Uk Government Vaccine Plan

Having read all the different threads on the Vaccine, with all the speculation, questions etc I thought I’d just flag this up.

In my inbox just now was a copy of the Government Vaccination Plan, explaining in some detail the how, why and when of the Plan.

Read dispassionately (I hope) and with regard to the fact that this is for the whole country and not just what I would like for me, I think it makes perfect sense.

It is lengthy but explains why there are three different types of places to get vaccinated, in what order people will be contacted and how and a whole load of other stuff.

I am just hoping that people will bother to read the official document and apply an understanding before they speculate or pick up news bites and maybe spread false information or uninformed opinion.

It’s easily available on the internet. just type in UK COVID-19 Vaccine Plan

Thanks, Peasblossom. People who think others should be nearer the front of the queue can get the best info from the horses mouth. (I wonder where that saying comes from...)

Ha, ha, The emotive, anecdotal vaccine threads are still going strong whilst this one that invites people to find out what is actually happening has sunk to the bottom.

I should have expected it, I suppose. People would rather complain.

I'll bump it Peasblossom grin

We're doing fine. People are getting vaccinated in huge numbers.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 12-Jan-21 12:42:10

I will look at the plan..

One of the big issues is trust in the government.

Just this morning on bbc breakfast television, an NHS official indicated that the carnage we are seeing now is because we didn’t take effective measures in the autumn.

Kamiso Tue 12-Jan-21 12:51:16

Well done WW! Spreading yet more misery and gloom despite Peasblossom’s attempt to offer factual information instead of the opinions of keyboard warriors and know-it-all’s.

Jaxjacky Tue 12-Jan-21 12:55:29

Thank you Peasblossom some factual information rather than hearsay and assumption. ??

Peasblossom Tue 12-Jan-21 12:55:53

I don’t attribute the plan to the Government Whiteavemark2. This is the Army, I think and I was impressed. Don’t want to try to summarise it, but I wish people would read it.

I think it would put a lot of minds at rest, make clear how a nationwide rollout is taking place and explain what people see as anomalies at the moment.

Alegrias1 Tue 12-Jan-21 12:58:08

Yeah, things are going so badly....

I agree, I’m sure the government have made plenty of mistakes, and believe me, I’m no fan.
But I think the rolling out of the vaccine program has been much sooner than I expected, and much faster.
If they managed to vaccinate the whole country in a week, someone would find something to moan about.

Thank you for posting the latest update Peasblossom.

Blinko It comes from betting circles, where people talk about getting inside knowledge from the trainer etc. In other words, get as close to the source (the horse) as possible.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 12-Jan-21 13:17:26

Those criticising my post have not understood what I meant.

I was trying to find an explanation for the apparent ignoring this thread and yet continuing on other threads by repeating the more sensationalist stuff etc.

My explanation was that because if the clear distrust in the government this may be the reason why people are not attracted to this thread.

Peasblossom Tue 12-Jan-21 13:19:12

Oh yes I see what you mean. Should have thought of a catchier title?

Peasblossom Tue 12-Jan-21 13:20:35

That’s me, dull as ditchwater?

BlueSky Tue 12-Jan-21 13:20:36

Thanks Peasblossom very informative.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 12-Jan-21 13:24:22

Repeating the fact that the U.K. is seeing such difficulties in the NHS because of the lack of decision in the autumn, is not spreading doom and gloom it is spreading fact. You might not agree with what the NHS leader who said this, but I suspect that he is a much better position to understand the reason that the nhs is in such difficulties.

So then I go back to the fact that trust in the governments ability to manage the situation is very low, which may be the reason people turn off when they read a thread that headlines “government plans”

Not at all!! There is nothing wrong with the title.

Very interesting read and surprisingly clear! My OH and I are 5th and 6th on the priority list. Pity they can’t deliver it on sugar lumps like the polio vaccine! I’m concerned about my son’s pregnant partner as they live in London. They are a sensible pair and sticking to the rules.

Too many people seem to assume that BJ lies in the bath every night reaching all these conclusions based on his GCE in biology. He’s the mouthpiece of the appointed experts and is passing on their findings. He’s not set out to make life more difficult than it needs to be but trying to do what’s best for the population as a whole so sometimes individual needs are unable to be met.

I would not be happy if one of my daughters brought him home as a potential life partner but that goes for 99% of politicians of all varieties. He’s in a horrendous position and all the negativity being showered on him must add to the huge burden. Seems to be the bitter Remainers still grinding their dull axes ad infinitum.

Alegrias1 Tue 12-Jan-21 13:38:06

Aw, Kamiso, that was going so well until the last line :-)

I'm a bitter Remainer and I think Johnson is a waste of space.

However he is not running the vaccine program and that seems to be going well, which is something for us all to celebrate. Continuing to characterise people by their attitude to the EU, not so much.

Kamiso Assuming that your son's pregnant partner is under 50, it's going to be some time before it's her turn to be vaccinated. By then, she might very well have had the baby. I'm afraid she's going to have to be even more careful than most pregnant ladies are.

IMO Johnson doesn't set out to make life more difficult - quite the opposite! He needs to toughen up and make some difficult decisions. He seems far too bothered about what people think of him.

Peasblossom Tue 12-Jan-21 13:41:03

Someone give me a better title and I’ll repost it. I really, really think it would remove a lot of the anxiety and misunderstanding that’s on other vaccine threads.

Im trying to be helpful?
