Still on the subject of not cooking do you ever have a take away ?

I live in London and no is the answer. I have fish and chips from the local shop but rarely.
There is only one local Indian restaurant which does edible takeaways- most, including Chinese, have been rubbish so I do not bother.

Never, these days. I don't live near one. But I used to love the occasional take-away curry. I could just eat one right now!

Pre pandemic we hadn't had a take away but then we lived within walking distance from very good Indian restaurants (we were near Leicester where here were even more}. Several of those delivered during lockdown and we had one or two. Since moving here 18 months ago we have had 2 but they weren't very good so we don't plan to have any more. We have found a very good modern Indian restaurant in a nearby small town so we might go there occasionally. Essentially I find takeaways are too high in bad fats and salt for us so its down to me and what I can conjure up in the kitchen.

We used to love a chinese about once every couple of months,but the last two we ordered they gave us different orders,so stopped and since covid we havent bothered to otder another one.

Fish and chips very occasionally, not had any other takeaway for years.

Yes, regularly. I don’t like cooking at all, and I’d rather eat freshly prepared takeaway food than ready meals from the supermarket, which are often full of additives. I check the hygiene ratings of the takeaway, and as long as it gets a five we’re good to go.

Yes we have takeaways, and will continue to do so if the budget allows, we get them from the same place, know the owners, watch the chefs cook it, spotless kitchen , fantastic reviews, phone up,drive down, pick up, a couple of times a month, love a Chinese takeaway

Friend has regular Sunday order with local pub who do really good Sunday Lunches. She phones them asking what’s available then collects in the large sealable container she keeps there.
So the best takeaway I’ve had, was from her local pub.
Lamb.
Parsnip
Baked potatoes
Dark greens
Brussels sprouts.
Baby boiled potatoes
Gravy made with meat juices and Lidl meat gravy powder
Beautiful meal

I have one delivered most Fridays, sometimes fish and chips, sometimes a burger, always with a salad.

I feel there can’t be many people who have never had a takeaway fish and chips for example or those with grandchildren the odd burger or chicken and chips We have that maybe once a year but we do have Shawarma about twice a month during the summer.
For those who have not encountered this, chicken and lamb are spit roasted on a vertical rotisserie with the well cooked outer layer being shaved off and put into a freshly made Arab bread with lots of salad and topped with sauces then rolled up tight in aluminium foil. Absolutely delicious.

Yeppers at least once a week.
We also go out for lunches on occasions

I had a very rare Chinese take away a few months ago and, because it's such a rare treat for me, I'd been really looking forward to it, but it was just inedible. Far too salty and just seemed a gloopy, inedible mess, that was a complete waste of money. I tried a take away fish and chips last week, again a rare treat because it's so expensive now. Fish was in a soggy lump of pallid batter that I had to scrape off, and the chips were greasy and limp. It will be a long time before I bother again.

We ordered pizzas when our cooker broke down on holiday recently. They were horrible - never again!

Always too salty and I never feel right the next day. We did have fish & chips sometimes but now begrudge the price.

I'd love to have fish & chips if there was a nearby chippy!

Esspee I like lamb shawarma but haven't had it for ages.

The only recent takeaways I've had are a hot meatball wrap from Pret, and Nepalese street food from a stall near St Paul's Cathedral.

Very rarely. A few weeks ago a new fish and chip shop opened nearby so we tried it. DH was horrified at the cost. I don't think we'll be doing that very often!

Yes, every 2/3 months, we have an excellent Indian that delivers and a great chippy. We share a large cod and small chips £8 and live on the outskirts of a town.

No never for ourselves but often when we stay with AC.

Very few takeaway places here. If there is one its usually pizza. We do have a lady who makes delicious curries and side dishes. She has various drop off points, usually supermarket car parks where she delivers them chilled and we can freeze them. There used to be a few mobile fish and chip vendors who had specific days for visiting each village but they have all gone now.

Rarely a takeaway. Sometimes a "ready meal" from the shops, but that's all.

We had delicious fish and chips at the coast yesterday. When we have friends round there are 3 couples and we order Chinese and Indian but it’s not very often. We eat out once a week. This week it’s Italian.

Fish and chips only for me. Wasn't allowed to eat them outdoors as a child (common apparently!). Never had a ready meal delivered.

Yes, finances permitting.
But then I never go out for meal.

I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had a takeaway ?
My daughter has her McDonald delivered at lunchtime. She works from home.
Sometimes she has to do a night shift ( she is dealing with people all over the world) she has all sorts delivered at odd hours.
