Good morning all from a wet and wild Glasgow. I had a sleepless night, my hip was so painful. However, I believe the orthopaedic waiting list here is now two years, due to Covid. I shall have to just stop moaning!!
We have a problem, as we were expecting electricians today, but as it involves going up a very high ladder in strong winds, I don't see it happening.
I have a unexpected, early hospital appointment first thing. Late yesterday afternoon, I got a phone call asking if I could come and get bloods done ASAP! Rather than go to the large hospital, I usually go to in Glasgow, the bone people have kindly organised it in our local hospital, fifteen minutes away, to save me travelling. An act of kindess, which takes the pressure off us.
I haven't been out for a year, then three hospital appointments in the space of two weeks!
I suspect it is to check my VitD levels, which are always abnormally low. My Alendronic acid infusion was cancelled in August , so hopefully once my levels are OK, I will be getting it.
Things seem to be moving again, treatment wise. A hopeful sign indeed for all of us.
Yesterday afternoon, I took my car a run round the block to boost the battery. I persuaded DH to come with me to our local park ten minutes, away for a walk, hence the gowping hip. It took half an hour to get the mud of my boots! However it was worth it, just to be out and about again.
Looking at the view, you wouldn't believe that fifteen minutes away on the motorway is Glasgow city centre.
Kate, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better, but take it easy.
I'd better go and get organised. DH of course, isn't coping with this last minute break in our routine. He needs to know at least a year in advance about hospital appointments.
As usual, I have a cunning plan.
Parking at the hospital will be horrendous and as he won't be able to come in anyway, I'm sending him to the bakers nearby to purchase a strawberry Danish for me. If he is a good boy, he can have a rhubarb tart. That should keep him out of mischief! .
Thinking of Auntieflo, Mr & MRs Georgesgran and all who need our support.
Have the best day you can, folks.
