Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but cloudy start here in Brackley this morning .
My trip out yesterday , saw more than expected .
Once I had got to Bicester , I went to bakery shop I use the cafe is not open until Monday , there was queing for barber shops plus someone had set up a mobile one again queing .
Got back to Buckingham , the flea market stall ,and also the Old Gaol museum had reopened , the cafe I use , got a seat sat down and ordered, no questions as to personal details tracking , had a coffee and toastie ,and watched all the diverted traffic going through the town centre due to road works .
Returned home , and got a Chinses take away as usual,
Take care
Mick

Me too GRANNYGRAVY. I used to be as brave as a lion, bold and fearless. ? Now I’m more of a crab, scuttling back under my shell. ?.

Gingster

Thankyou all for your birthday wishes but the day isn’t actually until the end of the month. Sorry if I misled you all. I’m actually ‘on the cusp’, so inbetween cancer and leo. Happy birthday to you all today xx

Gingster I am also on the cusp and my personality/mood definitely goes between Cancer and Leo ??

Good afternoon Mick, Annie and all who contribute to this lovely thread. It makes me feel better just to read your posts.

Happy Birthday to all who are celebrating, and commiserations and {{{hugs}}} to all who are feeling poorly or in pain. Especially Marydoll and Harrigran

I have been out in the garden again this morning, making the most of the dry and windy weather. The washing is almost dry, and DH has been supplying me with coffee. On Friday I overdid it in the garden and did absolutely nothing yesterday, but felt not so achey today. I dug up the last of my potatoes from the little pot, and have enough for a couple of meals.
Not bad for no outlay, I just cut up a couple of sprouting potatoes, and had the compost etc.
Well done Gillybob, for tackling the pub landlord. Here's hoping he and his customers behave in the coming days.
Going to sit and read now and do nothing again.
Enjoy the rest of the day one and all.

We are also celebrating 72 years of the NHS today .I was 5 and like many of us have been grateful of it.
I was diagnosed as Diabetic when I was 10 and can remember my parents having to pay for prescriptions for a short time.Glad they've been free for so long.
The gin store is looking healthier with unusual names!!
Hope everyone has a good day, expecting my visitors soon. Stay safe.

Good morning all from Gower where, after 48 hours of rain, it's dry. There is blue sky and fluffy white clouds but the tree in our back garden is waving its arms about frantically trying to uproot itself so it can storm off up the road in a huff ?.

Gingster, I knew it would work, I know my cherries ?
If it is your birthday today Happy Birthday, enjoy it ??

Happy Birthday to Justwidowed, it is bound to be a difficult one but heartfelt wishes from me for a day of happy memories rather than sadness ??❤️

? Happy Birthday to Grannygags, have a lovely day ??

Well we really do have quite a lot of cancerians here, mine in a couple of days ?

Harrigran, I hope a solution to your pain is found pretty quickly now you have rang 101. Like Marydoll I know what painful hands are like. I'm waiting further treatment on one of mine, the other is pretty good ???

It really is wonderful to hear all the joyous family get togethers happening, meals barbecues and hugs ?.

?for those alone and those still waiting.

Good on you Gillybob, my kinda gal ?

Marydoll, you are clearly still suffering and out of sorts. I hope that if it continues that you do get on to your consultant and it gets dealt with ?

Right, I think I'll go and have a quiet word with that tree and tell it that being huffy won't do it any good ?

Take care, stay safe and be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

I am sorry for all Grans with pain today, Harri and Mary and others. I used to get a lot of pain in my left knee after breaking my ligaments. Could barely walk. In the end I heard from the internet that turmeric can help, and I now have 2 turneric and curcumin tablets a day. I have been taking it for about a year and have almost no pain now and can walk quite far with my walking stick. I can't guarantee it will help everyone but it might be worth a try. Have a happy day everyone and if it is your birthday all good wishes to you.

Good morning from a windy East Midlands.

Going for a walk and then making bacon and egg pie, pineapple upside down cake and some scones.

Stay safe and sane.

Urmstongran Sun 05-Jul-20 10:59:32

Good one you gillybob for going over and speaking to the landlord. As you say though, when the better weather comes the problems may start.
?

EV did you freeze some crumpets in the end so you had your own ‘stash’?

Happy Birthdays to all you Cancerians by the way! x

Good morning from East London, sunny but very breezy . I think DS is pushing his luck to have a family BBQ today! Happy Birthday Justwidowed , the first anniversaries are the worst . I hope you have some company (or maybe you would prefer to be alone) My 70th was two months after my DH died , it was a very quiet affair .
Went to our local high street yesterday afternoon, it was lovely to see cafes open and everyone seemed very happy, pubs open but seemed all in order .BIG queues at both men’s barbers. My hairdresser hasn’t got in touch yet but I’m sure they’re run off their feet .

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 05-Jul-20 10:53:44

Good Morning all from windy Harrogate. While reading this my roomba has been cleaning the rooms I allowed it to go in. It did try to vacuum up one of DH's piles of paper he insists on leaving on the floor. I shall join in the on-line church service soon.

gillybob Sun 05-Jul-20 10:23:34

Oops sorry forgot to wish Gingster and Grannybags a very happy birthday too . ? flowers

gillybob Sun 05-Jul-20 10:21:24

A late Good morning from the NE coast here we had a bright but very windy start to the day. It’s clouding over as I type so no doubt we will have rain later .

Spent all day at my DD’s yesterday as she was quite anxious about the pub over the road reopening . As we knew he would they (literally) pushed the boundaries to the very limits and erected a huge gazebo with around 20 beach sets underneath. A large BBQ was “hidden” behind a big white van and there were 2 huge speakers . I ended up having words with the manager and told him either the music was turned right down or I would phone the police . I give him his due, he did turn it down but the noise of drunk people “talking” could still be heard way above the music. Thankfully the weather wasn’t very good which I think may have helped keep some people away but this was just day one and I suspect things will get much worse as the weather improves . I will be speaking to the licensing people again tomorrow not that I hold much hope . They just don’t seem interested. It’s not in their back yard after all .

Anyway to keep busy my DD and I decided to take the sides off little Evie’s cot/bed yesterday as she is keep poking her legs through the bars and DD thinks she’s ready . She was 2 at the end of April . She seemed to love it and kept getting in and out by herself . She slept very well but woke with her legs dangling out of the opening between the little rounded guards in the 4 corners . smile

I’m so sorry to hear you had another night of pain Harri . You must try and get to see a pain specialist ASAP. No one should suffer like this . I hope you have a restful, pain free day today.

Happy Birthday Justwidowed I hope you have as good a day as possible today .

Thinking of all those who are struggling with pain, poorliness or sadness. I wish you all some much needed sunshine

Love Gillybob xx

Morning all.Progress? Not really, managed a scary trip into supermarket , first since March 15th, whilst husband stayed in car(shielding) then visit from son and daughter in law but as she is also shielding still they wouldn’t even come into open conservatory, My son won’t risk going anywhere for fear of bringing something back, he said I shouldn’t either. When will it end, apart from two cancelled weddings we have had to postpone any plans for our Diamond wedding anniversary in August.
End of grizzle......

Good Morning All x
Blimey, it's not the weather for kilts ! Blowing a hooley and here we are in July. The sun is in and out like a dog at a fair too. Good job I'm happy enough being indoors----speaking of which I must say that I'm slightly relieved that others don't feel " brave " enough for transport travelling the same as myself.

My problem is that ( not being GP friendly ) I'm annoyed with myself for not having spoken to my GP about how ill I was at the beginning of the year and my fear that if this virus hit me I wouldn't stand a chance, hence my life coming to a complete standstill. My own fault for not cracking on sad

Being careful is an understatement as I've no intentions of being " normal " for a long time yet and as I told a neighbour last week, Christmas can come and go this year.
Very unlike me ! I used to love hustle and bustle and crowds and the excitement.

Anyway, don't wish to dampen anyone's day with moaning but had to get that out. I'll feel better after my crumpets grin
Didn't get to make my sponge cake yesterday but will do today and fill it with pineapple jam by way of a change. I did have the beef on the go in the oven and by the time I waited for it to cook my interest in baking had gone. ( my excuse )

Hope Gillybob's DD had a reasonably calm night without incident x. I didn't hear or hear of any goings-on here though it's relatively quiet at the best of times with only sirens in the distance on the main road if anything breaks out .

Usual thoughts to those who aren't so grand flowers hoping that things improve as time goes on. You're in everyone's thoughts here. X

Take care if you've got these gales and always stay safe. xx

Good morning from a really wild and windy Durham. Hardly slept because of the noise outside and had a really unnerving dream of being in a ‘cosy’ relationship with my Dentist - who’s my ex next door neighbour! It was very odd!!
Feeling exhausted by the lack of sleep and DH has woken up and seems to have lost his hearing - tried nose blowing etc, but no change. Take care anyone thinking of going out today. X

GrannyGravy13 Sun 05-Jul-20 09:51:50

Popped back to see if Sar53 had posted as I haven't seen her on here since she received some unsympathetic responses on another thread.

Hope you are feeling ok Sar

Good morning from a windy but not wet yippee Cornwall! An incredibly painful night - need two new hips and can't get pain medication right, but at least I can have a quiet day at the allotment after a lovely hectic yesterday with small grandchildren. Shame the BBC morning church service has stopped but hopefully our church will reopen again soon. Lots of people in Wetherspoons yesterday (I live almost opposite) which was actually lovely to see. Some life at last! And a market popped up in our town centre square with a book stall. I couldn't believe how much I've missed buying books ha ha. Bought a big Outsider Art book. Lady was asking £1 and I offered her £3 and we compromised at £2. All back to front I know but I couldn't pay her only £1 for that! Our library reopens tomorrow hurray. Have a good day everyone, and for those in pain I hope you can rest well.

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s a sunny but blustery start to the day.

Wishing everyone unwell and/or anxious a better day.

Happy birthday JustWidowed?

Good morning from a bright windy Morecambe Bay. Lazy start again today. Not a lot planned other than a click and collect at Sainsbury’s. I need to plan my week around the weather as I need to get my 4 gardening clients done before we leave for Shetland. We have 2 weeks booked, but may extend it if the weather is kind. We are taking our camper rather than the car so we are self sufficient en route. It uses 3 times more fuel than the car but worth it not to have to worry about facilities! Take care and stay safe everyone ?
