Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in Brackley this morning .
Usual day of some housework etc, did my small shop in close by Waitrose ,and noticed some form of panic buying as to loo rolls .
Mind you the amount of click and collect plus online deliveries are busy .
As to the shopping trolleys ,noticed each shelter has sanitising where customers can clean down trolleys after use in the store .
Take care ,
Mick

Good morning all . Misty here too but the sun is trying to get through. ?

We went a little way along the coast to see if the usual Remembrance service was being held and yes it was. Always a lovely outside service standing on the beach near the memorial gardens. Lots of people there but keeping their distance. It’s always moving but more poignant this year. ?.

Ashcombe how annoying for you! There you were ‘minding your own business’. ?. Hope it doesn’t take too long to fix your car. ?.

I wish we had a Lidl or Aldi near here. The closest is about 30 - 40 minutes away. Such good value and I’m always surprised how small the bill is.

Hope Grandmafrench is feeling better. I don’t think we heard from her yesterday, did we? ?. Marydoll hope you are on the ‘up’. ?. Still no word from the farm lady. Perhaps she’s a sheep in WOLVES clothing? Do you think she was a spoof? I enjoyed her tales of farm life. Nothing from *Gilly either. It’s been a long time now. What a shame!

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day. Is it Monday??????.

An online exercise class for me this morning then nothing much else planned yet.
Enjoy your first trip out pantglas and your trip to Lidl ?
Hope all goes well today norsat and fingers definitely crossed pittcity
Hope everyone feeling poorly has a better day today and take
care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from Shropshire.Another damp and misty start.

Just heard from our daughter. Her Covid test is negative which is a relief. The three of them are now unwell so it looks like a virus.

Laundry day today and then will wrap DGD’s birthday gifts for next week.

BlueSapphire,I have added a photo of a book which I came across on the library’s online site which I thought you may like.

Glad you are unhurt Ashcombe but still a shock.

Hoping Marydoll,Grandmafrench and Cherry are all feeling brighter this morning and hoping your treatment goes well dragonfly.

Thinking of Ellan and gilly?

Have a good day all and stay safe.

harrigran Mon 09-Nov-20 08:13:16

Just heard that DH's friend, 94, and his wife 92 have been discharged from hospital having recovered from coronavirus.
It is lovely to receive such good news.

Good morning Mick, morning all from a grey and damp South Lanarkshire.

Glad it was only your car that was hurt Ashcombe.

Today himself will be golfing and I will walk down to the charity shops to pick up some Christmas cards. I had a look at my stash and there isn’t much left, I haven’t bought any for a few years, last year I made most of them and I’ll make a few for family this year.

A neighbour is collecting warm clothes to take to a charity for people who live on the streets of Glasgow so I will sort out our scarves, gloves and jackets and hand some things into her.

Hoping your husband has a comfortable day Grammaretto.

Have a good day and look after yourselves.

cornergran Mon 09-Nov-20 08:15:59

Morning Mick, morning All. Grey cloud over our corner of Somerset, dry at the moment. It should be an active (if not manic) Monday here. Plan to begin our task list. Wonder if we’ll really get anything done? Hope no after effects from that car bump Ashcombe, pleased your insurers are doing their stuff. Special thoughts to all managing health issues and other worries. Take care everyone.

Stilllearning Mon 09-Nov-20 08:19:02

Good morning, a bit murky at the moment in my bit of S Lanarkshire but brightness in the distance so may improve.
Well, I'm back in bed with my cup of tea having discovered that my humane mouse trap has indeed worked and an agitated mouse is running up and down inside the Perspex tube. A phone call to nearest daughter now, she said she would release it in a nearby field, (hopefully far enough away for it not to find it's way back!)
Ashcombe that's too bad about your bump, glad you'd okay. I added a link last evening to yesterday's thread about an online ballet I thought might interest you, although you may already know about it.
Good day wishes to everyone.

ginny Mon 09-Nov-20 08:26:01

Good Morning. Another dull damp start on N. Bucks.

Will be busy today. SILs birthday tomorrow so will pop a card and gift over. Hopefully a quick chat with him DD and DGS from the top of their drive.

Main business of the day will be all the preparation for decorating the lounge. I’ve also persuaded
DH that the carpet needs replacing. Must get in touch with the carpet man. Is he allowed in to measure up ?

DH will be doing most of the painting etc. but I’ll keep him supplied with drinks and a few treats as an incentive to keep going.

Hope you all find some ? today.

Ashcombe Mon 09-Nov-20 08:31:54

Thank you, Stillearning for thinking of me re the ballet link. I’ll have a look and share it with my DD and DGD.

Thank you, too, for all the kind messages re my shunt yesterday. Apart from a slight headache, I’m unscathed and looking forward to seeing what the hire car will be!

Lins1066 Mon 09-Nov-20 08:31:58

Good morning Mick and all. Grey cloud and dry on our part of the S Welsh coast too. Only two other households were out for the two minute silence yesterday.
Hope your review goes well Nortsat. Look after yourself Ashcombe, glad it was nothing more serious.
Our Firebreak lockdown has ended but we will still be very cautious, it seems to be too much freedom too soon to me.
Glad your daughter is fine Susan, I can feel your relief.
Take care everyone.

Georgesgran Mon 09-Nov-20 08:39:37

Good Morning from Durham. At the risk of repeating myself it raining again!
Hoping to have DGS sometime today so puddle jumping for us too.
My motto on insurance is ‘you only know how good it is when you need it’ but being hit from behind is clear cut - glad you weren’t hurt Ashcombe. I’ve just done DHs Insurance for another year and DD2 tells me the company’s a bit iffy - have to be extra careful!
I mentioned recently that it’s ‘sad’ to think that some posters are imposters and wondered just what they get out of it. The ‘airborne accessory’ was another who was deliberately argumentative to cause upset. In a past life I dealt with a variety of hoaxers - some heartbreaking stories that would make a stone cry.

Enough rambling - need to stir myself. Hope everyone has the best day today. X

Marydoll Mon 09-Nov-20 08:57:53

Good morning all from a very misty Glasgow, I suspect DH is playing with orange golf balls. ?️‍♂️⛳

Ashcombe, I hope you are ok, after your bump. You must have got such a fright!.
Years ago a builder's lorry ran into my car at traffic lights. His insurance company were LV and I was in A&E when they rang me to admit liability and offer me all sorts of help. I was astonished and most impressed. to say the least.

I got some worrying news yesterday. Four classes in DGD's, school, which is five minutes down the road, are having to self isolate due to Covid cases.
Its really upsetting because the staff are ex colleagues, some of whom I mentored as students and as newly qualified teachers. sad
Athough its not her class, I'm worried sick about my wee granddaughter, as she was shielding during the first lockdown.

Not meaning to upset anyone or tell you what to post, but in the light of recent suspensions on GN, it may be advisable not to speculate on the possibility of posters not being genuine. There was a traunch of email warnings last week to a number of posters about this, so best to keep your own counsel. GNHQ are taking no prisoners at the moment!!!!!

I am worrying about EV, I do hope its just Internet trouble again. I despair of ever hearing from our Gilly again.
Nortsat hoping your consultation is positive one. I find I'm quite anxious before them.

Auntieflo, I made the apple cake and like you, although very tasty, found it needed more liquid. DH suggested the addition of Calvados!!!!! ?

Enjoy your day folks and please don't take risks.

Anniebach Mon 09-Nov-20 08:58:42

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Alygran Mon 09-Nov-20 08:58:46

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is still grey and misty. It’s been like this since Friday.
Very moving Remembrance Sunday service on our village green yesterday.
Housework for me today, FaceTime with DGS after school to read some more of our book then board meeting by Zoom this evening.
Sending good wishes to all who are struggling. Hope the day is kind to us all. Stay safe.

Gelisajams Mon 09-Nov-20 09:10:35

Good morning. A different weather today. It’s misty with the sun breaking through!
Not a lot planned for today. I need to get myself organised to do things constructive. I have sewing and crochet to do but I keep finding excuses to sit with my I pad.
Glad you are basically ok Ashcombe
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

CherryCezzy Mon 09-Nov-20 09:11:29

Good morning everyone. It's grey and sulky in the Gower.

I slept very well last night, neighbour was quiet ?. I've got some phonecalls to make today, the type that play you jingles and rubbish songs and keep you in a queue forever ?. Happy days ?.
Though the Welsh firebreak has ended I'm not venturing out today, I think it may be a tad busy. I think we've come out of it too soon too.

MellowYellow, I haven't been beachcombing for ages. This end of the year tends to be a good time for it too. You've put the idea in my head now ?

Botherations Ashcombe! Just glad that you are alright. The car should be easily sorted.

I hope you are mistaken about Ellan Urmstongran and it's something more trivial (internet word ?) keeping her away.

Hope your review goes well Nortsat and your radiotherapy session dragonfly ?

Pleased that your DD hasn't got the virus Susan but sad to hear they have a virus.

Glad your DH had a reasonable night Grammaretto ?

Stay safe (and out of mischief ?) and be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

GrannySomerset Mon 09-Nov-20 09:19:05

Grey and still this morning, very suitable for a day with not much in it. We had a Zoom Remembrance Day service yesterday, different but poignant, and yet another indication of how far from normal life continues to be.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 09-Nov-20 09:19:11

Marydoll Calvados works really well in Apple Cake ?

Ashcombe take it easy today ?

MellowYellow Mon 09-Nov-20 09:30:25

Cherry beachcombing is an addiction with me!

GrannyOwl5 Mon 09-Nov-20 09:36:16

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is grey and damp.
Nothing much planned for today at the moment. Will probably take my exercise outing towards DH’s allotment, where he is tidying the shed, just in a supervisory capacity. Might do some housework later - then again might not!

Glad you are ok Ashcombe after your shunt and good to hear your insurance company is dealing efficiently with it.

Hope the consultation goes well Nortsat; another radiotherapy treatment ticked off Dragonfly. Enjoy your walk Grammaretto.

Hope everyone has a good Monday. Stay safe

BlueSapphire Mon 09-Nov-20 09:38:25

Good morning from a very grey and damp Northampton. Will not be venturing out today!

I must wrap DGD's birthday present today and write her card - can't believe she will be 13 on Thursday! Where has the time gone? I will put the present and card in my front porch then DS or his partner can pick them up, or hopefully they will bring her down. Sadly I will only get to see them through my front door glass, as DS deems it too risky to have contact.

Had text from the opticians to say that my new glasses are now ready, so will ask DD if she can drop me off to pick them up on Saturday.

Spent yesterday evening catching up on programmes I'd recorded over the weekend, but made time to watch the new series of Canal Journeys, this time with Sheila Hancock and Gyles Brandreth. Shall miss Timothy West and Prunella Scales.

Stay safe everyone.

Marydoll Mon 09-Nov-20 10:04:00

I have tried to send a PM to EllanVannin, but she is not receiving them.

Either she has left, which I don't think for a moment or she has had her account deactivated by HQ.

Namsnanny Mon 09-Nov-20 10:04:40

Good morning all. Grey wet and misty, although not so much as yesterday.
Have a good a day as you can everyone,

Blossoming Mon 09-Nov-20 10:11:29

Good morning all. I don’t know what the weather is like today as I’m still in bed after a rough night. Stay safe and well.

Mapleleaf Mon 09-Nov-20 10:15:47

Good morning everyone,

It's a rather dismal looking morning in my part of South Yorkshire today, but at least the fog has lifted.

I've a few garden jobs to be getting on with today and also a parcel to post so will get on with those shortly.

I'm sorry if EV has left or had her account deactivated, as I always liked reading her GM posts. I hope she is alright, whatever has happened. I hope that gillybob is also alright and that she at least manages to read the GM thread occasionally. ?

Take care everyone.
