I'm looking forward to it too! Although some things I've read in the press seem to be hinting that they are going for the full Tudor effect with the lighting!

I've read Wolf Hall, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but have not yet read "Bring up the Bodies".

My sister has just telephone to ask how excited I am. I told very very very. I'm so looking forward to it. I have my Cosy dressing gown on. Gin& tonic or beer (haven't made up my mind yet) at the ready.

Your beer will have gone flat by the time it starts, Kiora, and if you start on the gin too early, you will have fallen asleep!

Book was wonderful. They can't mess with history - can they?

Doesn't everyone mess with history? Lucy Worsley thought it wasn't completely accurate, but is still looking forward to watching it.

It is a novel though not a historical documentary so you have to allow an element of suspended disbelief, but after the fiasco of the Tudors, The BBC will have to prove their grasp of historical accuracy. We shall see- love Mark Rylance anyway, he can do no wrong for me, I loved his Richard Iii!

P.S. I loved both books too.

I hope, as they say it will, that the series remains faithful to the excellent books. Hilary Mantell seems to be satisfied with it. I was not going to watch it tonight, as DH is out and it is being taped for him, but I don't think I'll be able to resist as I have looked forward to it so much. Large glass of red too, as I am not providing a taxi service this evening!

The S.O. tells me that there have been complaints about the fact that the characters 'have perfect teeth which they wouldn'tve had back then'. What will people find to complain about next? It will have to be good to lure me away from Game of Thrones though.

Let's hope it doesn't disappoint. I've given up getting excited about BBC drama.

I am very excited and looking forward to this. Reading the book at the moment and have already read Bring up the Bodies. I know it was the wrong way round but we all know what happens to Anne Boleyn and it doesn't spoil my enjoyment of all the intrigue and skulduggery of the Tudo court. Recording it to watch tomorrow with DH who is out and DD who has gone to bed tired. So tomorrow evening shall watch it with mug of mulled wine to get in the mood. .....

Sorry if this is a daft question but what was the significance of the title. I read the book, which I enjoyed (it was a bit long) but can't recall what or where Wolf Hall was.

It is the seat of the Seymour family (I think) which is Henry's next port of call - as it were.

jings; I'm working my way through the box set. Series 4 is on dvd in February and series 5 on satellite tv in the spring. I'm loving it.

I haven't read the book but I did watch it tonight.

I must admit to not being particularly hooked but I appreciate it is perhaps unfair to judge too quickly. I still see Henry 8th as Brody from Homeland

Can I ask those who have read the book , do you think the book is better from what you have viewed so far?

I think the books are better but then I usually do. I did enjoy it tonight but was it my imagination or did the actors sometimes mumble? My hearing is not of the best but I couldn't always make out what they were saying. Did anyone else have the same problem?

I was about to ask the same POGS [I haven't read the book either]. I need to rewatch it as the phone rang part way through, but I did find it a bit slow and I thought Anne Boleyn [I assume it was her] was lacking in charisma.

Not; I find that a lot of the time these days with programmes but I struggled to hear some of it also.
