electric meter reading on a Sunday, and do a weekly usage comparison .
Mind you its creeping up slightly as I am using more, under normal circumstances it would not be the case.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning. Very dull outside in the north of Scotland here. The church service will be using utube as has become the norm for these strange times but it is wonderful to be able to get together virtually. I might footer a little in the garden and later I will be on Netflix Party with some of the faraway family. I have a very special bar of chocolate which I won’t have to share?
Have the best day you can everyone and put your worries or troubles aside for the day if you can.

Morning Mick, morning All. Cloudy start to the day in our corner of Somerset. Should finish my filing system reorganisation fairly quickly this morning. Nothing else planned other than a couple of phone calls. Roast beef this evening, Mr C’s favourite. Be gentle with yourselves everyone, life can feel hard going just now.

Morning all.
After a dull, chilly day yesterday, today looks bright and warmer in E Kent.
Getting ready for the decorator to move in tomorrow, paid for by the house insurance. Hate all the sorting out and tidying up.

Good morning from Malta where it looks bright, it is already warm, and the birds are singing.

No plans apart from binge watching Columbo! I’ve seen them all before but it takes me back to when I used to watch it in the 70’s.

Taichinan, I was interested to hear you had lived in Malta. Was your DH in the forces? My mum used to live in Bugibba as well, in the days when it was a sleepy fishing village. It now resembles Blackpool on a bad day.

Have you ever been back at all? It has certainly changed a great deal, not all for the better, but there is still nowhere else I would rather live.

Have as good a day as possible everyone.sunshine

NotAGran55 Sun 17-May-20 06:51:44

Good morning all from sunny West Berkshire.

Off for a drive today , not sure where yet but as it will involve a walk in a different place I’m not bothered where it is . Out of the village anywhere will be good .

First Zoom session tonight for a quiz which should be good .

Have a safe day everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Cheshire. It's a grey start to the day, but yesterday began like this and turned into a glorious day.

Well, it's my birthday and spending the day alone seems odd but hey, I'm here and that's all good. Netflix Party sounds interesting Feelingmyage55 and DD has it too so I'm going to investigate that.

I'm so lucky to have lovely neighbours and we usually go out for a meal on each other's birthdays. I usually have a special trip somewhere nice with my sister too, so that's not going to happen. Enough of this pity party! I know there will be video calls and that will be good. DD is talking about me flying out to them when flights begin, but I'm not sure.

Walking in the woods at 9.00 which I love and it sets me up for the day and then I'm going to bake for the freezer. I messed up the supermarket delivery date and what I hoped for tomorrow now won't arrive till Friday, so if it's not in the freezer, it's not on the menu.

Warm wishes to all especially those with illness or worries. Stay safe whatever you may be planning. flowers for all.

Good morning Mick and All from cloudy Worcs.

It’s warming up again - hearing did not kick in. Should be 24 deg. on Wednesday so summer clothes will be back at the front of my wardrobe.

Settling into new way of exercise - doing a short drive and then walking. It makes such a change and we have so much countryside around us. Avoiding so-called ‘beauty spots’ to avoid any weekend crowds.

I have a pile of apples to stew and make a pie or a crumble. I’ll let DH choose which. And a roast for evening meal - leg of lamb and roastie potatoes, carrot&swede mash, green beans, mint sauce ....... looking forward to that.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, relaxing Sunday. Enjoy however much or however little you’ll all be doing today. ?

Puzzler61 Sun 17-May-20 07:13:27

A very Happy Birthday Ginny ?☀️?????

Happy Birthday Ginny have the loveliest day you can ???
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s bright and dry.

Yesterday I was meant to be going on a mystery trip and the mystery was.....it wasn’t going to happen ?

I’m very much looking forward to seeing my DD later and she’s bringing her dog.

Wishing you all well ?

Beechnut Sun 17-May-20 07:20:18

I don’t think my hearing as ever kicked in Puzzler ?

dragonfly46 Sun 17-May-20 07:38:50

Good morning from a british Leicestershire.

Happy Birthday Ginny.

I take a pill first thing then have to sit upright for an hour so the perfect opportunity to peruse Gransnet.

British lamb for dinner - my favourite and may venture out with the dog even though it is not allowed. The infection rate is low in our neck of the woods.

Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Puzzler61 Sun 17-May-20 07:38:56

Beechnut ? oops.

dragonfly46 Sun 17-May-20 07:39:27

That should have been ‘brightish’

Urmstongran Sun 17-May-20 07:43:43

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another sunny start ? to the day. Himself is just off out, he’s made my a cuppa.

Tomorrow this area of Andalusia goes into ‘Phase 1’ with the rest of the region so bars and cafes will be open at 50% capacity on the terraces and we can walk wherever we want to but as we are still restricted to time zones it’s a bit silly. Okay for our friends in the block they have a car and tomorrow will drive out to Fuengirola for a stroll into Los Boliches and then back again their car.

I don’t want to get a train or bus yet so will content myself walking locally. Might even go down and stroll along the paseo next week. I expect soon the time zones will be scrapped and I look forward to that!

Many happy returns of the day Ginny42 - another Taurean like Marydoll. As a Virgoan myself, you and Capricorn are the other earth signs which mean we would get on especially well! so if it's not in the freezer, it's not on the menu made me giggle.
?

Chicken & chorizo in the slow cooker with fresh veg for us and our neighbour this evening. I take her a G&T around 5pm while she waits for her plate! Strange times indeed.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Scentia Sun 17-May-20 07:46:36

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, it looks like it will be a lovely day eventually.
Happy Birthday Ginny enjoy your walk later.
After a bike ride with the pooch I will be taking a look at my assessment that I got back yesterday. It is 15 years since I worked in children’s services so I have signed up for a course online to refresh my skills and knowledge of the new legislation. I got my first assessment back and I have to re submit 8 out of 12 question. Quite worrying really, it is only expansion that is needed but, I feel that I did the right thing refreshing my skills?
Have the best day possible today and please stay safe everyone ❤️

Sar53 Sun 17-May-20 07:53:30

Good morning everyone from a sunny Essex by the sea. I think it's going to be a lovely day.
They reopened the gates to the car park by the beach yesterday but it wasn't too bad. I think today will be busier. The mobile snack bar was also in attendance yesterday.
We will go out for a walk later and then I will be making a cheese and onion pie for tea. We decided against a roast today.
My prints of our grandchildren arrived and I put them all in frames. So lovely to see them all smiling and happy. My lockdown pictures.
Have a happy and safe Sunday xx

Pantglas2 Sun 17-May-20 07:53:49

Morning everyone from a dry and bright north Wales.

Happy birthday Ginny42 ? I’m sure it’ll be an odd one under these circumstances!

Nothing planned other than a walk, read the paper and a sit in the garden! I prepped and cooked the beef in red wine yesterday so will be proper tasty with mash and veg this evening with soft fruits and yogurt for pud!

Peaceful Sunday to all x

GrannyGravy13 Sun 17-May-20 07:54:04

Good morning Mick and all x

Urmstongran we have spent many New Years Eve in Los Boliches Square, my Mum lived in Avda de Acapulco.

Happy Birthday Ginny ???

We have a supermarket delivery this afternoon, roast chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and spring cabbage for dinner.

Nothing else planned.

Keep safe and well folks ?

harrigran Sun 17-May-20 08:01:07

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Happy Birthday Ginny ???
Watched Gladiator yesterday afternoon and the Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society last night, I really must move around today.
I have noticed a lot of garden waste bins still out since Friday, looks as if the binmen missed our street again, disgusting as the neighbours actually pay in advance for the service.

Stay safe everyone.

brook2704 Sun 17-May-20 08:05:40

Good morning everyone from another cloudy Inverness morning. It’s definitely warming up just a little bit and I’m hoping the sun comes out just for a little bit later.

Happy Birthday Ginny hope you have the best day you can and enjoy whatever you do ! ??❤️??

And urmstongran how fantastic that you can now wander a little bit further in lovely sunny Malaga - have a super time ! I’m just a teeny weeny bit jealous ..... lucky neighbour too getting a G&T delivered along with her dinner !

Nothing different planned for today ? but I’m making the most of things !

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday and enjoys whatever they’re doing.Take care and extra hugs to those with worries, wobbles and struggles. ?

Marydoll Sun 17-May-20 08:08:25

Good morning Mick and all from a wet Glasgow, no walks in the sunshine for us today and Puzzler, our heating did kick in!

Special birthday wishes for Ginny. ????
I hope you have as lovely a day as I did!

Bella every time I read your posts, I am reminded of all our happy, family holidays we had in Malta.
We actually stayed in Bugibba a couple of times, but it became so touristy. Qwara was so developed the last time, we visited. There used to be so little there, when we visited.
Valletta is one of our favourite places and Malta and Cyprus were the only places abroad, where I have driven. Obviously , as they drive on the same side of the road as us!

A lazy day here, reading the papers and footering , as Feelingmyage says. I use that word so much, that my wee granddaughter has started to use it, much to my children's amusement. I must introduce it into the maths class, now that the class have learned to use scunnered. ?
I hope you are feeling better today, Feelingmyage55.

How I envy all those who are able to go out and drive or meet a family member. However, I know the Scottish Executive are absolutely correct in not easing the lockdown here. I did hear from a policeman neighbour yesterday, that the shielding is to be extended here.☹️
The police here are very zealous, stopping motorists and asking where they are going and why. I
I heard of an old lady who was out, stopped and told that taking the car out to boost the battery, was not a legitimate excuse!

We are having roast chicken tonight, complete with all the trimmings. Most of it was made yesterday, so just the veg to do, frozen of course!?
I have awarded myself a day off from both the kitchen and my maths class.

We will watch our online church service and the rest of the day is ours.

Have a good day everyone.

ninathenana Sun 17-May-20 08:09:25

?Happy Birthday Ginny?

As GrandMatie says a better day in Kent, which is good as DD and family are going to a large park this afternoon for a picnic.
Apart from cooking roast chicken for dinner, I will be doing, not a lot
Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Sun 17-May-20 08:19:27

Urmstongran, good news to lift your spirits. I bet you thought you would never see this day! ?

I used to love going to the market at Los Boliches! You can see how materialistic I am. Never mind the sun, sea and sex part of the holiday, just the shopping! Or even better, the sunny shopping
DH, who hates markets, loved it, because he could buy bags of golf ball, recovered from the Costa golf courses, probable some of his own, previously lost in water hazards.. ⛳?️
