Any ideas on getting cards without Christmas in?

We, like many others who are non Christian, struggle to find cards to send that do not have happy Christmas on or in them. I celebrate Yule, but would like to send cards to friends and family. I feel a bit hypocritical sending religious cards. I used to make my own, but am struggling this year and the pagan sites charge so much per card. I just want a box of plain seasons greetings cards, if they support a charity all the better. Can anyone help point me in the right direction.

As I said in my op making them isn't an option this year for a number of reasons I'll not go into. I have always made before due to the lack, that I've been able to find, of non-Christian cards.

I write my own words on cards because what I choose to say isn’t on any card.

Mabel I still remain puzzled by your problems finding suitable cards. Could you explain exactly what you are looking for?

At the risk of sounding critical, if you do not keep Christmas, why send cards at all?

Many cards from High Street have "Season's Greetings" as a message.

Started off with a stupid question! If you don’t want to celebrate Christmas - DON’T. I have no idea what Yule is but you can buy cards with pretty pictures on almost every situation coped with, blank especially for people like you. I am cross because this is a Christian country, yet for years you try apparently not to offend people of other faiths who live amongst you. Most of them are probably not in the least offended - why, in almost every area of your lives do you worry about causing offence to the diverse nationalities and different faiths you live amongst and get along with being British and be prouder of what your country has achieved in the past and hopefully with a little more thought can in the future.

I find the opposite to be true - not many cards with a religious theme. I was looking through the Christmas cards in my local supermarket recently, out of 5 shelves of cards there were only two packs which had a religious message.
Many cards now just say seasons greetings rather than Merry Christmas

Like HootMcOwl I too have difficulty in finding cards that tell the Christmas story.

MawBroon Tue 13-Nov-18 11:57:56

I take it this one would not suit then grin

Keep on the lookout all year round for Winter type cards, but not with the Christmas theme or very religious pictures on,they are out there.

mawbroon. Please tell me where I can buy this card - it has so many meanings. I love it.

Far too many Christmas cards available that portray a non christmas holiday or festive celebration as I found out that I had to hunt high and low for a long time to get any with the Nativity on the front-

Look it's December - so it is Christmas.
We are living in a Christian Country - Don't like it? Move!

I am a Christian, and Christmas is all about Jesus not santa nor reindeer nor snowmen nor fluffy rainbows or unicorns- Use it or loose it-

If I ever receive a muslim festive card I would destroy it.

Onestepbeyond - my sentiments exactly, although I would delete your last sentence.

The winter festival around the equinox is common to most religions, world wide.

We call it Christmas, other faiths have different names for the festival. If you are a practicing Christian, as I am, then I choose to send cards reflecting this to all my Christian friends. Some, the more artistic, will get sent to others, but I will happily buy winter festival themed cards as well for those of no religious faith.l.

If I wanted to send a card to someone of another faith. If card sending was not in their tradition I would send a winter card not a religious card and I would be delighted to get a card from a muslim, Jewish or Pagan friend celebrating the festival that they celebrate at this time of year.

onestepbeyond, you chose your name well,. You have gone more than one step beyond in the wording of your post and show a most unchristian intolerance to those who do not share your religious views.

My best friend is a Hindu, she loves getting a Christmas card, I used to have a Jewish friend who thanked me for not sending her a card.I try and make cards fit the person and their beliefs/non beliefs.
Non Christians in the UK enjoy Christmas just as much.

I also buy cards with 'Seasons Greetings' for the friends who have alternative viewpoints. I think it's a brilliant all round phrase in that case. Local cards, depending on where you live, are a good idea as they often have lovely views and are blank inside.

mumofmadboys Wed 14-Nov-18 08:00:23

Onestepbeyond why would you destroy a muslim festival card if someone was kind enough to send you one??

oldbatty Wed 14-Nov-18 08:58:38

*I am a Christian

If I ever receive a muslim festive card I would destroy it*

How do these 2 statements work together please?

Anniebach Wed 14-Nov-18 09:05:26

‘ i would destroy a Muslim festive card’

‘I don’t want to send a Christmas card at Christmas with happy Christmas on it ‘

?

What about a nice artistic postcard from an art gallery? No writing inside it and you can write as much as you like. Or, as you don't believe in the Christian Christmas, why bother sending anything? Or, even better, send a donation to a charity instead, I fail to see why you have to advertise your non-belief to people who may be non-believers anyway

Greta Wed 14-Nov-18 16:37:45

I always buy plain cards with no text. If you look at www.theblankcardcompany.co.uk you will find lots of attractive cards.

oldbatty Wed 14-Nov-18 16:57:02

possibly the key word is " destroy"

Are you preparing a new chapter in the Book of Exodus?
Seriously, as a Christian, what are your thoughts on "Love thy neighbour"?

Billybob4491 Wed 14-Nov-18 17:19:49

Or even goodwill to all men!
