This week I parted with cash ( well actually cashless transactions but the moths flew just the same ! )
I bought three fabulous items - the spider catcher from Aldis , Diabetic Friendly socks from Aldis and the wee spiralizer from Morrisons . What fun and comfort I've had - do I need to get out more ??

I am just about to wild and order new measuring spoons and a bottle of Stags breath for no other reason than i want too grin

I splashed out on a new metal net curtain rod and it was delivered this morning. Yippee grin The old one has a bend in it and will probably snap if I try and straighten it, so I'm prepared now.

I'm about to buy a new kitchen bin, DH broke it ?
Have you seen the price of them?

I'm so excited. Not!!! grin

Marydoll I saw some nice bins in Tesco this week stainless steel and black rectangle shape they were very modern half price £14.00.

I was in Oxford today having my car serviced. So I had two hours to kill. I popped into John Lewis and saw that their sandals were on sale. What an opportunity, I thought, to buy a pair to put away for next Summer. Actually, I bought two pairs of identical leather sandals (One pair black, one pair maroon) in size four. Reduced from £65 to £19.50 a pair. Well I thought it was a bargain.

Oh, many thanks! My DD is going tomorrow, I will get her to have a look.

I splashed out on 8 balls of dk knitting yarn in Aldi yesterday. A nice rich cinnamon colour. No idea what I'm going to do with it but it looks very pretty sitting with all the other balls of unused yarn.

What about a vest Chewy, it's getting much colder now.

Witzend Fri 25-Sep-20 19:00:38

Chewbacca ?.

In the past 2 days I’ve ordered The Big Book of Knitting, mentioned on another thread, plus a Christmas book and various Christmas craft things for Gdcs. (Early but I was afraid of them selling out.)

What I really badly need is shoes, but I don’t have the easiest feet in the world and it’s such a wearying PITA trying to find any that are both perfectly comfortable from the word go, and don’t look like something for a 97 year old who’s past caring.

Damart, blimey, I associated them with grey haired grannies and here I am....2 thermal vests and thermal tights, don’t think I’ll ever be a style icon!!
But, I’ll be warm.

V3ra Fri 25-Sep-20 19:34:28

Today I've had a new food temperature probe delivered.
One of the minded boys used the old one to dig in the garden... ?

My last purchase was a potato peeler shaped like a potato ( it was the only one they had and I had lost mine). I know how to live! I’m thinking of splashing out on a new apple corer, but I will have to give it some thought.

I thought about buying a microwavable bowl but decided against it.

rubysong Fri 25-Sep-20 20:09:59

A lavatory brush and some clothes pegs. It's an exciting life I lead!

Callistemon Fri 25-Sep-20 20:12:33

A new lightbulb for the microwave
And I downloaded a free crochet pattern

Not pushing the boat out chez nous.

Callistemon Fri 25-Sep-20 20:14:27

I could crochet those vests, Marydoll, if only I had enough string.

Willow500 Fri 25-Sep-20 20:15:44

I bought 5 mattress bags for moving then the removal company told me they supply them! hmm

I haven't got any cinnamon coloured yarn, but I like the sound of it!

No, no, no, I mustn't.

Lexisgranny Fri 25-Sep-20 20:22:11

String vests always remind me of those awful thin nylon shirts when you could see the vest looking like the lattice pastry on top of a fruit pie.

Chewbacca Fri 25-Sep-20 20:22:59

A cinnamon knitted vest? hmm thanks Marydoll but I'll think of something else maybe!
I'm rather excited that I've got to go to a garden centre tomorrow (that sells an awful lot of tat) to buy a cowboy hat, chaps and waistcoat for DGS aged 3. Highlight of my week!

Marydoll Fri 25-Sep-20 20:24:51

Callistemon, I can help! I have plenty of string, of many colours and widths.
The vest would certainly be unique. wink

Chewbacca Fri 25-Sep-20 20:30:59

Be a bit uncomfortable around the sensitive bits Marydoll, especially when it gets cold. wink

Grannynannywanny Fri 25-Sep-20 20:32:13

Marydoll and bikergran I bought one of those bins in Tesco this week but have returned it. I didn’t realise till I came home that it has no inner bin. I felt it was going to be awkward to clean. I like to lift out the inner bin and give it a good slosh out with bleachy water. It would mean lifting the entire bin to empty water from it. The lid and pedal mechanism feels quite flimsy and I don’t think would last long . I’ve since seen several reviews saying it was broken within weeks.

Pity as it’s a nice bin. But maybe explains why it’s half price.

I like the sound of it too, a basket filled with it would look very cosy on the hearth ( pity that I don’t knit or crochet though.)?
