Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark outside plus its dry and cold this morning in Brackley . Today , once I have had breakfast and done a few chores , I will do a small shop.
But will then have a more relaxed day , and see what the future holds for us later on TV as regards to the remainder of 2020 the year which many would like to forget .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning everyone from a dry Severnside which is forecast for the week ahead but we’ll see.

Unusually I’ve not had much sleep during the night. I expect I’ll catch up with it at some point.
Off to take my car in for a service this morning. They usually bring me home and I walk to the garage later to pick it up.
By the time my daughter went home yesterday only two of your Mars bar pieces were left Marydoll . Hope to see you soon ?
Let’s all have the best day we can and as Mick says see what is said at 5pm ?

Good morning from a crisp dry E Kent.
Definitely, Mick, 2020 will have been a different year, for all sorts of reasons, not least being the “plague “.
Quiet day yesterday, roast dinner.
It was DD’s birthday yesterday and we had a family zoom in the afternoon, all planned by 10 yo DGD. Or at least would have been, but GS didn’t make it, and DS2 was called back to work, he’d just had a sleep after a very hard night but there had been trouble at ‘t mill. His factory had multiple and complicated mechanical failures, so he was straight back and missed the call. I didn’t know and was very worried, but, bless him, he called me from work to reassure me.
I have also started a small strip patchwork quilt to use while watching tv.
Today, apart from the loathed cleaning, I’m doing a zoom cookery class set up by WI. They are marvellous and so cheap at £5 per hour. This week I’ve got three on. Today I’m making a stollen and mincemeat tart thingy, Wednesday, a chicken tagine and something else, on Saturday a patchwork workshop.
Marydoll, I hope that you are ok. It would be such a shame to lose your wit and wisdom.
Have a good day. ❤️

Morning Mick Beechnut and All to follow.

So dark outside in a cold South Bucks.

Had a bit of an accident on Saturday by slipping on some leaves in the garden and falling onto the concrete path and then rolled into the bushes OUCH ! I am very lucky I didn’t break anything but am bruised. It makes me realise how easy it is to take a tumble.

Will potter around today but make sure I rake my daily 20 mins walk.

Well Bellasnana I had every excuse to put my feet up and watch wall to wall tennis this weekend. Sadly our lad didn’t win. We now have to wait until mid January for the next tournament which has been pushed on a few weeks.

Hope to see Marydoll here later on ?.

NanKate Mon 23-Nov-20 06:33:09

Morning Grandmattie.

Scentia Mon 23-Nov-20 06:43:32

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is icy, I had to scrape the car today. Been in the factory since 5am as I can’t sleep and we are busy. I missed Sasha this morning when I was opening the factory as it is pitch dark and I get scared☹️ I will probably leave at lunch and go and binge watch the crown.
I do hope you can all have the best day possible, it’s time to get your thermal undies out ‘Goodmorningers’??

dragonfly46 Mon 23-Nov-20 06:45:21

Good morning from a darl Leicestershire.

My final radiotherapy this morning, I did so enjoy sleeping until 8 at the weekend.

Nothing else planned.

Sorry to hear about your fall NanKate the leaves are very slippery. We were also wading through mud on our walk yesterday.

Sar53 Mon 23-Nov-20 06:51:04

Good morning everyone from a very cold Essex by the sea and it's still dark outside.
A quiet day yesterday, mainly with sport on the tv. Today I have a tea loaf to make and a visit to the post office to buy some stamps.
I'm hoping my elusive parcel will turn up as well.
I too hope that Marydoll is ok and will post again soon.
Have the best Monday you can and stay safe everyone xx

grandMattie Mon 23-Nov-20 06:58:28

Nankate, so sorry t hear of your fall and glad you didn’t injure yourself much. Apart from injuring one’s pride, these falls so rattle one’s self-confidence. I don’t know about the others but that sort of thing makes me so diffident.

Sark Mon 23-Nov-20 07:01:01

Morning everyone from a dark and cold Oxfordshire
For some reason it seemed to be a very busy weekend and I didn't even get onto GN
Poor DD had a shock when someone pulled out and smashed her car. Luckily the children were at home. I won't bore you with the details but with her long-term health issues it was the last thing she needed but could have been so much worse.
Nankate oh no! Hope you're okflowers
Dragonfly last one..that's goodsmile
Marydoll I hope you are ok too and will post laterflowers
Best wishes to all

Good morning from another cold morning here in north Surrey.
Missed MaryDoll’s post from yesterday, will check back on thread, hoping today is a better one for you.
I have a shopping trip (Wilkos and Lidl) planned with DD this morning. Hoping to get some Christmas presents and decorations for DGSs to put up in their bedroom when they come this week.
Online Pilates and make a start on the spare room deep clean.
Wishing all a good Monday, stay safe

Pantglas2 Mon 23-Nov-20 07:07:58

Morning all from a dry and cold north Wales where I’m about to get up us DH has an appointment at 9am to sort out his hearing aids in Llandudno so I’ll pop in to DDs office for a coffee ☕️and a natter.

I’m sure you’ll miss your 4legged friend Scentia- they’re part of the family after all?.

Hope Miss Marydoll pops in - there seems to have been an awful lot of low level ‘stuff’ going about on GN for a few weeks recently and it discombobulates me ?.

Hope today is what you all want it to be ....x

GrannyGravy13 Mon 23-Nov-20 07:10:41

Good morning Mick and all

Light is just beginning to creep in here. I started decorating the house yesterday to cheer me up, unfortunately it had the opposite effect and I had a weepy couple of hours! Today is a new day so I shall carry on with the decorations and wrapping gifts.

Oh dear Nankate take things easy for a while.

Marydoll rest and relax thanks

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Jaxjacky Mon 23-Nov-20 07:15:45

Goood morning all from a dark, dry, chillier S Hants. Decorator starts today, another week of l room camping during the day.
dragonfly46 and relax after today.?
Marydoll hope all is OK ?
Have a quiet day all.

kittylester Mon 23-Nov-20 07:16:24

Good morning all from a dark, dry and chilly North Leicestershire.

Not much going on at the Lester's today. DH is doing a drive so I have an empty!! I think I'll spend the time catching up with friends.

I'm glad you took a tumble kate and didnt have a fall. Having a fall is what happens to people much older.

I bet you are pleased to be at the end of your treatment dragonfly.

sark, I hope your daughter is ok this morning.

Have the best day possible everyone. Love to everyone with pain or worries. And special love to our gilly.

Nortsat Mon 23-Nov-20 07:18:06

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from east London where it’s still as dark as the dead of night...

Sorry to hear you had a nasty fall Nankate, it can shake your confidence a bit too, can’t it?
Last day Dragonfly - so glad for you.
Marydoll I hope you had a comfortable night and that you have an easy day today.
Thinking of gillybob.

Another lockdown day for me ... A grocery delivery, a walk and a bit more of the ‘great (if slow) wardrobe clear out’.

We very much enjoyed watching Young Jazz Musician of the Year on the BBC, last night. I know that a number of GNs explained on another thread that they don’t enjoy jazz. But for those who do, it would be well worth catching the programme on iplayer.

Have a pleasant day all and let’s be careful out there. ?

Ashcombe Mon 23-Nov-20 07:18:39

Good morning, everyone from Torbay where it’s dark and dry but possibly not as cold as in some areas.

Sorry to hear about your fall, NanKate, but you are wise to keep moving nevertheless. We do miss Marydoll's contributions and hope she is well.

I enjoyed my Zoom call with DD2 and family which began with me being shown DGS and DGD doing some cleaning! They had an incentive as the plan was to put up the Christmas tree, etc. DD2 has already written her Christmas cards, putting me to shame. She wants to be organised as next week she begins studying (in her spare time?!) for an MBA in Management in Education.

Yes, as Mick suggests, our fate will be announced later today. I hope there will be information about travel abroad so I can decide about booking up to visit DH in France.

Have as good a week as possible, everyone.

Beauregard Mon 23-Nov-20 07:20:13

Good morning from Derbyshire. A sunny but chilly day in store.

Yesterday my plans for a quiet relaxing day were scuppered by DH who insisted we do more garden trimming and clearing as we needed to fill the garden waste bin as the next collection is the last one until spring. Then in the afternoon we did more work at the field, there's always plenty of that to do.

Today, a little shopping this afternoon, collect a Christmas present I've ordered on click and collect (that'll double the number of presents I've bought so far) then bring something nice home for dinner so I won't have to cook.

Hope you're soon feeling better after your fall NanKate. Your last radiotherapy treatment dragonfly yey! Still thinking about you after your loss of Sacha, Scentia, especially going back to the factory without her by your side.

Thoughts to everyone who isn't feeling well or has worries today.

Urmstongran Mon 23-Nov-20 07:20:31

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s just getting light. Sun today & tomorrow then 3 days of rain & thunder. I’ll wash the bedding today and sofa throw tomorrow while I can get them dry! Time to go home...

We are meeting friends at 1pm for coffee and to say ‘adios’.

Thanks to all with suggestions about my friend yesterday, it really helped me see the wood for the trees.

Another here who’s hoping Marydoll hasn’t gone AWOL.

Hope Monday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Nortsat Mon 23-Nov-20 07:23:07

kate I’ll rephrase... sorry to hear you ‘took a tumble’ (? kittylester).

Marydoll Mon 23-Nov-20 07:26:40

Good morning all, just a quick post to say I'm still here and mortified about all the worry I caused by not posting yesterday.

I was very unwell yesterday and spent most of the day lying down after a severe angina attack the night before (with very little sleep) and trying to get my heart rate down. Any stress at all (and there has been a lot recently) seems to send it soaring nowadays.

Feeling very low for various reasons and tired of trying to remain positive, I had no heart nor energy to post yesterday and wondered if GN was for me, after a couple of unpleasant things had happened the day before.
It is so much easier to wallow, than to pull your socks up! The elastic in my socks had become very slack indeed!! grin

I am humbled by the amount of PMs I received and the concern shown for me. You really are the loveliest of people, I cannot believe so many posters care. ?

I am feeling a bit better, fingers crossed things remain settled.
I would sign off with kisses, but you might think I was a completely different poster entirely. wink. Oh I will do it anyway, you deserve them! xxxxx

Beauregard Mon 23-Nov-20 07:31:07

Good to see you back Marydoll flowers

NanKate Mon 23-Nov-20 07:31:28

Wonderful to have you back Marydoll. You are only allowed one day off from GN per season. ?

Urmstongran Mon 23-Nov-20 07:32:02

Yay! You’re back *Marydoll’.
Just stay on here only for a few weeks. I did and felt better for it. I’m posting a tiny bit more but will retreat back here again if I feel ‘got at’.
?

brook2704 Mon 23-Nov-20 07:32:45

Good morning Mick and all from Inverness where it’s forecast to be another cold but dry day.
Sorry to hear you had a tumble NanKate please take it easy and I hope it’s not too painful and Sark hope your DD is ok and recovers fully soon.
Hope things get a bit easier in the factory for your DS Grandmattie
Dragonfly ?
No plans for me today except an online dance exercise class and a bit of food shopping.
Hoping to hear from marydoll later
Take care everyone and enjoy the little things ?
