I am sorry to be watching this ' unravelling' news report .

I hope she will be OK. Her poor family.

It is being reported that 2 people have been shot and 2 stabbings but no police confirmation as yet. The area is on lock down at the moment and there is a Primary School in the vicinity .

I hope the gunman is caught soon.

I enjoyed the image as well Gracesgran. blush

I am a bad person. I left the comedy programme on - I have never seen it before and laughed out loud at a joke about Osborne and the Wicker Man. It was a very bad (not nice, unkind, almost stirring up hatred) joke but very funny. Can I ever be forgiven?

Gracesgran Wed 22-Jun-16 22:52:40

Paxman is innately rude. She did have a point to make but not a quick one sadly.

Anyone know when we have to go over to the filler programmes - midnight?

Granny2016 Wed 22-Jun-16 22:44:27

I share a birthday with Winston Churchill.

merlotgran Wed 22-Jun-16 22:40:31

Of course they are but they were talking about security.

durhamjen Wed 22-Jun-16 22:39:00

I thought Paxman and Julia Hartley Brewer were quite rude to her. She wasn't just talking about her music. She was talking about the arts as a whole, or would have done if she hadn't been so rudely shouted down by them.
Are the arts and music not important in this country?

Gracesgran Wed 22-Jun-16 22:34:36

She did seem a bit out of her depth (trying to be kind) Merlot

It's finished - when do they have to stop talking about it - until they start again after the result?

merlotgran Wed 22-Jun-16 22:11:16

Sandie Shaw has lost the plot grin

whitewave -
Those born under this sign have the social conscience needed to carry us into the new millennium. These folks are humanitarian, philanthropic and keenly interested in making the world a better place.
we need you

it was this bit:
he dawning of a new day -- and all of its possibilities -- is pure bliss to an Aries.

dramatictessa Wed 22-Jun-16 22:05:08

This thread is getting very surreal - and quite enjoyable!

Gracesgran Wed 22-Jun-16 22:02:07

Sheila Hancock has been particularly good on the debate (the last, thank goodness) on at the moment and their poll thing shot up.

whitewave Wed 22-Jun-16 22:00:39

I'm an Aquarian - haven't a clue what that personality is supposed to be.

durhamjen Wed 22-Jun-16 21:58:49

My birthday is the same day as Hitler's, Jalima. He was another one. My eldest granddaughter is one, too.
Hopefully my charm and charisma will win the day tomorrow, rather than Farage's.
One thing wrong, I would never ask kids I taught to do something I couldn't do myself. Still don't.

Jalima Wed 22-Jun-16 21:33:18

DGS is Aries too

Those who are not Aries need not read the following (although if you have an Aries OH, DC or DGC it could explain a lot (exhausting)
sorry djen grin
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and that's pretty much how those born under this sign see themselves: first. Aries are the leaders of the pack, first in line to get things going. Whether or not everything gets done is another question altogether, for an Aries prefers to initiate rather than to complete. Do you have a project needing a kick-start? Call an Aries, by all means. The leadership displayed by Aries is most impressive, so don't be surprised if they can rally the troops against seemingly insurmountable odds -- they have that kind of personal magnetism. An Aries won't shy away from new ground, either. Those born under this sign are often called the pioneers of the zodiac, and it's their fearless trek into the unknown that often wins the day. Aries is a bundle of energy and dynamism, kind of like a Pied Piper, leading people along with its charm and charisma. The dawning of a new day -- and all of its possibilities -- is pure bliss to an Aries.

sounds a bit ominous if that is Farage

durhamjen Wed 22-Jun-16 21:18:07

Thanks, Jalima, that's my sign as well. Apart from that, we have nothing in common.

Jalima Wed 22-Jun-16 21:14:40

Farage is a Cancer
No, I think his star sign is Aries

In my opinion (which some posters may ridicule, that's their prerogative) is that when if Remain win, Boris will shake hands with DC, say 'well done, old chap, best of luck in your future dealings with the EU'.

rosesarered Wed 22-Jun-16 20:54:01

I would like to think so Granny2016 but know that it won't be so.However, one thing is for sure,it couldn't get much worse( crosses fingers .)

Ana Wed 22-Jun-16 20:04:52

For once, I agree with you whitewave.

whitewave Wed 22-Jun-16 19:53:24

Don't hold your breath g16

Granny2016 Wed 22-Jun-16 19:49:35

I have been on Gnet for just a few weeks, but it became apparent very quickly, that a sprinkling of posters are quite belittling in the way they address others, particularly on the political threads.
Being Sagittarian I see it as a challenge to respond and enjoy doing so,but I do wince when I see comments akin to chastising a naughty child, rather than addressing an equal .

Hopefully, when the EU furore has died down,we can be a little more cordial.

Thank goodness for the likes of Jo Cox who understood the ridiculous compulsion for partisan politics.

Anniebach Wed 22-Jun-16 10:40:05

Did you merlot? Yet you brought him into a post referring to the far right of the Tory party ?
