They are nearly all doing it essppee= I think Mand S Iceland and Tesco were the first ones Morrison’s and Asda have now caught up

How is one expected to know the special opening times (the one for senior citizens applies to me) if it is not publicised?

Can anybody kindly provide a list?

What about those of us who are trying to shop for elderly parents ? My dad and his neighbours can’t shop for themselves. I was almost made to feel like a monster by a fellow shopper yesterday when I took 2 small brown loaves from the shelf in Morrisons . Neither of which were for me .

I agree Gillybob with you. I cycled 6 miles this morning to the small shop my bread had mould on it today was getting one for me one for over the road an old man. The old man in front took the last two loafs, two large milks, two papers and umpteen euro lottery at about 85 years of age. Fuming

Some old people are panic buying too. In the shop an old lady wanted to squeeze past me with shopping trolley full breaking the 1m rule.

I was asked by a neighbour why I bothered going out for 1 loaf of bread- it was all I needed- we do not all strip the shelves on entering a store.

I bet they are Guineagirl . Greed and selfishness have no age limits .

How could anyone live with themselves knowing that their greed might have denied someone else even the very basics? What is it about some people in this country?

Sainsbury have just emailed me to say they can distinquish customers over the age of seventy who will be given priority on slots for home delivery. About time.

People need to be careful, some people are buying for the elderly and are taking flack for that, and it is not fair.
On the one hand Goverment are saying buy for neighbours and the vunerable in the community but when people do they get abuse

Charleygirl agreed one loaf when needed isn’t stripping totally agree. Hubbie says some elderly are the panickers and I’m not young btw. I have to risk going out for fresh supplies but seeing him buying the lottery tickets amazed me. There are good and bad in all ages and it does annoy me and makes me feel guilty being under 65 that I am able to cycle for it in the first place but I’ve stayed healthy by cycling 80 miles upwards per week since I hit 54 I’m so frightened I aren’t allowed as I never visit gp as my heat rate blood pressure is all very low due to cycling and it upsets me that I might have to stop when people aren’t adhering to the distance rule. I. Cycle rurally and don’t see a sole it would really harm me not doing it plus my depression would take hold again. Sorry I needed to rant.

Exactly rafichagan my dad would starve if I didn’t shop for him . I’m also shopping for a couple of his neighbours too . I tried calling SS’s last week as I was very worried about them . As of yesterday they have had no contact .

So “no” not well done Morrisons at all . They would have done far better stopping the shelf stripping in the first place . I watched people with trolleys piled high with beer and wine yesterday . But profits come first eh?

My GS is in food productions for Morrisons and is working hard to get food ready for their shelves and M&S' s too as they supply quite a lot of foodstuff for both.
Morrisons are advertising for staff to help with deliveries. It's a better company than others as it's family owned.

I wouldn't dream of giving him a " shopping list " of supplies needed----he's too busy, yet I could have done if I'd belonged to the vulture family, and got 10% off too !
I doubt he even thinks to bring anything home to his mum.

It'll be three weeks this coming Wednesday since I did a shop and the 'fridge is looking a bit thin. Milk will last a couple more days, 2 eggs left, 1 being used today for pud. butter coming to the end, bread is a few days old now ( yuk ) 2 days of crumpets , oh heck.

Normally I'd be off to Asda next week armed with my list and to me now, this is proving to be very frustrating.
Yes, I still have the local shops but have to buy Lurpak in a block as opposed to a spreadable tub, eggs are usually from caged birds---a bit to consider, horrible wrapped bread.

I'm going to look for a farm that delivers.

I would normally take my dad for a big Asda shop on a Friday and sometimes a few bits on a Tuesday too (depending on my circumstances) I normally shop on a Sunday for ourselves. This last 2 weeks I have just been popping into Morrison’s (near my work) or Asda trying to get bits of whatever I can for everyone (including a couple of my dads neighbours) .

We have very few independent shops here in this town. No butchers or fruit and veg shops left. So it’s the supermarket or nothing I’m afraid.

No well done to any supermarket from me. Anything they do is too little, too late, badly planned executed. Their profits are going through the ceiling and they’ve had weeks to organise a proper online delivery system. Think about the data analysts and logistic people they employ.

When this is all over, I hope there’s a COVID — 19 windfall tax on all businesses that saw soaring profits because of it.

All these comments of course are aimed at the CEOs and directors not staff in shops

When your shift NHS starts at 7, or 7.30 am like many staff early opening hours not useful, the NHS should give there staff a free hot meal if they are working long hours.

Not well done for Mortisons -i was in there Saturday, not only no toilet rolls or kitchen paper, soap, bleach, cleaning spray, but no fresh fruit, or veg only a few lettuce, not one potato even, no canned veg or pulses or tins/packets of tomatoes, no frozen veg or chips, no day to day breakfast cereals, no rice, or baby milk, I heard someone ask a staff member when more was coming in he said we have the stock but no time to put it out - there was one young lad putting out bread working in very slow motion, no other people even attempting to stock. Like me there were bewildered pensioners just wanting a normal shop of necessities, and probably like me had been there several times before and left empty handed. We have been needlessly exposed to crowds for nothing, and still no mention of a pensioners hour.
Even though it’s further, I will be going to Tesco from now on Mon, Weds, Fri first hour 9am? for pensioners only ( Tues, Thurs for NHS staff).

I must admit I am buying a little more than usual. My DH has MS and a compromised immune system. I don't want to shop too often because of this. I want to keep him safe. I'm planning to hopefully shop every 3/4 weeks.. I hope that all panic buyers have got all they need now and things can calm down a little. Stay safe x

Not checked other comments but huge THANKS to Sainbury's . They are going to same, Opening 1/2 hour before just for NHS - they need to take ID,

The its an hour for at risk groups. MONDAY WEDNESDAY FRIDAY. need to take ID.

Vulnerable groups need to contact Sainsbury and register their details and get dedicated help.

We need online deliveries for heavens sake - it’s not rocket science as to why

I had an email from M and S. First hour of trading Monday and Thursday is for elderly people.
I think Monday Wednesday and Friday 9 till 10 for Tesco, BUT not entirely sure about this . Perhaps someone else can confirm.

Doesn’t anyone else want online deliveries? From tomorrow 1.4 extremely vulnerable people have been told in no uncertain terms to self isolate ie no going shopping for one thing.
