Good Morning Everyone,
Its a cloudy start but the ground is dry at the moment here in Brackley .
Today , a busy one in away , housework followed by a haircut , then late morning get the bus to Bicester for usual hour, then return to relax with Tour De France on Tv and watch it slowly unfold as no twp. stages are the same , mainly seeing how the Brits perform.
Take Care ,
Mick

It's been so sad to read the news from Panache and Grandmajet's family.

I should be off out on a walk today as mentioned early but walking around our building site five hours ago I fell backwards after stepping up one level of ground to another. Soft landing but couldn't get up and when helped up I couldn't put any weight on my left foot. Knee pain. So doing the RICE bit and just talked to the doctor on the phone. Going to try to put weight on it in a couple of hours to see what the pain is like. She said it could be a broken fibia.

My poor DD. She is so lovely. Helped so much whilst MrM was busy with two lots of workmen we've hear today. I've insisted she gets the walk in with DGD and MrM is popping in every hour and has his phone with him.

I have my book, tennis and laptop to keep my mind off it all.

It's ok annsixty, I knew what you meant because I remember you having the same op. Fortunately I have been blessed with a very strong body (so the medics/osteopaths tell me) and I do stick to the advice given, so I am being careful. For both hip replacements I've told my consultant that I am naturally an overdoer of things and each time he's said don't worry, your body will let you know when to stop and he's right!

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a very warm and sunny Carlisle where I've had to be out watering the new lawn yet again.
I have constantly wondered about Grandmajet and beginning to fear the worst. I'm sad that's now true, she was a brave lady. Thank you, brook.
I won't witter on but wish you all a good day.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest Lancashire coast.
So sorry to hear about Grandmajet and just shows how fragile life is. It really brings it home to you.
Lovely day yesterday at Harewood House then handsome Harrogate. Another stately pile ticked off the list. A lot was made of the fact that much of the money came from the West Indies sugar plantations but “Strange Fruit” playing in the nearby 15th century church as I looked at the very ancient alabaster figures on the tombs (faces and hands bashed up) seemed a strange choice of music.
Lots of walking yesterday so just a quiet day today, catching up on some telephoning.
Yes Grandmafrench I will see how this wonky knee goes on and maybe take it further if no improvement, thank you.
Hope you all have a nice day and thoughts to the worried.

Such sad news about Grandmajet that has brought us all down, thank you brook2704 for passing on our support. Jackjaxy* you had a day of it! Hope FiL recovers well, and many congrats to your GD, no wonder you are all proud.. Hope you feel better soon Marydoll

GD's school has decided to have their summer concert outside, we are encouraged to bring chairs and picnics. I think it is a lovely idea as long as the weather holds out. Any ideas on what to take, as I have been tasked with providing the picnic for 5, which will have to double as a main meal?

annsixty Tue 29-Jun-21 10:03:52

Comma missing there.
I seem to indicate Alizarin had the same op as Grandma jet
apologies.

annsixty Tue 29-Jun-21 10:01:29

Good morning all.
Just popping in to send sincere condolences to the family of Grandmajet
It was very major surgery she was facing and she was so upbeat and brave.

I am also in awe of Alizarin having had the same op last year I know the restrictions, please don’t overdo it.

Best wishes to all on this thread, I read your doings everyday but life is so uneventful and mundane I don’t want to bore you by posting.

grandMattie Tue 29-Jun-21 09:59:59

Good morning Mick and all from hot, hot, humid Lueneburg. I could do with Grandmafrench`s swimming pool.
I just managed to tidy the garage and the shed a little bit yesterday. Mostly I was reading my book whilst lying on the sun lounge and that got rather boring. Rain and storms are forecast for tomorrow. I love the hare Gelisagram. So sad about Grandmajet. Marydoll I enjoy your mood lifting chats and I hope the hospital visit today goes smoothly. I had some lovely messages from my future neighbours - I think that is so sweet. Alizarin enjoy your allotment, but take it easy.
I shall be doing some weeding now before the rain starts and this evening I shall not watch "The football game" but peep in now and then. Have a gentle day all and keep well.

dustyangel Tue 29-Jun-21 09:36:52

Good morning all, I’ve just got completely sidetracked by reading the porridge thread but it’s a lovely day again, blue sky ,the sun halfway across the valley already and temperatures set to rise to 30°C later. The last bit I’m not too sure about.

I don’t know how you can find watching the tour relaxing Mick. It’s like some gigantic machine rushing by. Still fascinating though, even if as soon as I look away someone crashes.?

Nannagarra Tue 29-Jun-21 09:28:45

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
I’m so sad to read the news about grandmajet. Thank you brook for passing on our condolences. x

Mapleleaf Tue 29-Jun-21 09:07:13

Morning all from a gradually brightening sky - though there's still plenty of cloud about. I've risked putting the sheets in the wash with the aim of drying them outdoors, but time will tell - yesterday I had to bring in the washing as it began raining (just after I'd watered all the pot plants outside, too).

Sad news about Grandmajet. I send my condolences to her family ?. Thank you Brook for letting us all know. She was a brave lady.

Take care, everyone.

hulahoop Tue 29-Jun-21 09:05:13

I’ve been trying to take a break from social media but have ‘looked in’ to GN to see how everyone is. I am very sorry to read the news of Grandmajet. She took such a brave decision to go for surgery, knowing the risk.

aggie Tue 29-Jun-21 08:52:31

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Grey but dry so far in Suffolk.

Sad news this morning about GrandmaJet. Thank you Brook

We are off to Derbyshire shortly so we shall have company for the football which will be a lively game we hope.
Andy Murray’s match was very exciting last night - even DH was interested!
I stocked up at the supermarket yesterday and opened the car boot to find it full of mushroom compost! I had completely forgotten it, although I had been noticing a strange, musty smell. Shopping had to fit onto the back seat along with the other rubbish which is normally in the boot.

Well done on getting back to your allotment so soon Alizarin and I hope you enjoy your visit today.
Enjoy your day everyone and I hope it is kind to us all.
