LauraNorder I have to prefer top left. Not because I have exquisite taste, but because some shade between cream and primrose yellow is the traditional finish for rendered houses here in Sarthe, France. And the shades do vary, even between adjacent dwellings, but all have a warm aspect - even brand new houses. The individuality is retained by the choice of colour for the shutters - standard fitment here - which varies from varnished wood to some quite dramatic shades of pink or purple.

Those surmising that DW Ashcombe has been very welcome here are so right! She is scurrying around trying to avoid my having to do much that requires lifting and/or bending. I could get used to this! Thanks to all those wishing me well.

Good morning from Ayrshire. Calm grey day. Have just had a walk with a friend. Offered to drive her to her hospital appointment this afternoon but she’s not willing to car share as there is so much Covid around. Thanks for comments of sympathy yesterday when I was feeling low. Enjoyed watching Downton Abbey the movie on Netflix last night and also highlights from Edinburgh Tattoos.

What a busy morning so far. I, of course, have had to wash up after breakfast. spent an hour trying to find a telephone number where I can speak to a person on Argos, where I thought I might buy the replacement one. eventually I messaged them! I can buy the machine for £549, or £659 if I want delivery, installation and recycling - that's a lot, considering we can dispose of such things free here, by contacting The Idle Scrapman!! They couldn't give me a breakdown of prices, so I told them to stuff it!!
I mighty still get it from there when I find out how much our local chap will charge for installation of the new and removal of the old!
My hearing aid also went Phut yesterday, so I have been in touch with York District Hosp about repairs - I have found it's predecessor but can't remember how to use it (see if I can google it). Using the old one means I shall run short of batteries, so I've phoned Harrogate District hospital about that. For some reason Harrogate deals with my left ear and York my right ear, yes it does get confusing!! It would appear ne'er the twain do meet!
I shall have a search for that recipe Laura- actually maybe the rest would like it (assuming I have not thrown it out)
As for pain colours, the lower right looked good, unless you are in a dull spot (which I doubt) when the cream would be good

I shall try to read up on the missed posts

Good morning Mick and all from cool grey Carlisle, it's trying to brighten up but not trying very hard!
A day of part housework, part sorting out my spare bedrooms and the stuff I have emptied from my boxes. I'd like to think I'm up to a little work in the garden but we shall see.

Lala is beautiful Ash I loved the donkeys at the sanctuary. They send me pictures of Zena , my adopted donkey. I had one a few weeks ago and have only just noticed that DH has put her picture in front of a photo of me !! Not sure what that means but can guess.

I adopted a donkey two years ago whilst on holiday in Dorset. Fortunately , you only help to pay for your chosen donkey's upkeep. It does not come to live with you !

Grandmajean: the picture shows our smallholding friend four years ago with a two week old orphaned donkey in her kitchen where she (Lala) lived for several weeks. Lala is now herself a mother.

Grammaretto: thank you for that kind comment! I'm beginning to realise what life was like for my late mother as my late father had a heart condition and, in his later years, she waited on him hand, foot and finger. I'm certainly sleeping well!

Can I second what Urms said Elizabeth, I admire your spirit too.

Anglesey is the island where pebbledash came to die. Once upon a time it was very grey and gloomy. Mid 90s and there was a sudden trend for yellow houses of varying shades, looked great on sunny days but dull and dirty on gloomy days, put me off yellow houses in the U.K. for life.
They look great in sunny places with a different light.
There’s now a trend for light greys as in top right but as the front of the house faces north I fear a gloomy look. NB the grey shed which was so spooky looking I had to paint flowers on it.
So taking in to account Anglesey light The choice is between the bottom two. Thanks for your opinions, especially those who agree with me ?

Good morning all, it’s a bit grey again , no rain so need to get the watering can out, I don’t mind….. it gives me a chance to enjoy individual plants
We had a visitor yesterday , she and her husband had covid early on . He was ok but she fell getting out of bed so he rang for an ambulance and she was straight into intensive care . She says she hadn’t felt too ill and thinks the lack of oxygen was so low that made her trip , she is in her mid fifties
I am hoping to see our missing friends back here soon , I keep checking back , sending best wishes ?

Thanks Maria. I have been asking dh to phone the doc to change the statins. It’s worth a try. ?

gingster I too suffered from heavy legs when first prescribed statins however the doctor was able to prescribe another brand and I was soon able to dash about again. It is a known side effect but easily fixed.

Another day with not much planned, I have hurt my knee so need to rest it and some gentle exercise.

Good morning everyone from a dry and fairly cold start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. Another day another dawn as they say. Nothing much planned for today except to try and stay away from that cosy bed once up I’m showered and dressed. The central heating had to be kick started back into life yesterday for a quick half hour while himself was out at his boys club He’s not a lover of the central heating being on if I remember right .

While I was on my Tod last night I fondly watched the Edinburgh tattoo on tv remembering having been there in person a few years ago when my nephew from Australia paid for vip tickets to go with me (it was on his bucket list) we even had a meal in the castle itself, what a treat that was.
