Just picked this up on new site. headlines DM

Harry and Meghan confirm they DID buy 'Lilibetdiana.com' domain name 'BEFORE the Queen approved their daughter's name' (and registered LiliDiana.com FOUR days before birth)

Ellianne Tue 22-Jun-21 13:05:12

Oh dear! Maybe they were hedging their bets.

merlotgran Tue 22-Jun-21 14:37:39

On the domain profile it's listed as, LiliBetDiana which sounds like an online gambling site. grin

Any one else notice Prince Charles is looking very flushed in the face lately? Wondering if he is on BP medication for the stress his youngest is putting him through??

Anniebach Tue 22-Jun-21 18:50:34

Yes, he does look very flushed, he is under a lot of strain.

Dryginger Wed 23-Jun-21 06:59:01

Perhaps his turned to drink!
I hear he likes a tipple like his beloved granmama.

FannyCornforth Wed 23-Jun-21 07:16:10

Hello all - hope you are well
Charles has got incredibly swollen fingers; it's often commented about.
I'm not sure what it's a symptom of.

FannyCornforth Wed 23-Jun-21 07:23:21

Sparklefizz

Thanks Anniebach for describing what happened with the Queen in Aberfan.

Yes, thank you Annie, very interesting.

I've watched a few episodes of series 3 over the past few days, but I skipped the Aberfan one as I didn't want to watch something so upsetting.

I'm warming to Colman as HM.
But HBC just seems like HBC to me, and not Margaret.

I've said this many times before, so forgive me, but Craig Brown's biography of Princess Margaret is a work of genius - I urge you to read it!

Sparklefizz Wed 23-Jun-21 07:58:36

Charles' fingers are horrible - like sausages - but I noticed in some old photographs of him 20+ years ago that he had fat fingers then too, so it's not a recent thing.

Galaxy Wed 23-Jun-21 08:16:00

Charles has been red for a long time I assume he had rosacea, I have it so take a vague interest.

Ellianne Wed 23-Jun-21 08:58:13

Im not medical, but is it in any way linked to the problem his brother has regarding the inability to sweat? hmm

Casdon Wed 23-Jun-21 21:33:02

Here’s a useful/less Royal fact I just discovered. Mary Killen, of Giles and Mary on Gogglebox fame, has written a book about etiquette (her specialist subject) called How the Queen can make you happy! Who’d have thought it.

I've just had a quick look at that book - it's nearly ten years old. It's got a horrible cover!
Mary Killen writes about etiquette and is a sort of agony aunt in the Spectator.

It’s been on the news today that Charles continued to financially support Harry despite Harry claiming he was ‘literally’ cut off.

pinkquartz Thu 24-Jun-21 12:24:03

Does this mean that essentially we are still funding the gruesome twosome?

Whatdayisit Thu 24-Jun-21 12:47:09

It was sort of explained that the last payment was in the first quarter of the financial year which is what H had meant but it had been taken as the first quarter of last year immediately after megxit.

This was Prince Charles's money from the Duchy of Cornwall.

Not according to that article. It said they are financially independent.

Whatdayisit Thu 24-Jun-21 13:01:32

Yes Harry still had a bit left from his mum M had her money and now their Netflix and Disney.

Ellianne Thu 24-Jun-21 13:04:20

Well that's good it's all sorted. What wasn't good was Harry's song and dance about it to the whole wide world.

Mollygo Thu 24-Jun-21 13:55:53

Still RF, but on a different subject, does anyone on here know when invites for presentation of MBE might start again?

Callistemon Thu 24-Jun-21 14:01:36

pinkquartz

Charles funds them out of his own income, not from what he is paid from the Sovereign Grant for deputising for HM

Callistemon Thu 24-Jun-21 14:03:19

Funded, sorry, as the mean father cut them off without a penny to their name.

As do many parents when their DC are in their 30s

Moving on to different bit of Royal chat.

Have just finished reading ‘The Little Princesses’, the book published about 1950 that was written by the governess of Elizabeth and Margaret, Crawfie.

I already knew that she was ostracised by all the royal family after its publication. She had devoted 16 years of her life to looking after the girls, especially during the war years. She postponed her own marriage because of this. When she broached the subject of leaving, the then Queen (Mother) said it really wouldn’t be convenient!

The Queen Mother, our present Queen and Princess Margaret never spoke to her again, never got in touch, didn’t send a wreath to her funeral.

After her marriage, she was given a Grace and Favour cottage by the King for her lifetime, this was forfeited after the book.

Ironically, it was Nottingham Cottage, part of Kensington Palace, later the home of Harry and Meghan.

The book was hardly kiss and tell, it gushed with compliments and love for her charges and their family.
