M&S Christmas Light-up Gin! ???

Hurray! ?
It’s in stock at Ocado, and it’s also in my basket! (Both Clementine and Sugared Plum; sadly Madagascan Vanilla was - already, how? - out of stock ?)
I must admit, the bottles aren’t anywhere near as nice as last year’s

Speaking of last year, M&S used it in every inch of their advertising; and I never saw hide nor hair of it in reality.

How disappointing that this year's offering is a poor show. M&S is going to the dogs.

You can buy a case of 6 for £120 grin should you have that sort of money

Lizzie I’m not even buying one bottle of the stuff.
I’ve removed them both from my basket.

I was only in it for the lights and the pretty bottle.
These ones have neither.

As for the gin itself, I’ll drink any old stuff. I am fussy about the mixer though

Fanny is in a right M&S strop grin

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sep-21 14:07:27

what about this?

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sep-21 14:09:27

I bet you like fevertree don't you? My milkman delivers it. He is incredibly useful but apparently there are two according to my youngest who has the front bedroom. He said one dresses all in black and has his hood up and the other one has a very shiny head. I reckon they are the same person grin

It DOES light up, Fanny

Well, after a wander on the M&S site three tree ornaments are now ordered. I don’t like gin, so that’s my excuse.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 10-Sep-21 15:16:31

I have just had an email from M & S and they are advertising light up gin snow globe bottles.

I would put them back in your basket FannyCornforth

GrannyGravy13 Fri 10-Sep-21 15:18:36

Hopefully picture will show

That’s the 2020 one Lizzie sad
Thank you for looking though smile
I’ve tried to get a picture of the 2021 excuse for a festive treat, but I can’t do it

The duplicitous buggers envy
Honestly, GG they don’t light up.
Have a look on Ocado if you can for the description
No mention of lights, just gold flake

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sep-21 15:31:06

I looked on ocado and it says

*Other Information
Safety Warning:
WARNING
Pull tab to remove base label before recycling bottle and discard batteries in your local collection centre*

which would suggest there is a battery at the bottom of the bottle and I can't think of any other reason it would be there Fanny

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sep-21 15:31:44

That was on the Clementine desription

FannyCornforth Fri 10-Sep-21 15:32:10

Oh! shock

FannyCornforth Fri 10-Sep-21 15:32:59

But there’s nothing in the main description, and you definitely can’t see lights in the photos

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sep-21 15:36:48

I think some lucky Gransnetter will have to take a trip to the M&S Foodhall......

It says light up bottle on the M&S website 2021,
but the offering is a bottle of Clementine gin liqueur plus a bottle of Prosecco for £45, no option to buy the gin liqueur separately.
I did a bit of Googling and The Sun says you will be able to buy the light-up globe bottles later on this year, in M&S stores, and they will be priced at £20 each (they were £18 last year).

TillyTrotter Fri 10-Sep-21 15:54:56

Crossed posts Jaxjacky .

FannyCornforth Fri 10-Sep-21 15:59:21

Thank you Jacky and Tilly
I always think it’s lovely when people look things up for you thanks

TillyTrotter Fri 10-Sep-21 16:04:37

Galaxy Fri 10-Sep-21 16:08:54

Is that you happy again fanny.
Eeh it's been an emotional rollercoaster.

lemongrove Fri 10-Sep-21 16:53:48

Galaxy

Does this years light up? I am confused. I had never heard of this till now and I want one. I feel you have all dangled something in front if me and then snatched it way grin

I feel the same.... cheated!?
The sugar plum gin sounds just the job for Christmas drinks,
I feel a bit of balletic dancing coming on, now, where’s my pink tutu?

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sep-21 17:14:20

because I searched, I am getting loads of adverts NOW grin
