This week I parted with cash ( well actually cashless transactions but the moths flew just the same ! )
I bought three fabulous items - the spider catcher from Aldis , Diabetic Friendly socks from Aldis and the wee spiralizer from Morrisons . What fun and comfort I've had - do I need to get out more ??

Ooops. Another chunk of cash on grandson last night. Winter clothes this time.

I’ve ordered a set of 3 small wine glasses.
Have just realised wine glasses have got larger and larger! A glass each and not much left in the bottle ?

I’m hoping the ‘70’s sized ones will be a psychological shift and we will sip instead of slurp ?

tiredoldwoman, it's quite amazing, the number of things I've suddenly 'needed' lately - with far too much time on my hands and access to online shopping.

I must deal with the resulting mountain of cardboard boxes in the garage soon!

I lashed out on a bag of pegs and didn’t really need them!
Oh the frivolity! What next?

Just ordered an Open Sesame, it's a gadget which (they say) opens bottles, jars, yogurt pots and even crisp packets. Let's hope it works as my arthritic fingers are failing me.

Bought some brushed cotton pyjamas and slippers for DH from M&S on line as I had 15% off. Bought myself some slippers as well whilst I was about it. Also bought 3 small picture frames as I’m planning to make some pressed flower pictures. Some small flowers and leaves from the garden are pressed and ready to go! Hopefully, want the pictures to look quite contemporary and minimalist with just one sprig in each picture. Nothing too twee. My excitement knows no bounds!

Well the dishwasher died yesterday. Smoke filled the kitchen. DH had a look inside but it is all sealed. So off to the dump with it. I have seen a very nice Swedish one which is £500. Do I just go for it? We haven’t spent much money this year.

MamaCaz many thanks for the info?

MamaCaz Sun 27-Sep-20 17:49:09

Wooden? That was 200cm when I typed it,

Nannylovesshopping

That is a great price for a weighted blanket MamaCaz may I ask where you got that from, many thanks ?

I got it on Amazon, Nanny
The one I got was Brentfords king sized (its actual size is 150cm x wooden, so in between single and double duvet sizes) - but I have just looked rnowight and it eight pounds more expensive today, though the next size down hasn't gone up in price!!! I know it was still the same price I paid yesterday, because DS was looking at them hmm

I'm awaiting a new...dishrack/drainer thingy. Should be delivered this afternoon between 3 and 5 pm...can you feel my mounting excitement as the minutes tick by? I'm like a coiled springgrin...

A few days ago I splashed out on a weighted blanket.
Actually, it was more of a ripple than a splash, because the one I ordered was a great price, at only £26, and had good reviews !

I've fancied one ever since they were mentioned here on Gansnet some time ago, as some grans said that they helped them to sleep better.
I researched them at the time, and saw that people who suffer from anxiety, insomnia, and even restless legs, often find these help, though others just love the comforting weight and way they 'hug' you, and use them while sitting on the sofa.
Anyway, tempted as I was, especially as I never sleep well and , and often get restless legs, no way could I justify getting one on the off-chance it might help me once I'd seen how expensive they were.

My blanket arrived two days ago, and I absolutely love it ?

I am not sure bit relieves my restless legs, but that aside it is great. It feels soooo cosy, and the extra weight really does seem to make me sleep better. Plus, while I had feared it might make my nightime overheating even worse, it seems to have done the opposite. Two nights so far, and far less sweating than I've had for years.
I'm one very happy sleeping bunny smile

Trying to shop on H&M.ch but for some reason the clothes on the Swiss site aren't as nice as the UK clothes.

Nothing wrong with navy Mrs Rochester.
I dyed boring garden cushions raspberry in spring?
These pods make dyeing so much easier than the method I used in the sixties. ?

MrsRochester Sun 27-Sep-20 11:33:56

Not guilty Kalu, I ordered boring old navy for a boring old sofa ?

Kalu Sun 27-Sep-20 11:32:33

Mrs Rochester I ordered the last two Chartreuse pods and have received a message the order cannot be fulfilled now?
No idea what I was going to dye but I love the colour.

MrsRochester Sun 27-Sep-20 11:25:24

4, yes 4, Dylon pods. Going for a lie down now.

Kalu Sun 27-Sep-20 11:25:23

As it seems we will be having garden visits only with DD1 and the girls in much colder days I lost the plot for a moment when I started looking at heated over blankets?. Ridiculous idea, I bought a fire pit and some toasting forks for marshmallows/sausages and cleaned out flasks to fill with hot chocolate.

Amazon must be watching me as during my search a reminder of the last purchase of Alpaca wool came up which reminded me I promised to crochet a throw for DD1 months ago so I have now ordered her choice of colours, charcoal and cream for my next project. How thoughtful of Amazon to remind me!?

Bellanonna Sun 27-Sep-20 11:24:07

? well done Niobe !

Niobe Sun 27-Sep-20 10:26:25

Some time ago I bought a plastic, domed plate cover to use in the microwave cost me £1 in a Pound shop. However I never remember to use it in the microwave but it did prove very useful when we had son, DiL and GS round for a barbecue. Kept the flies off the food beautifully. Yesterday I bought 6 more but this time from a 99p shop so that’s 6p saved!

MellowYellow Sun 27-Sep-20 09:33:58

I splashed out and bought some multi-coloured hairbands for £1 from a shop beginning with P. Didn't realise there were 60 in the pack!!! Will last me forever!

After looking for wallpaper for my lounge and kitchen I finally found what I wanted and bought the amount I needed only for the new rules to come in and my decorator can't come now to put it up for goodness knows how long.(hmm)

I thought workmen could still enter our locked down houses? I hope they can or my mother's recently flood damaged house will never be made habitable!

Auntieflo Sun 27-Sep-20 08:16:53

Urmstongran, I was skim reading and thought you had bought a new lead for your pencil grin

I went mad and bought a charity shop book, £1.00.
Ah but then wandering through the market, I did buy a Nandina, which I had been coveting. blush

Urmstongran Sun 27-Sep-20 07:59:55

I walked up into Arroyo de la Miel yesterday and went into the ‘Manzana’ (Apple) shop there to buy a new lead for my iPad.
