Morning from S Lanarkshire, lovely blue sky, such a nice thing to wake up to. Good to ‘see’ see you yesterday Urmstongran, I know how debilitating anxiety can be, I do hope yours will be alleviated next week.

I had a wee look at your theatre Ashcombe, it looks lovely. It’s clearly a big part of your life, you must be missing the camaraderie as well as the actual performing.

I hope all the outings and reunions yesterday were wonderful and that any planned for today are also good. I am looking forward so much to when we can share cars and I can plan outings too! I long for a trip to the coast, even with the windows open!
Welcome to all the new posters and have a lovely day all ??

Alygran Sat 17-Apr-21 08:12:21

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another lovely sunny day here.
I had a productive day yesterday, paths and patio cleaned and I had my hair cut.
I’m off food shopping shortly. More gardening later, tackling the moss on the front lawn.
Harrigan flowers take care of yourself. You are having a tough time.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Morning Mick and all

Beautiful clear blue sky but boy is it chilly outside.

DH has had to go into work this morning to open-up first time in over four years! This is because DS4 is recovering from his op yesterday (he is already at home, no hanging around for a rest due to Covid restrictions, DiL is making him stay upstairs away from the GC and ensuring he rests). DS3 and family are on a camping trip which had been postponed several times due to Covid, DD is busy with the boys, so himself has stepped up. Fortunately the staff know what they are doing so no doubt DH will just enjoy being away from me and I get an empty

Will wander down to the local butchers to get something for dinner today and tomorrow, no other plans.

Lovely photos

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning from sunny Cheshire.
Had my second jab yesterday ( Oxford ) and feel FINE ! Was rough with the first one so delighted.
Will probably watch the funeral this afternoon but , as another poster has already said , not for six hours.
Hope for a pleasant weekend for all.

Jaxjacky Sat 17-Apr-21 08:24:13

Good morning all from a frosty, sunny S Hants, enjoy your trip out Mick. Welcome to all the new morningers and Happy Birthday Shelflife ??. Gaga Saturday is my newspaper day too, the crossword lasts me all week. DD and the two GC’s came for bbq yesterday, it got cold as the clouds came over and we were sat in shade, out with the blankets. It was so good to see them, so hard not hugging. I’ll be allotmenting, seed sowing and watering this weekend. DS is dropping by later today with his new GF; I’ve heard not very good things about her, I’ll reserve judgment.
Beauregard there is a squash with your name!.
Have a lovely day all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Another frosty start in South Yorkshire but very bright. When it warms up a tad outside I have some more potting on to do. We will watch the funeral this afternoon and I will try and fit in some baking somewhere today. No idea yet what we will be eating today so I had better get my thinking cap on! Maybe shepherds pie....
Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s another bright, sunny day here in South Lanarkshire.

Welcome back Urms and hello to all the new posters. We rewatched every episode of LofD ahead of this new series starting batty, it hasn’t stopped DH asking me what’s going on every five minutes.

Sorry to hear about your DH and DS, harrigran, I hope you all have a better day today.

It was so lovely to see my DD and family, life is beginning to feel a little more relaxed.

I’ve woken up with a stinker of a cold though so won’t be doing anything much today.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Jaxjacky Sat 17-Apr-21 08:26:53

Oh, nearly forgot, haircut later today in the garden, so much going on where there’s been not much for months!

BlueSapphire Sat 17-Apr-21 08:28:59

Good morning everyone from DD's in a bright and sunny ? East Northants. Still in bed and waiting for movement from the household. Hope it's not as cold as it was yesterday, when I walked round to a friend's to deliver her birthday present and card. Also saw mutual friends who had arrived at the same time as me to deliver card and present. We had a nice socially distant chat in her front garden.

Celebrations last night as my rugby team won! It was a cracking match with two good teams playing fast flowing rugby. We commented on how it would have been a lovely evening to be there in person, great atmosphere under the lights. We could see our empty seats and sighed.... Hopefully it won't be too long.

Don't know what plans are afoot for today, but I expect we shall watch the funeral. And I think fish and chips for dinner tonight.

Oh I nearly forgot, must ring DSis to wish her a happy birthday.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow.
I'm popping in to say Good Morning and then back out again. DH has been up all night with a stomach bug and I have had very little sleep. (I am a very grumpy lady!) He is never ill, so it is a bit of a shock for him, he is a terrible patient and does not cope well.
Reluctantly, I shall have to do a bit of role reversal, put on my matron's cap, provide some patient TLC (note the pun) and bite my tongue!!! wink.

So many new faces over the last few days, it's becoming more like the Kitchen every day! A warm welcome to all the newcomers.

Mick, take care and don't push yourself after your scare the other day! Being out in the cold for too long is not good for those with heart problems.

Thinking of all our regular missing posters and all who are struggling.

EkwaNimitee Sat 17-Apr-21 08:35:49

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a sunny dry Carlisle...at last. It's a year since I sold my last place!
Jaxjacky, thank you, my move went very smoothly. The removers arrived on Thursday at 8am to pack up the remaining few items they had left me with overnight. We were all out by 9am and I went down to Whitehaven to turn in my keys. By the time I arrived in Carlisle, the guys were unloading my stuff. They did a brilliant job both ends, such hard work and they barely stopped, sustained by coffee and biscuits by me. One of them was a skinny little fellow in his fifties I guess, but up and down stairs constantly with heavy boxes. I have an awful lot of books....They were gone soon after 1pm, to do yet more work. I took it easy, it's been a tiring few days, cleaning and packing . One priority, though, was getting the internet going, not quite as simple as BT had suggested in their instruction leaflet with my new hub. With the help of the site manager, it was achieved though my landline isn't working. Apparently a cable fault in the house, not BT.
Next week will bring a big shopping spree as I have no storage whatsoever upstairs and need wardrobes, chests etc, etc. My previous home was all fitted furniture and shelving all installed by my DIY expert DH.
Today, more box opening. I am wondering why one old lady needs so much stuff! And I have to tackle all the tedious admin...changing my address with an endless list of organisations etc. In spite of this, I shall be watching the DoE's final journey.
harrigran I do hope you and your DH and your DS have a better day today. And you too, Cherry, what a difficult time you are having with your health and your neighbour.
One thing I have unpacked is my very own pink flamingo, I'm hoping he likes his new home!
A nice sunny day to all.

Anniebach Sat 17-Apr-21 08:41:32

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Gingster Sat 17-Apr-21 08:48:56

Good morning all from a sunny and slightly warmer Suffolk Coast.

Had a lovely long walk along the beach yesterday and we were tired when we got back so decided to have a-free afternoon with no painting . The summerhouse is proving to be a big job, so we might have to call on DS1 and 2. They keep offering to help so now might be the time. We’ll see !

Ash your theatre looks lovely. What a shame Olddudders won’t be able to be in it.

Harrigran* I hope your DH and DS are feeling better today ?

GG get well wishes for your DS.

Nannytopsy have a lovely day at Dunwich with your family.
Will you have fish and chips from the beach cafe?

I will settle down this afternoon to watch the funeral but will dip in and out as the coverage will be on for a long time.

A happy day to all ????

dragonfly46 Sat 17-Apr-21 08:50:32

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Yesterday was a very sad day, it was my friend’s husband’s funeral.
Then I heard Helen McCrory had died.

I hope you have and your DH have a better day today Harrigan flowers.

Taichinan Sat 17-Apr-21 08:51:43

Good morning all from the Angus coast. It's another blue sky and frost start, but there's a little more cloud about today.
Lovely to - eventually - read everyone's news from yesterday and to see you posting again Urms. We missed you. And welcome to all the newbies -I'm sure you'll enjoy this thread.
I'm off out to get my hair cut shortly - the first time since before Christmas. When I wear a hairband it looks quite presentable, but the ears can manage only so much behind them. Heating aids, spectacle legs, mask elastic (oh the joys of advancing years!) - the ends of the hairband are just a thing too far!!
I have to pass M&S on my way to the hairdresser's, so a dip into the food store is a definite must. I've been having withdrawal symptoms! I shall also pop in to see my niece for a garden chat and cuppa after my haircut, so a lovely day in store. I feel bad that I shall have to miss the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral, but I rather think there will be a good deal of re-run in the News. I do wish the BBC wouldn't go so over-the-top on these big occasions!
Anyway, off I go - and I hope the roads aren't too overcrowded now that the travelling rules have been eased in Scotland. I know in some places they are dreading the "dirty camping" starting up again. Harrigran you are having such a hard time just now - just remember to grab a little time for you ?
For everyone, may your troubles feel less and your blessings be many ☀️???

Oldbutstilluseful Sat 17-Apr-21 08:52:03

Good morning from a sunny but frosty North Hampshire. I’m so pleased to see you posting, Urmstongran, but very sorry to know you are struggling on some days. I hope that the scan next week goes well and the results are all good.

So many posters here are coping with so much, so thoughts are with Cherry, harrigan and any others I may have missed.

I managed a walk (well, hobble really) through a beautiful primrose wood yesterday. The scent was wonderful. My photos don’t compare to all the marvellous seascapes that are posted, but here goes anyway.

Wishing you all a good or even better day today. I will watch the funeral, but not for hours.

Stilllearning Sat 17-Apr-21 08:56:26

baubles, I have every sympathy with your husband! Having no one on hand to ask, I just sit through it bewildered and the moment it’s finished I ‘phone a friend’ and we try to sort it out!
It usually sounds as if we have been watching different programmes and we are both convinced we are right. Grandmabatty we need to form a group?!

Marydoll Sat 17-Apr-21 08:57:19

EkwaNimitee, glad to hear you are settled in.

I forgot to say that the fish van visit was a success.....eventually.

The fish was lovely, so fresh and the batter wasn't too bad either!

Georgesgran Sat 17-Apr-21 09:08:47

Good morning from a bright, sunny but cold Durham.

Not keen on weekends, but going with DD2 later to a craft market, re-opening near her home. Remember - we aren’t ‘out of the woods’ yet, so stay safe. We can’t afford to trip up now.
May watch some of PP’s Funeral later - will remind me of DH’s less than a month ago. We were only allowed 15 mourners and his coffin was painted green to reflect his love of the countryside.

So sorry to hear Harrigran is having a rough time - I hope things improve.

Hope everyone has a good day. X

LauraNorder Sat 17-Apr-21 09:31:45

Good morning all from sunny Anglesey, bright blue skies, blossom on the trees and lambs gambolling in the fields. Isn’t Britain beautiful.
Happy birthday ? Shelflife ? have a lovely day.
Glad your son is recovering well GG.
Welcome to all newcomers and a wave to those who like to read but not post. You’re all included in a wish for a random pink flamingo all round.
??cupcake

I have a bit of bunting in the little granddaughter’s room. Very cheery as you say Urms

grandmajet Sat 17-Apr-21 09:36:07

Taichinan, I love the idea of heating aids behind the ears! ?

GrannySomerset Sat 17-Apr-21 09:39:31

Lovely morning though still chilly. A trio of jackdaws have been excavating the lawn at the back (grubs of some sort presumably) and it is now covered with tufts of grass. Looks most peculiar.

Hair dresser this morning (hurrah) and probably will watch the funeral but not much else in view. Could rake the lawn I suppose, but will wait till the birds have finished making such a mess.
