Can anyone recommend a really effective cleaner for the inside of my large electric oven?

I so so don't want to have to scrub-a-dub-dub (much or at all) as I loathe hard domestic work. I know it's shameful but if there are any easy peasy ways forward....much appreciated!

I think they are called Ovenu and cost around £80 depending on the size of your cooker grin

Mr Muscle is good!

Thanks! Ovenu chap came several years ago but now the company doesn't cover us.

If Mr Muscle's really really good...hey ho!

Oven Pride is fantastic, makes cleaning the oven almost enjoyable! It includes a big sealable bag for the shelves, to which I add my enamel baking tins too. Leave overnight and rinse with absolutely no effort or smell!

That sounds A1, shysal smile

I'm another who swears by Oven Pride. It just lifts the dirt off without any real hard work and I love the idea of soaking the racks and trays in a bag of the liquid.

Oven Pride....i have moved 17 times and its advent was a game changer for me!

After reading this I will buy oven pride....thanks

Why not look on YouTube? The answers to many domestic (and non-domestic) problems are there. Take your pick...home-made remedies or carcinogenic commercial alternatives.

I pay £50 to Ovencleaners to come and clean my two ovens! Well worth it. Usually once a year sometimes twice.
They do shelves and take apart the glass doors. It may go up to £60 this year - but still well worth it! Simples as the meerkats say!

I like the sound of having a professional oven cleaning company in, but I too am a great fan of Oven Pride.
For those of us like myself who are hard up, the £1 shop does their own version, containing the same chemicals and it’s just as effective!

Always use Oven Pride. No scrubbing! Paint it on and wipe off with all the dirt. Magic!

Lakeland do an oven cleaner called 'Oven Mate' I think - it's a gel that you just brush on (brush comes with it) and leave. Then it's time for a coffee and the paper. Depending on how appalling the oven is you might have to have two cups. Then wipe off with kitchen paper and hey presto! I also have one of their big blue trays (like a giant cat litter tray) and soak the racks and other bits and pieces in very hot soda water. A metal scourer gets everything off with absolutely no effort whatsoever - again just a wipe. About ten minutes effort from you - and not much elbow grease either - can see a showroom type oven again.

My DiL buys a product in which all shelves and removable bits go into a special polythene bag and the cleaning solution also goes in said bag and is then sealed up for few hours or overnight. Don,t know the name of this though or what happens to the parts that are not removable. I make a thick paste of lemon juice and bicarb of soda and apply this to a cold oven, sometimes need more than one coat depending on how long between cleans!! Shelves easy to clean using a metallic covered oblong shape pad.. bought in packs of three ..using same lemon juice/ bicarb. paste.

Look for a local company who will do it for you.

widgeon3 Wed 02-May-18 13:12:15

'Oven pride 'again is my recommendation

GrannyParker Wed 02-May-18 13:17:23

Oven Mate from Lakeland. It’s a gel that you paint on, you get the kit including the brush and gloves, for heavy debris leave overnight and wash off, you won’t believe the results.

I use it on roasting tins too, they can be black with burnt on grease and this brings them back to shiny new condition, it costs 12.99 and one bottle would easily do your oven. I swear by it.

shysal Wed 02-May-18 13:33:48

Oven Pride is under £4, from all supermarkets.

123kitty Wed 02-May-18 14:06:11

Annually I get mine cleaned professionally, it's worth paying for.

Tokyojo3 Wed 02-May-18 15:06:37

Clean an oven myself? Not likely! A professional oven cleaning service will clean it far better than you or I. Treat yourself!

sweetpea Wed 02-May-18 15:16:35

Definitely the Oven Mate range from Lakeland, even better if it's on discount! Can anyone recommend a good product for cleaning glass shower enclosures (for a hard water area)? ?
