If you are a member of the RF you live a life of luxury. Everything is done for you. Charles doesn’t even put toothpaste on his brush himself. They live in fabulous palaces and have teams of servants.
If you are a single mum living in a tower block, trying to exist on a cleaners pay - that’s trapped. H and M don’t know the meaning of being trapped.

It's true that if you are bitter and resentful you are not attractive and I think H&M have lost much of their attractiveness.
Family feuds are awful (as we learn on the estrangement threads on here).
In my own experience it's the person holding the grudge who is most unhappy so come on H&M get a grip, apologise and see if you can do some damage limitation and some real honest work..

I'm not talking about weddings I'm talking about royal weddings and visits. Reporters say things like "just what the country needs to cheer us up.. . a royal wedding." As if its some magical medicine to make us forget our problems. Why do they have this effect I wonder.

I'd suggest it's because they represent hope for the future and as weddings are a celebration, for many people feeling included in that by being able to spectate either in person on the street, or on TV, gives them a reason to feel hopeful and celebratory too. As for visits, it's a change of routine - many charities and organisations do thankless things and to be 'noticed' by the press that usually accompanies a royal visit often gives them a profile and donation boost. Plus, as stated by grandmajet above, someone external taking the time and trouble to learn about what a place does and being able to validate it makes a difference. It brings people together and most don't see that as a bad thing. It doesn't have to or need to be that way for anyone who doesn't feel the same.

i don't see why a royal wedding should give anyone hope for the future?
Of course it's good for charities to get publicity but my original point was that it can't be classified as work.

Well, if you have to face negativity and derision on a daily basis, intermingled with sycophancy and adoration and keep a smile on your face all the way through it whilst travelling the country and world, I'd call that work and no one would be able to pay me enough to do it.

Royal weddings give some people hope for the future because they tend to be optimistic types. People are different - some are determined to be miserable and unpleasant and could find fault with everything - it's all a choice.
