Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark but dry with some wind here in Brackley this morning .
Hopefully today will be a day of bus journeys to Buckingham and Bicester, and returning home to watch the Vuelta cycle race on TV .
I had read yesterday increases in Spain may lead to it being cancelled .
Take Care ,
Mick

Oops pressed send by accident, could do with a delete option! fairview hi! busy day for you. Doesn't look like we will be getting back to Spain this year even though it seems safer in our area than here. We have missed it so much but there's always another time! Have a good day everyone. Hugs for those with wobbles flowersfor those with extra cares and worries

Good Morning. Looking a bit dull weather wise in N. Bucks.
Looking forward to a visit with our eldest Grandson (18) at lunchtime.
Otherwise just a day of bits and bobs.
Wishing you all some ? today

Good morning All from a grey and cold Polmont. Babysitting again today so we might go out for a walk. We stayed in yesterday as he was a bit under the weather. Lots of splashing soapy water in the kitchen sink helped. Him, not me! I had a rotten night so I'll be tired later. The fish man is due this morning so fish for tea tonight. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a brightening east London.

Our elderly cat Missy is home from the vets and seems fine, but it took her quite a while to settle last night, after her day in the hospital. Hopefully today she’ll be back to normal.

I didn’t see Bluesapphire’s post yesterday but am so glad to know that she popped in.

The slow wardrobe clear out continues. I have saved up the EBay monies and bought myself a gold bangle. It should arrive today.

Lovely photos Ashcombe.
Scentia, pooch looks very cosy ... I imagine she enjoys being with you, even if it’s a cold, dark start to the day.
Hope Bluesapphire had a decent night. Good morning to gilly, if she’s reading.
Have a good day all and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

Good morning from an overcast NE.
No update on DH's friend, wife and son who have corona, we are concerned because they are in their 90s and in a care home and the son has COPD.
My sister is off on a four day mini break, I do hope she is okay as my DD, in Brussels, is unable to travel to help out now.
Same old today, can't remember the last time I was out of the house.

Good morning all - it’s grey and chilly here but hasn’t started raining - yet
Not a lot today apart from a trip (yes again!) to John Lewis to take back the wool I bought on Saturday as it is too chunky for what I had in mind. Good old Deramores have found what I need. So knitting this afternoon.
I had such a lovely day yesterday - making sloe gin in the morning with my friend and neighbour and then meeting up in Woburn in the afternoon with SIL and littlest DGS who had driven up from London (D at work so a Daddy day) along with SIL’s parents for a walk and then a play for the wee one at the village playground. It was a glorious afternoon so really perfect. It’s SIL’s last week before going back to full time work and Littlest Fella starts at the childminder. You’ve got to take these opportunities when you can, don’t you?
Wishing you all well, and a pleasant day.

Urmstongran Tue 27-Oct-20 08:06:21

That sounds a glorious family afternoon Maw. I expect times like those help our mental health. A little bit of ‘normal ‘.

NannyJan53 Tue 27-Oct-20 08:06:50

Good morning from a grey and drizzly Black Country. Was out at 7am to fill the car with petrol at Sainsburys, then a quick whiz round the store for bits and bobs. Going to make meatballs today.

Partner is off on a cycle ride today. It's a shame it wasn't yesterday as it was lovely and sunny.

I hope your appointment goes well NanKate and there are no concerns for the future.

Good to see BlueSapphire said hello yesterday. Hope gilly make be back with us soon.

Have a good and safe day everyone.

cornergran Tue 27-Oct-20 08:08:36

Morning Mick , morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset. Just enjoyed my first hot drink since yesterday lunch time.

Obeying the instructions from my dentist to the letter. No way either of us are going through that process again! Not complaining, well not much, as my mouth is comfortable today. First time for months. Fortunately she said nothing about the glass of wine I had last evening grin.

Ironing and general faffing this morning. Out and about this afternoon. As close to ‘normal’ as a day can be. Smiles can be hard to summon on some days for any of us, be gentle with yourselves and please, let’s be careful out there. ?.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve got a lovely blue sky with just a few white clouds about. Showers are forecast for later though so I’d best make the most of the dry weather whilst I can and carry on with the garden tidy up.
I’ve decided to create a cosy winter sitting out area on the decking at the back of the house so I can continue sitting outside with a cuppa for as long as possible. I’ve got some garden lights that I’m going to put up, a potted Christmas tree with twinkling lights and a comfy bench in a sheltered corner with a blanket for my knees! I haven’t got a fire pit or chimenea yet but I might invest in one .... will see how it goes...
Good to hear bluesapphire is back, it would be lovely if gilly could pop back sometime too.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all and enjoy the little things ?

Gingster Tue 27-Oct-20 08:18:26

Good morning all from a dull Suffolk coast. The sunrise was lovely, but the clouds have taken over. We’re forecast rain and strong winds later, so I must get my pansies In while i can. ?.

Had a nice chat to our neighbour (the nice, friendly one) yesterday afternoon in the sunshine until the heavens opened and we ran for home. It’s good to catch up on all the goings on here as we only spend half our time here. Lots has happened since we were here a month ago.

Did anyone watch The Sister last night? I thought I’d read the book but it’s an entirely different story. It’s on for 4 nights so I will stick with it, but I found it a bit slow with lots of standing around looking at each other and not saying anything. I missed the Who do you think you are with Ruth Jones. I’ll get it on catch-up.

Not much doing today. Clear out the pantry to see what’s lurking. Probably need to throw lots away (which I hate doing).

Enjoy your day everyone ???

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold, grey South Yorkshire. It rained all day yesterday. I made Cornish Pasties to cheer up GS’s incarceration, and will take them over later today. DH said “why don’t you just buy him some?” I gave him a look! If things were anything like normal, he would be over here this week, making his own Cornish pasties - and a monumental mess of my kitchen probably. Love it! Whatever you are doing today, be safe.

Annapops Tue 27-Oct-20 08:24:45

Good morning from a cloudy County Durham.

Supermarket delivery this morning and maybe a short treadmill run later.

We're picking up three of the GC this afternoon for a trip to a museum in Stockton. There is a scarecrow trail which we've managed to get tickets for, so should keep little ones entertained for a while. Forecast is rain though.

Yesterday GC went pumpkin picking with mum in a very muddy farmer's field. I met up with them later in the afternoon in the grounds of an old seminary where staff were beginning to set up spidery displays in preparation for Friday's pumpkin trail. Young children today have very busy diaries it seems, but oh how I still love it. It's wonderful people are making such an effort to make these "covid" times as normal as can be for our little folk.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Susan56 Tue 27-Oct-20 08:35:55

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s raining and forecast to continue all day.

Our daughter is feeling better so we took DGD home yesterday. The house seems very quiet without her.

We had planned to ‘spring’ clean the conservatory today but DH has a bad back so that will have to wait for another day.

Ellan, I hope yesterday went well and there was a positive outcome for your family???

Have a good day all and keep safe and well.

Susan56 Tue 27-Oct-20 08:37:28

Cherry,I hope you’re ok and that I have just missed seeing your posts.x?

Good morning from a damp Morecambe Bay. We are off to our dentist in Manchester today. My grandparent’s doctor was my dentist’s grandfather. I used to see my dentist’s father as a child, now we see the son. He’s older than me! Don’t know what we will do for a dentist when he does retire. Wherever we have lived we have stayed with the same practice! It’s been expensive over the years, he must have been one of the first dentists to go private. However I still have all a full set of teeth! My parents drummed it into me that looking after my teeth was a priority, but at times I’ve really struggled to pay. My DC used to have fluoride treatment, a procedure they hated but none of them have ever had fillings!
While we are in Manchester it’s just possible that we may accidentally bump into DS2 who is off shift at the moment.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Lins1066 Tue 27-Oct-20 08:48:49

Good morning Mick and all from a wet S Welsh coast. Yesterday was dry so we walked along the sea front, perhaps blown along would be a better description. The waves were huge. Lovely Autumn colours Ashcombe.
I didn't see BlueSapphire's post until very late yesterday but it was a real pleasure ?
Your dog looks so cwtched there Scentia, you may be at work but it is easy to see who's the boss.
Glad you had a lovely afternoon with family Maw. It raises the spirits.
Nigella's carrot cake is a favourite here Pantglas, so moist and the icing is so good. Haven't made them for a while now, my mil loved them. Fish van due here about 1.30, he always has a lovely selection.
Hope everyone will have a pleasant day despite the weather.

Anniebach Tue 27-Oct-20 08:52:11

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Kalu Tue 27-Oct-20 09:03:58

Good morning all. Sharing the same cloudy start as Marydoll but no chilly wind thankfully.

Haven’t a clue, as to what I might do today but I haven’t given it much thought so, will just take what comes. ?

Hope all is well with you MellowYellow ?
What a lovely treat for you Maw. A meet up with family always does the trick to lift our mood.

Have a good day all especially our friends who are having troubling times.

Mapleleaf Tue 27-Oct-20 09:08:17

Good morning all,

It’s wet, grey and chilly in South Yorkshire today.
I’ve got a visit to the hairdresser today, but that’s about all that’s on the “going out” agenda.

Lovely to see that you posted yesterday BlueSapphire. Welcome back ?.

Take care everyone, and gilly hope you post again soon.

GrannySomerset Tue 27-Oct-20 09:09:30

Wet and windy in our part of North Somerset but no outdoor plans so it doesn’t matter. Enjoyed yesterday’s catch up with my WI friends - these interactions are so important for me now that DH is not much company, and I need to programme something every week.

DGD1 is isolating because a close school friend has tested positive. Not pleased, but she has plenty of half term work to occupy her and, as she noted, not much planned anyway.

Hope Ellan had a successful day yesterday.

Taichinan Tue 27-Oct-20 09:10:07

Good morning Mick and his early followers. It's a perfect autumn morning here on the Angus coast. This is the time of year when we get our best weather, when the prevailing winds come out of the west. I was another who got unsettling news yesterday evening - DD'S FiL, who has been in hospital for several weeks prior to an op scheduled for today, was diagnosed Covid positive yesterday in his pre-op checks. So the op is off and he's on oxygen, very poorly and terrified. And no visitors. Troubles never seem to come singly, and that couple have had a terrible time over the past few years.

I think maybe as this Covid situation just keeps on going we are all rather less resilient than we were.

Enjoy your tai chi today Grandmattie - I find it definitely raises the spirits. And it's lovely to read of everyone's outings and meetings-up. It's the little simple things that cheer. I am so looking forward to meeting up with "my lot" briefly at the weekend.

The sky here at the moment is quite amazing - the clouds are heralding the strong winds that are forecast - and showing where they're coming from! I think the hatches may have to be well and truly battened down!

Have a good day everyone and keep those big smiles pinned in place - they're every bit as infectious as Covid! ??
