Good Morning Everyone,
A dark start but its dry despite overnight rain here in Barckley.
Today my usual get the bus do a shop in Bicester after a coffee in my favourite cafe , then I plan to return home via Buckingham , but using a route between Bicester and Buckingham which takes in the HS2 and EWR workings just north of Aylesbury .
Take Care,
Mick

grandMattie Tue 22-Nov-22 06:08:05

Good morning from a still dark, cloudy E Kent.
Got an early start today with an 0800 apposition the chiropodist. She’s coming to DL this afternoon after her other appointments. Then tai chi, and my pc man is to finish his service of my pc in the afternoon -sadly, I shan’t be able to have a nap, I had a bad night.
I have finished knitting my 6th and last sheep, but I couldn’t sewitis as it is black and I couldn’t see well enough - daylight is needed!
DS surprised me with a call yesterday afternoon. He isn’t watching the World Cup despite being an ardent fan, in solidarity with the gays, etc.
It’s DD’s 43rd birthday today. Where has the time gone?
Hope all the poorly have some relief, have a gentle day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Wyllow3 Tue 22-Nov-22 06:18:32

Good Morning from overcast S Yorks.

Catching on the Archers until shops open.

Busy day, collect stuff from M n S, collect meds, gym and GP. The GP is for CFS, but I've got an infected eye so can get help there.

This November has been so gloomy I put up fairy lights in the living room.

Best for DD, GM I too think "where did the time go" with DS!

Best days possible, Mick, GM, and those to come.

Grandmabatty Tue 22-Nov-22 06:30:53

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and looks damp but too dark to tell what the weather is like. Grandmattie bad nights are rotten, I know. Wyllow I hope your eye improves soon.
Yesterday me and dgs2 took a wander to Aldi. It was too cold to go to the swings really. He was a contented baby but he and his brother were very tired after the busy weekend they had.
My friend sent me a message to say she was waiting for a hospital bed as she's in a lot of pain. They are doing further investigations today but it's not looking good.
Today is child care day two. Once I've dropped dgs1 off at the nursery, dgs2 and I might go for a walk. I like to get him out in the fresh air. No other plans for today. Have a good day all.

Ashcombe Tue 22-Nov-22 06:57:29

Good morning, all, from a damp Torbay.

The visit from my priest yesterday was really helpful as he helped me come to terms with difficult issues surrounding my hospital stay. On first meeting, he can seem rather too jocular but he is actually one of the most caring clerics I’ve ever known with a great commitment to his pastoral work.

Later, DH and I ventured out for a walk but the NW wind didn’t enhance the day. Nevertheless, I can tell that my breathing is easier on exertion than pre op..

I’m sorry to hear about your friend, Grandmabatty. It’s so hard to know that people we love are suffering. I hope you can get relief for your eye, Wyllow.

Happy birthday to your DD, grandMattie and a good day for all! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks calm and dry after yesterdays downpours.

Completed my current to do list yesterday, caught up with friends, sadly one call left me very upset. Onwards today, literally, along two motorways to visit my parents grave, enjoy a couple of garden centres and finally meet a friend for a pre Christmas afternoon tea. If the motorways are kind it should be a good if long day.

Look after yourselves everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dark but dry. Probably cold out - it is November after all. I have a jewel of a day - absolutely no plans or calls on my time! What to do Mrs? ‘Owt or Nowt?’ Actually it might be an idea to go to the Trafford Centre. It will be quiet enough as it’s not weekend and it’s ages off Christmas yet when the schools break up - then it really would be the place to avoid. If it’s dry we could walk but as it’s cold we’d have to wrap up and then we’d be too hot in the Trafford Centre ha! Car seems the best bet. If we go ...
#lazygran

Himself will be taking the Boy Wonder to his football practice this evening. When we are home we help out by picking up the slack and our daughter and son in-law really do appreciate a bit of breathing space after work.

Enjoy Tuesday all who can. x

Urmstongran Tue 22-Nov-22 07:13:55

One or two of you asked me for my SOAP (dish) recipe last week.

Here it is.
😊

dragonfly46 Tue 22-Nov-22 07:19:11

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

Cleaning fairies first thing then a trip to Next to return an Advent calendar. It was bigger than expected so after I had picked it up I came home ordered another one and had it sent.

After that will write my Christmas cards.

Sounds like you have turned a corner Ash and take care Mattie.
Sending best wishes for the day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 22-Nov-22 07:32:04

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It feels a bit cool, but as someone said, it is November! I am doing my 24-hour ‘pee’ test today so won’t be going anywhere. I don’t really want to take a large container everywhere with me! OH is having his car MOTd today and also has, I hope, a final appointment at the dentist to have a new crown fitted. I could have bought a small car with the amount it’s costing. He said he would cook tonight, so I think we’re having bangers and mash. Have a good day everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Tue 22-Nov-22 07:36:24

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is dry after the torrential rain yesterday evening. Noah and the ark came to mind.

Yes wyllow this month has been depressingly gloomy. I’ve been lighting candles in the living room mid afternoon to give a lovely glow.

Coffee morning today and it’s a birthday for one of the ladies. I’ve just read a what’s app message saying the chocolate cake is made and we are having lunch there after. GS coming after school.

Due to the forecast of rain I’ve cancelled a meet up this week with a friend in Beverley.

Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Tue 22-Nov-22 07:37:08

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold wet South Yorkshire. Glad I thought to change to a heavier duvet at the weekend! Got my first Christmas card yesterday from a friend I used to work with quite a few years ago. We haven’t seen each other for ages, but always exchange cards and a catch up note. Cleaning for me today - floors and drawers - but may go over to the library this afternoon.
Wyllow I hope your GP can sort the eye problem out. The cold weather always aggravates my eyes.
Have the best day you can, folks.

kittylester Tue 22-Nov-22 07:39:49

Good morning all from a slightly lighter North Leicestershire. All in about 20 minutes.

Not a lot happening here today apart from saying 'goodbye' to our lovely next door neighbours - I have know her since she went to school with DD2 and her mum and I became friends. It's been like having family living next door. Sadly, my friend has dementia and is in a home and DD's friend and family are moving to Scotland. The house hasn't sold so it will be very quiet. A big change.

Have the best day possible everyone.

karmalady Tue 22-Nov-22 07:40:08

good morning, s somerset is cold dark and raining, again

If there is a dry interval, I will unearth my christmas decorations, scandi wooden tree and my lights. They are snug in the garage right now

I took out my little SAD light yesterday, I don`t get depressed but dark all day does nothing for me and light always helps to stay cheerful in winter, as well as sleep. 30 minutes use first thing, while I read GN

BlueBalou Tue 22-Nov-22 07:46:26

Good morning, it’s a dry and cold start here in Wiltshire.
Wasn’t yesterday a gloomy one? Mid morning it seemed more like late afternoon and I got thoroughly soaked twice.
I had a lovely time with my sister, collected my redesigned and resized engagement, wedding and eternity rings from the amazing jewellers. I couldn’t be more delighted; I haven’t been able to wear them for years (and I couldn’t afford to get them altered again) They couldn’t be simply enlarged because it had already been done once.
Crafts this morning, dog water for DDog and this afternoon I will have a good tidy up.
Take care x

Pittcity Tue 22-Nov-22 07:48:39

Good morning from Colchester where it's dry, cold and brighter than yesterday. I'm glad I went out in the morning as it was very wet and windy later on.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day so I'd best get on.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Tue 22-Nov-22 07:49:49

Good morning all and it’s another chilly one but at least it’s dry.

I’ll take little gd to school. Dd and the boys are still all poorly. Proper flu!
I had the day off yesterday so went Christmas shopping and I think I’ve got everything now, and wrapped. It’s a good feeling.
Poor Dd hasn’t been able to get out so I’ll get a list from her.

Bridge this afternoon , if time allows 🤞.

Thanks again for the SOAP. Recipe , Urms.

Kindest wishes to all.

Beechnut Tue 22-Nov-22 07:52:21

Good Morning all from Severnside. What an awful day yesterday. I put my twinkles on in the morning Wyllow it was so gloomy. My friend turned up unexpectedly to see me. She brought her lunch with her as she likes to take it to a picnic spot to eat but of course that was out of the question yesterday.

Your priest sounds like a lovely chap Ash. I’m glad he was able to help you.

I’m not going swimming today as the boiler service man said he would come sometime this week and he doesn’t give me a time or day.

Best wishes to all 🍃🍂

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 22-Nov-22 07:56:41

Good morning all from dreich Harrogate
My dentist appointment yesterday when I thought he was just having a look at the offending remains of my broken molar, he decided to remove it!! I was excruciating but it’s done now, and I’m fine. I’m going to my art club this morning with no real idea what I wan to paint, but I’m hoping to try out a different technique to see if I can apply it in the future.
Have the best day possible folks

Sar53 Tue 22-Nov-22 07:57:19

Good morning from a cold but bright Essex by the sea.
We had a good run to Bluewater yesterday and managed to get back to watch the second half of the football.
This afternoon I am getting the train to London. DGd1 is playing Romeo in a school's Shakespeare Festival at the Shaw Theatre. I'm meeting DD1 and staying the night at her house. I'm very much looking forward to it.
DGD1 is doing drama as one of her GCSE's and is very passionate about it.
The sun has just poked through the clouds, hopefully a day without rain.
Enjoy today whatever you may get upto xx

baubles Tue 22-Nov-22 07:57:55

Good morning all from foggy South Lanarkshire.

My goodness, what a change in the temperature yesterday, it was so cold.

We had such a busy day with donations, the entire town must have been having a pre Christmas clear out.

Today I must meal plan and shop then I’ll probably spend the afternoon crocheting so it’ll be fairly restful.

Wishing everyone the best possible day.

brook2704 Tue 22-Nov-22 07:59:09

Good morning everyone from southern Spain, but I won’t mention the weather seen as it seems so cold and gloomy at home.
Another leisurely wander around this beautiful little town today, we’re then heading down to Malaga - Urms wish you were here!
It’s good to hear your breathing is a bit easier Ash also that the visit from your priest helped.
Lovely to be able to wear your rings again Balou
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Jaxjacky Tue 22-Nov-22 08:05:33

Good morning from a drier S Hants, yesterday was dark, wet and generally dismal.
Happy Birthday to your daughter gMattie.
I’ve a dental appointment this morning, not a favourite at all, sorting out lifts from yesterdays phone calls and pondering what to have for dinner tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Grammaretto Tue 22-Nov-22 08:07:33

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. No frost but chilly.
The electrician was here until almost midnight PAT testing all the electrical devices in the wee annexe I'm letting. through an Agency.
They all passed grin

My helpers cleared the drive of leaves and moss to discover a blocked drain. No wonder there's a lake after rain. They also got my printer to work and cooked dinner.
I like having young people around.

Yoga later and shop volunteering for me.
You are right about lack of sunshine lowering the spirits. Wyllow fairy lights for all!

ginny Tue 22-Nov-22 08:08:20

Good morning.
We shall be docking in La Palma soon and then off on a trip.
I haven’t read through the thread but will do later.
Wishing all a good day.
