Just come back from the hospital where they ask you to strip down to bra and pants. I don't wear pants I wear knickers. Apart from the gentlemen here do you wear pants or knickers.smile

I thought drawers were called that because they had draw strings to hold them up before the invention of elastic....and also had an open crotch for convenience...

Pants, I always think old ladies wear knickers.grin. In our family the men always wear boxers, not pants.
"Panties", sounds quite pervy.

Grandma70s Tue 05-Dec-17 13:17:10

Briefs sounds like a coy euphemism to me.

BlueBelle Tue 05-Dec-17 13:42:11

Men don’t wear pants anymore they wear boxers or Calvin’s (used as a general term
I think we ought to have a poll - knickers sounds so old fashioned and old ladyish to my ears

NannyTee Tue 05-Dec-17 14:09:16

That's why I say Klickers grin

MissAdventure Tue 05-Dec-17 14:11:49

Is knickers more of a 'down south' word? Pants more 'up north'? Knickers down, pants up, as it were?

Jalima1108 Tue 05-Dec-17 14:13:22

There are always thongs
Thongs in Australia are what we call flip-flops grin
I have got confused before now

Pants, tho I probably don't have cause to say it out loud very often! The word does sound a bit, well, pants. I wish there was a nicer one, without the connotations of the existing alternatives.

NannyTee Tue 05-Dec-17 15:01:23

I do sometimes just say underwear these days though .

NannyTee Tue 05-Dec-17 15:04:12

Yes I say pants when I drop something haha ( not me Klickers mind ) like a glass or something

Scribbles Tue 05-Dec-17 15:12:45

I was born confused. I keep my pants in my knicker drawer ...confused

SueDonim Tue 05-Dec-17 15:50:25
