If we are not booked, we can plot to have four adjacent tables and gently, surreptitiously slide them towards one another over five minutes or so - I have seen this done before. ?

Is there not somewhere you can just book a table for 14? Would save worrying and hoping you can find tables you could push together.

How far from bus station please ?

Jane, it was supposed to be a coffee meet up just like the last one, not a meal. Sandwiches and toasties were available for those who wished to purchase something more substantial.
That made the Concert hall, a suitable venue, as it was close to the bus station.
Some people who are travelling a distance found that meeting for lunch was a bit tight for time.
Were you thinking of joining us?

To be honest, at the moment I don't feel up to organising a meal, venue, payment etc. My health is so unpredictable, I cannot rely on myself and wouldn't want to let people down..
Elegran makes a great job of it and I take my hat off to her, every Edinburgh meet up has been very enjoyable.

Feelingmyage, that's exactly what we did the last time. Poor Jangran had spread her things all over the cafe, by the time we arrived..

I wondered if anyone is lurking and would like to come, but is a bit shy about coming forward, thinking we all know each other and it may be a bit 'cliquey', we don't and it's not.
All are welcome.

Marydoll You are doing great so far - don't despair. You have a list of guests and a date, that's two-thirds of it done. We'll eat whatever is available, the crac is the main thing. Don't panic about paying, we'll just get our mathemetician (*Baggs*) to divide the final bill by 14 and then rake around in our handbags for our shares. Or maybe we'll all order separately and drive the staff to drink.

All we need now is the venue - have you asked at the concert hall whether we can book, or are we relying on it being all OK on the night day? If you are not yet in communication, or have already been blackballed, would you like me to put on my efficient hat (if it fits) and email them to ask, like an ignorant Edinburger?

PS The trickiest bit is finding a date that suits everyone.

If you Google Buchanan Bus Station that should give you the right place. You just have to cross Killermont Street to get to the Concert Hall.

I spoke to the Concert Hall catering people today, they don't reserve, but if I phone nearer the time, they will cordon off fourteen ( or more) seats.

Well done Marydoll - that would be perfect. Last time we were able just to get our own choice of eats when we arrived and that sorted out the question of payment. I will probably last to arrive again coming from the north but I see Feelingmyage55 may be attending as well.

Well done Marydoll. Timewise I’ll start the ball rolling. Some are coming quite a distance so how about 12:30 for 1:00. That would give the earlier arrivals time to buy food and save a queue of hungry Grans- a sight to strike terror into the bravest heart ?
