Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet here in Brackley this morning .
Had the very quick flu jab yesterday , where I live.
Also yesterday, I watched Bargain Hunt which is one of two progs on consecutive Mondays from the Antiques Cellar in the town , it with host Eric Knowles must have been filmed in the past 6 weeks , social distancing , and in this case the auction was done as a internet link .
Today , my usual day out to Buckingham and Bicester , after some housework before I go and get the bus .
take care ,
Mick

Good Morning everyone where the cold winds off the Pyrenées - and where apparently there has been some snow already (September???) - have left us. 21 today and sunshine, so we shall continue to hope for normal service to be resumed ASAP.

Bet you’ve left the building by now, Taichinan. I know what you mean about time, it is difficult to remember precisely who said what, but so entertaining when Morning posts can turn into a huge conversation. Wishing you the very best Big Birthday ??? and a lovely drive to lunch with your DD.

? Rude awakening, Ellan - one of the less acceptable faces of animal parenting. Still, good thing an area without floor covering was the chosen emergency spot.

Good wishes to you @ the dentist, corner. Hateful places, I do empathise ?. However, if you can focus on being pain free again and concentrate on a little plan for something more interesting post visit, it sometimes helps, I find. Hope your consultations/tests give you good results and relief NanKate and Lins - and anyone I’ve forgotten. GrannySomerset the peace of your garden on a sunny day - while your cleaner sorts out the dull chores - sounds just the ticket.

I’m so totally confused by news from the UK at present, I’ve had to switch off. It seems both worrying and baffling. But whatever the mayhem, at least Grans will cope. I’m convinced of that and love checking in each morning to see some unity, positivity and hope.

So, warm hugs and well wishes to you all for a happy and safe Tuesday. ????

Morning all from South Notts where we had rain overnight though it looks brighter now. Many happy returns of the day to Taichinan.

I should have a visit later from my sister if she is feeling well. I've been a right lazy article over the last few days and must rouse myself to do some jobs around the house and garden.

Hope all is well for everyone especially those with illness or worries.

GrannyOwl5 Tue 29-Sep-20 09:22:41

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp north Kent. Up a bit later than usual as was prevented from emerging out of bed by a cat who was snuggled in refusing to move. Little does she know that she is off to the vet with her brother for their injections. We shall be receiving the silent treatment for the rest of the day.
Later a visit to the garden centre to get some spring bulbs and winter flowering pansies.
Hope everyone has a good day

Taichinan Tue 29-Sep-20 09:17:41

Good morning everyone, and thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! The last year of my 70s - I wonder what I can do to make it memorable? Oh, I know - Covid lock-downs won't soon be forgotten!! It's a beautiful September day on the Angus coast, where I live on the edge of a nature reserve. You would love it here Ellan and Nortsat as at this time we have up to 80,000 Canada geese visiting. Earlier on I watched skein upon skein of them flying over in search of some poor farmer's field to decimate! Like you I love the sight and sound of them. I haven't seen Mr Robin yet this morning but he usually puts in an appearance on the fence at some point. I have five minutes before I must dash to get ready to go out. A lovely drive over to the other side of Perth to meet DD for a quick lunch, and then into Perth for a delve into M&S (sorry Marydoll. I'm really not trying to make you envious ?). Thank you CaroleAnne for your kind comment yesterday, and also Ellan, Grandmafrench and others for advice re posting. I have taken two pages of memory-prompters - and now have run out of time to use them!!! Have a good day everyone and good luck with doctors and dentists. ???

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's bright and cold so far. My feet got soaked walking across the lawn, on my way to the compost bin, just now.
North Berwick is indeed a pretty small town although like all seaside places near cities it is sprawling with new housing developments. It's known as the Golf coast.

Taichinan happy Birthday!

After yoga -if I can find my way to the venue front room without tripping over, we are off to the hospital for a long-awaited consultation (DH)

I wish we could see Gillybob again. We all miss her posts.
Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Tue 29-Sep-20 08:58:06

Gelisjams, we absolutely love North Berwick and had actually been planning a break in a few weeks time, which we had to cancel, because of Covid restrictions.

Gelisajams Tue 29-Sep-20 08:55:46

Good morning from Melrose. It’s sunny but pretty nippy in our little camper. The fan heater is on overtime. It’s a delightful town as other posters commented yesterday. We can’t stay longer as we head off to North Berwick shortly. Wishing Taichinan a very happy Birthday and sending best wishes to all below par. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Auntieflo Tue 29-Sep-20 08:53:28

Good morning Mick, Annie and especially Gillybob, we all miss you, send best wishes and hope you and your little family are OK.
It's been raining here and so it looks a bit dismal and grey at the moment. I hope it cheers up as Tuesday is also my volunteering afternoon, and we may get a few more customers if the weather is kind. I will have to wear a mask in the shop, and I am not looking forward to that.
Last night a Freecycler collected a lightweight, folding wheelbarrow. He was lovely, and collecting it to give to his elderly neighbour 78! (gulp, I am 78, hope I didn't look too elderly). He said this chap was always pottering in his garden , with an old, very heavy, decrepit wheelbarrow, up and down, every day, and hoped this might be better for him.
Yesterday I found an easy recipe for an apple cake, so will make one before I go out.

Anyone have any idea why plumbers come to look at a job, then go all quiet for weeks before committing to do anything?

Happy birthday Taichinan, have a lovely day.

Marydoll, are you absolutely sure you needed a new lilac cashmere jumper? Or did it just look lonely in the jumble sale?

Have a good day one and all.

Anniebach Tue 29-Sep-20 08:51:07

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Stilllearning Tue 29-Sep-20 08:49:32

Morning from a misty S Lanarkshire but that should clear later. Happy Birthday ? Taichinan, I hope you enjoy your day.
I could feel your joy yesterday Elizabeth when you described your young grandchild scrambling out the car window to get to you! When we were first allowed garden visits during lockdown, my wee ones turned up unexpectedly and, as I literally ran out clapping?, 4 year old yelled ‘Hello Granny, the Prime Minister said we can come!’
Have a bit of an odd feeling this morning, I was planning to meet a friend for coffee this afternoon but she called last night to postpone because her granddaughter, whom she looked after on Saturday, has been sent home from school to isolate for a week because the older brother of another child in her class has tested positive. It has brought it home how near the blasted virus can be.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

gillgran Tue 29-Sep-20 08:48:58

Good Morning to you all from a damp, dank Cambs.,
Disappointing weather, after a pleasant day yesterday.

Quite the opposite to your lovely sunrise, Gingster, sunshine. I've enjoyed your recent photos from Suffolk. At our little home-from-home, on our bit of the Norfolk coast we get the setting sun over the sea.! )

Happy Birthday Taichinan hope you have a good day.

Take Care folks

GrannySomerset Tue 29-Sep-20 08:46:15

A golden morning in North Somerset so washing will soon be out, and as our wonderful cleaner will be here I will be out in the garden dismantling the last of the summer pots and planting up some bulbs which have been waiting for a week for me to get the urge. Nothing planned this week but I expect life will intrude as it usually does.

I am missing Gilly too and hope her absence is temporary. Hope everyone has a satisfactory day.

WOODMOUSE49 Tue 29-Sep-20 08:40:45

Good Morning everyone. Sunny mid Cornwall but wish I had some of Malaga warmth! Two thick layers and ski socks today.
Can't believe I got up at 7:30am. Intention was to collect a hired whacker for the 500m of trenches we're digging but need a cuppa first.

Also can't believe I was bending a 2m length of ducting at 8:00pm last night, DH tried with brut force and one broke! Out came my handy hair drier and a length of rope.
I'll be pleased when it's all done (having mains elec put in for new house). Boots and wellies take some cleaning with all the clay stuck to them.

Happy Birthday Taichinan

cornergran Telephone + video consultations work really well don't they. One saved me a 1.5 hour drive each way and covered all I usually get as no examination needed.

Take care everyone. I must read the Good Mornings started by Mick every day (thank you). Lovely way to start.

Nortsat Tue 29-Sep-20 08:40:29

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a currently grey and wet east London.
Of course we didn’t bring the washing in from the line last evening and of course it was nearly dry and of course it’s soaking wet now.

My partner has several of his students for Zoom tuition today. I am thinking Shepherds Pie for supper and I have plenty of nice green vegetables to serve with it.

Feeling better each day ... so I’ll change the bed linen and wash the cushion covers and throws from the living room.
One of the GNs here recommended shopping on line at Brand Alley and I found a nice set of table mats and coasters in the William Morris pattern Willow. They were at a good price and will replace our current mats, which seem to get water damaged over time.

Ellan how lovely a flock of geese, followed by a visit from a robin. That’s two of my favourites sights.
Ginster Beautiful photograph, thank you.
Kate good luck with your consultations today.
Happy Birthday taichinan, have a lovely day.
Thinking of Bluesapphire and gilly.
?to those facing challenges. Have a good day everyone ?

Lins1066 Tue 29-Sep-20 08:33:23

Good morning Mick and all.
It is lovely and sunny here on the S Welsh coast. Our little town is very quiet as we have been in a local lockdown since the end of last week. I'm having blood tests later in another area but that is deemed a legitimate reason for venturing out.
MrLins went out for a walk with the puppy around 7am, it is becoming routine which is nice. He is very bitey, the puppy not MrLins!
Happy Birthday to Taichinan.
Stay safe everyone.

Have a good day everyone must hurry on now there’s my carer in prompt

Elizabeth1 Tue 29-Sep-20 08:29:59

Good morning all from a very bright east coast of Fife. I was freezing through the night guess it’s time for my warm cosy electric blanket to go on the bed it’s not one of those off fashioned ones - my neighbour gave me one which heats up instantly. She gave it to me when I had a faint in the bathroom one early morning when I couldn’t get heat back into my body.i would recommend these to all whomsuffer from these cold mornings. Wish now that I could get a long lie in but hey mustn’t grumble it looks a beautiful sunny day.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 29-Sep-20 08:17:29

Good morning Mick and all

Grey and drizzle here in S E Essex ?☔️

We have GS today, hope to put him in pram and have a long walk, pick up his brother from school who will have a sleepover. As soon as DD has picked up his baby brother it will be reading, puzzles and play dough!!

Happy Birthday taichinan ???

Beauregard Tue 29-Sep-20 08:09:18

Good morning from Derbyshire. A nice day in store so gardening work beckons before the rain starts tomorrow when I'll probably turn my attention to making some more face masks.

No Tuesday walk today as Mr B has been a bit under the weather and wants to preserve himself as we're going away for a few days next week (hopefully).

A big happy birthday to Taichinan ???

Have a good day all.

harrigran Tue 29-Sep-20 08:05:22

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Today we have a click and collect from Sainsbury's, the only excitement we can expect as we are in strict lockdown.
My sister, in Germany, has a social life I can only dream of. She is out every single day for coffee or lunch and visiting friends and has booked a holiday for October and December. She gets to visit a GP too.
Happy Birthday Taichinan.

Gingster Tue 29-Sep-20 08:04:04

Sunrise over the sea

Gingster Tue 29-Sep-20 08:03:10

Good morning from a much brighter Suffolk Coast. Lovely to see the sun after 4 days of rain and mizzle. Beautiful sunset last night and gorgeous sunrise this morning.

We’ll finish off the bulb planting today - it seems to go on forever. A nice autumnal walk in the forest today will be the highlight of our day. Still to make pea and ham soup so that’s on the menu for tonight.

We visited our friends who are staying a little way up the coast from us. They had dreadful weather and are leaving today, now the sun has returned. Poor things!

I can hear DH up and about, so that’s my peace gone. I love an hour to myself in the morning, reading GN and having a cuppa. ?.

Good wishes to all ???
