I love Spring! For me it means the long winter months are finally behind us and the promise of summer is to follow. Spring means new life and I just love all the baby animals, wildlife, spring flowers and blossom. The warmth of the sun on your face is the best tonic.

Autumn, with scrunchy leaves, open fires and late bbq’s, I do enjoy summer as long as it’s not too hot.

I agree about January, Witzend. It seems such a long, dark, dismal month. As you say, all the brightness of the Christmas season is largely over (certainly by twelfth night), and there are not the signs of spring awakening to brighten us with a hint of what’s to come. I’m always happy to welcome February, because by then, the hours of daylight are gradually increasing even though it’s still the depths of winter.

I’m another one who loves the spring. Winter is behind us and the coming year is full of promise. Everything is so new clean and fresh. I really love seeing the different greens as trees come into leaf. I don’t particularly dislike the other seasons as each has something to enjoy but the month of November just has nothing going for it!

Spring especially April and May when the blossom is out.

Spring is definitely my favourite. I love the feeling of optimism, the thought that Summer is coming, and - best of all - the days are growing longer.
I always feel a sense of sadness after June 21, knowing the days will grow shorter.

Spring for me without hesitation. Always full of promise and hope. Just lovely.

It used to be summer, but I'd say Spring of late, when everything is beginning to green up and crocuses and daffodils appear. I can't wait for warmer weather, although I hate unbearably hot days.

I find myself always looking forward to Spring. I love the weather getting better.

Spring! I've been in the garden and although it's cold there's signs of life everywhere (mostly weeds!) OH actually got the mower out today. I've got a couple of big tubs of Tete a Tete daffs in the courtyard that look very jolly and I've dusted off the propagator. Spring is all about looking forward and I think as I get older that's really quite important.

All of them really, winter I like the least, hate the cold, dark mornings and afternoons, but I love curling up in front of the fire, I love cold frosty days (as long as I don’t have to drive anywhere)
Right now I’m longing for spring.

Summer! Love the warm weather, long sunny days, lightweight clothes and open sandals, eating and drinking al fresco, and as in our previous life, holidays!

autumn then spring then winter then summer. I loathe heat, get bitten to ribbons by mozzies and have summer hay fever sad

Kartush Sat 06-Mar-21 10:43:24

Winter, you can wear 10 layers of clothing to keep warm, in summer there is a limit to how much you can take off to cool down without traumatising the neighbours

Lucca Sat 06-Mar-21 10:44:19

Without a shadow of doubt for me it’s summer. Tennis several times a week without the thermals, being outside, being warm, bright colours.

Minerva Sat 06-Mar-21 10:51:43

Spring for me. I hate Winter when it is too cold, too wet or too slippery to walk in the woods or even in my garden. Spring so full of hope and the days getting longer inch by inch. Summer is ok so long as we don’t have a prolonged hot spell in which case I suffer health-wise. I am conflicted about Autumn; so beautiful but somehow reminds me that I am old and also shutting down bit by bit with little chance of bursting into bloom again. sad

Winter, autumn spring and lastly summer.

inishowen Sat 06-Mar-21 10:59:14

Early spring. The garden is coming back to life. Yesterday I came across a new shrub which is apparently an elderflower. Dont know where it came from, but nature has her own ideas.

Cherrytree59 Sat 06-Mar-21 10:59:48

Spring ?
What's not to love daffodils and cherry tree blossom.

Easter my favourite festival.
Love the Easter bunny?

Fingers crossed for Easter egg hunt with (bubble grandchildren) this year.?

I was almost in tears at missing out last year, until my lovely DD WhatsApped my grandchildren having great fun easter egg hunting in her garden.?

I love the winter, especially when we get frost and snow.

No gardening to bother about, plenty of time for reading, sewing or knitting, Christmas and long evenings snug and warm indoors.

henetha Sat 06-Mar-21 11:12:29

Spring and autumn. Spring is just in the lead I think because autumn means that winter is ahead. Spring holds such promise.

Roxie62 Sat 06-Mar-21 11:14:24

I love Spring/Summer. Nice to sit in the garden with a nice cold glass of wine.

Diggingdoris Sat 06-Mar-21 11:17:24

Definitely spring! As a keen gardener I love seeing the new buds on everything. Then when a flower or leaf emerges it's nature's miracle.
