Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey sky start , with a wet ground at the moment here in brackley .
Todays plans , as its the final week of the Tour of Italy cycle race , todays stage as early TV coverage for the start , so plan to watch that , and then do my usual to Bicester on the bus as long as the race drama does not start early .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from E Kent. We’re the opposite to Mick here, cloudless skies and bright sunshine. It was rather chilly and very wet all day yesterday. The farmers should be happy with the rain; my garden certainly was.
Poor DH had a bad day, slept or was sick… I was wiped out from the bad night, so we were a pair of crocks.
My cleaner helped me change the beds. She must be well into her 30s and had never made a bed with sheets and blankets! We also did the bed for DS (with duvet), which meant I had about 6 loads of washing to do and dry.
Got the catheter bags - checked on the website. The nurse was right, the bags are changed every 5-7 days! I also did my first abdominal injection. The syringe has this spring that jumps out when it is empty, both covering the needle and removing it from the injection site. Most disconcerting.
Yet another empty today. I hope you all have the chance to catch a passing flamingo ? to give you some happiness. Carpe diem. ?????

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It is damp but I can see blue spots in the sky so I’m hoping they get bigger as the day goes on.

It sure whether to go swimming today. I have a few things to do to get out of the way and prepare for something else. Stir fry for lunch. I’d not had one for awhile until last week when I bought a bag of already prepared veg.

Take care all and welcome to the new good morningers ??

cornergran Tue 24-May-22 06:24:34

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s an undecided weather start to our corner of Somerset. Damp out there with cloud breaks. Could mean anything.

A huge sense of relief after sorting financial stuff yesterday morning, a trip out for a wander in the afternoon, Off to put the world to rights with a GN friend. Mr C will enjoy the peace and quiet of an ‘empty’ today.

Love to you both grandmattie, along with a wish for a more settled day.

Take care everyone, hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning from Tallinn where we are blessed with another sunny day. Some passengers are delighted to be unexpectedly getting a tan.

MS Balmoral is only about half full with 670 passengers and 550 crew. The health precautions are reassuring. Everyone was tested for Covid before boarding and automatic hand sanitisers abound throughout the ship. Everyone has an electronic device to wear or carry so that, in the event of anyone developing Covid during the cruise, likely contacts can be identified. The crew are masked at all times but this is not required for passengers.

Thinking of those with health or family worries, especially grandMattie, and wishing you a resolution of difficulties. ?????

Pantglas2 Tue 24-May-22 06:44:16

Morning all from sunny Espana where I’m prepping for a day on the ?- ? sweeping not sunning myself, let’s be clear....??
Full of admiration for you GM - your resilience, patience and good cheer in the face of all that’s on your plate ?

Your cruise sounds delightful Ash and so relaxing way to travel ?

Will pop back this evening after my ‘chores’ at the seaside are done (ahem..) and hope to read about a good day for all ?

Ashcombe Tue 24-May-22 06:44:56

Photos didn’t make it first time….!

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, it started to rain yesterday evening, so no garden watering today even if the rain stops and the sun comes out, here’s hoping.

More shed painting today, we went into town yesterday with a long shopping list of things for the cabin once it’s finished and came home empty handed.

All the stores we went into said that sadly what we wanted was ‘unavailable’. Even our back up stores didn’t have what we wanted and were unsure of any delivery dates into their shops.

So, back home we ordered everything online and all will be here by Thursday. Ready for MrOops to fit it all. All we could buy was paint and various small bits and bobs.

It’s sad that we once thought of Argos as a last resort store because we couldn’t see or touch the item and now even though we still can’t see or touch the items we buy it all online anyway and get it within a couple of days, Argos also didn’t have the items we wanted in stock or know when they would have them. We were out for ages and drove miles just looking.

Anyway, it will soon be finished, ready for its first guests when MzOops and the young (ish) Oopsies arrive. We also sorted out the Wifi down there and that’s all sorted, again had to buy the bits online.

Then we will start repainting inside the garage, something to look forward too…….

Have a good day everyone, hope the sun shines on you all.?

Good morning from France where we are due rain today.

We had a lovely day out in the marina at Gruissan yesterday, some very expensive yachts, and the weather was sunny and warm.

We had lunch and did lots of people watching.

Today it will be retail therapy and hopefully coffee out somewhere.

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone, love from France xxx

Good morning all from the Black country, a sunny start to the day very welcome after yesterday's torrential rain.
Bin men here at 6.30am this morning they seem to get earlier each week.
Ash enjoying your postcards.
Doctor phoned nice and early yesterday with DHs bloods all ok so no change in his medication.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed. Enjoy your Tuesday everyone and may you all find some ?.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 24-May-22 07:01:38

Morning Mick and all

We have had more rain overnight, but there are pieces of blue sky emerging, let’s hope it’s a dry warm day as we have The Imp.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning all from a cold and damp North Leicestershire utility is so cold that the heating kicked in.

Our gardener is coming to do a tidy up and replant and gravel a front bed. I have our village choir and DH has the dentist as a bit of a crown has fallen off.

This afternoon I am going with a couple of friends for brew and cupcake at a cafe in the woods - presumably the one dragonfly goes to.

Have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Tue 24-May-22 07:24:10

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry just now after a day full of nothing but rain yesterday
Thanks for the pictures Ash I’m quite envious and good weather too
Enjoy your beach day pantglas hope it’s nice and tidy when you leave ?
If it stays dry I’ll get a few jobs in the garden done and then I’ll be finishing off our packing as we’re visiting DS in Switzerland for a long weekend
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmabatty Tue 24-May-22 07:28:28

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and sunny. I've been awake for ages and up since half six as dgs1 is here for another sleepover. His mum and dad were at a wedding yesterday. We've had a lot of fun and I will drop him off at the nursery later. Then I may go back to bed! Have a good day all.

ginny Tue 24-May-22 07:29:33

Good morning all. Hoping the weather cheers up as we are off to a Jubilee party this afternoon at DGS school. Picnic and entertainment by the children.
Wishing everyone a good day with a smile or two in it.

Marydoll Tue 24-May-22 07:31:50

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow. I'm sorry, to hear how much you are both struggling GM.
It's good to hear you managed the injection GM. I struggled with mine at first, as I have to firmly hold the plunger down, with one hand, while pinching my skin with the other, until the whole syringe turns purple. Quite painful for my arthritic fingers. I used to dither about and procrastinate, before attempting it, now its done in less than a minute! I promise, it will get easier.

What a beautiful sky Ash, sounds as if you are having a great holiday. Wishing all, who are on holiday, a very happy time.

I am off out to chase up my missing prescriptions. Because one is in short supply, the pharmacy decided to hold off with the rest of the prescriptions.?
To add to that, a special request prescription has gone AWOL.
The poor pharmacist sounded at the end of her tether yesterday, saying that certain medications are becoming increasingly more difficult to source.
To cap it all, the main road to Paisley, where my surgery is, is closed for three weeks. The pharmacy do not deliver, because of where I live. I shall need to make a detour, cutting across a difficult junction, I usually avoid!

To save petrol, I plan to get rid of the last of the charity bags, because the charity shop, is near my surgery. Thank goodness, I'm finished decluttering, as I am feeling really under par at the moment.
I have a plan, as I can hardly lift them. I shall park my car at Poundland and borrow a trolley!
Unfortunately, MrMD, has important business and cannot help. He is awaiting delivery of a new golf bag today and that of course, takes priority over everything! ?

Wishing you all, the best day possible. Corner, if the member, you are meeting, is who I think it is, please give her my best regards.
May I be cheeky and highlight again, the GlescaGrannies meet up?

BlueBalou Tue 24-May-22 07:34:39

Good morning from a damp corner of Wiltshire, patchy blue sky at the moment.
I didn’t sleep well so feeling meh ?, it’s going to be a quiet day here today.
I need to thrash out with not-so-dear H just how he thinks a 15’ foot inflatable kayak, deflated but filling up the whole boot, is going to allow us to take everything needed for our holiday. It’s too heavy for me to lift (26 kgs), and is about 4’x3’x3’. Plus 4 life jackets, a huge stirrup pump and 2 6’ paddles.
Apparently it was supposed to be ‘the size of a rucksack’ according to him. Not a good omen for the holiday!
DDog and I will go for a nice long walk I think!
Hope you all have a good day x

Urmstongran Tue 24-May-22 07:36:09

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry, mild with white cloud. I sorted out my holiday clothes yesterday and made a small list of 5 items to buy at the Trafford Centre tomorrow. Good enough.

I have a manicure booked for this afternoon and fancy the gel in a metallic rose gold. It looked great on a lady I saw down at the marina in Malaga, a bit different for a ‘holiday vibe’.

Good to hear your husband’s blood test is fine monk. Have a pleasant Tuesday all who can. You’re having hot sunny weather Pantglas go easy with the sweeping today and remember to drink plenty of water.
?

Greyduster Tue 24-May-22 07:41:46

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It’s bright but cloudy and cool in South Yorkshire. I feel as if my head is full of cotton wool and my tinnitus is awful this morning. I can’t seem to “tune it out”. A hangover from the cold I’ve had I expect. Gardening for me today, after a spell at the ironing board and putting a chicken casserole in the slow cooker.
GM I hated having to give those injections - never got used to those even though I gave DH his blood thinning injections every day. Yes, it was the spring! Hope you both have a better more restful day today.?
Wishing you all the best day you can have.

Gingster Tue 24-May-22 07:44:59

Good morning all and the weather doesn’t know what it’s doing.

We had a good journey back to Essex yesterday and DH was glad to be back to his Sport on Sky TV . ?. It’s the one thing he misses when we’re in Suffolk. .

Today I have a follow-up glaucoma test at the hospital, - last one was inconclusive. I hate the dot test. They make me do it again and again. Makes my eyes sore! ?. They seem to get cross with me, that I’m missing some dots. I try my hardest! ?. ?

I’m going shopping soon and will get DD’s too . This latest medication seems to have wiped her out. Very tired !

Ash your cruise sounds lovely and the pics are great. Enjoy the rest of your time aboard.

Oops send us a photo of your cabin when it’s finished. It sounds a real sanctuary. ?.

Sending good wishes to all. ?

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, not really sure what it's going to do for the rest of the day.

Spent yesterday morning cutting the front grass, weeding and edging. Will probably do the back grass tomorrow.

The nice man from BT arrived yesterday afternoon to connect and upgrade my new broadband/WiFi system. He also installed a new set-top box and sorted a better tv package for me at a cheaper price than I was already paying. He also managed to unplug stuff that DH had installed that was no longer needed, so the mass of cable and wires has gone.

Out for lunch today to celebrate a friend's special birthday (80th!). We have known each other from the 70s when we were teaching at the same school - we were then in our 20s! Another ex-colleague is coming too. A Chinese restaurant is the choice of the birthday girl, which suits me very well.

So sorry to read of your troubles, grandMattie, hope you manage to find some rest today.

Ash, glad your cruise is going well, and so looking forward to mine in August.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 24-May-22 08:05:46

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Sun is not going to last ( from the forecast anyway)
This morning is my art club, so I shall have to crack on. This afternoon I have a call from the pharmacist to update my medication, then I have to go into town to upgrade my iPad.
Yesterday we went to Leeds to check on DHs eye after his cataract operation. No probs there. We went to John Lewis for a sandwich lunch - I was appalled at the lack of choice and ended up with cheese with mayonnaise and no butter. Still after our paltry lunch I went and bought a new microwave that be delivered on Friday.
Oh GrandMattie I think you need a hug! Look after yourself.
I am envious of your trip Ashcombe enjoy it while you can
Have fun with the kayak Bluebalou. Maybe you should find out if you can hire one?
Have the best day possible

Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny day is forecast.

Yesterday was a busy day.Got mum sorted with medication and a rota of people to check on her.Little B improved as the day went on so the antibiotics are doing their job.We finished the day attending a Steeleye Span concert which we really enjoyed.

Today is hairdressers for me, cut and colour.DH is going to mow the lawns and paint the gates,he did rust protect on Sunday so is wanting to do the top colour as at the moment the gates are bright orange!

I hope today is a better day grandMattie.

Thoughts with all struggling and wishing everyone the best day possible??

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it feels cool for the season but at least the heating is off.

I have a sociable day to come and wish, like you cornergran, that I had done the financial stuff earlier.
I had an induction training morning yesterday at the community store and didn't go too far wrong. Since I last worked a till it is all super mechanised but a few people still pay with real cash. I have to take the cafe orders too so that will doubtless be cause for misunderstandings. grin

gMattie you are doing so well in your new role as full time nurse. Injections into the tummy shock What next. Funny about the sheets and blankets.

Thanks everyone for the holiday postcards. Do you still send real ones? I like to receive them so always send a few despite the high cost of postage.

Pittcity Tue 24-May-22 08:22:28

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Breezy but not as wet as yesterday.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day. Home to an empty as DH is off fishing again.
I might have a stir-fry too Beechnut as there are leftovers in the fridge. Will pick up some noodles on the way home.
Love to all ? x
