I dont actually know anything about him. But I think that a person who set up Momentum with apparent such success, needs to be talked about.

obieone Tue 09-Aug-16 10:08:49

Thanks Anniebach too.

Anniebach Tue 09-Aug-16 10:16:54

It's Corbyns new , kinder politics at work obieone , Daphne is an example of it

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 10:23:49

Thanks a bunch aniebach. Not even a Labour supporter, but your knd words have really brightened up my day.
Now nigglynellie would you just point out fir me the question posed in the original post? I seem to have missed it, confused

Just for information

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 10:30:04

Well now, I didn't know iam64 worked for the Labour Party.
Isn't that breaching anonymity?
How do you come by this insider information??

Anniebach Tue 09-Aug-16 11:03:41

Iam said she canvassed for the party , this is working fir the party, I am secretary of our local branch, I telephone cavassed, I knock doors, I stand at country show stands with a table promoting the party, i donate , this too is working for the party

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 11:13:37

Does donating or canvassing either in person or by phone give one insights into the Labour Party big guns then?

nigglynellie Tue 09-Aug-16 12:20:43

If you feel interested in somebody and want to find out more about them then starting a discussion on the subject is bound to lead to questions, which is exactly what the opening post was inviting, quite properly, for those who are interested. I'm not a Labour supporter either, but I take an interest in political parties other than the one I support, and at times agree with them. For me, nothing is written in stone, and I am always happy to listen to other points of view which can often be interesting and informative. Everyone is allowed their ideas and opinions, and others can disagree, and agree to disagree, without being unpleasant. We're all thoughtful adults and really should be able to discuss our politics in a thoughtful adult way.

nigglynellie Tue 09-Aug-16 12:23:04

I'm interested in my grandson learning the guitar, but I'm not intrigued by it!

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 12:48:37

Hang on, surely a civil question as posed by obieone in her original and subsequent posts deserves a civil answer

Nope, still haven't spotted the civil question

Anniebach Tue 09-Aug-16 12:57:13

Try it Daphne, you may be surprised

nigglynellie Tue 09-Aug-16 13:03:23

Well, you can certainly spot the disrespectful reply!!

petra Tue 09-Aug-16 13:07:55

She didn't ask a question, she stated that Jonathan Lansman needs to be talked about, almost dictatorial. I'll decide who I 'need' to know about.

Anniebach Tue 09-Aug-16 13:22:10

Petra, surely a suggestion not almost dictatorial ?

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 13:43:09

Well if Jon Lansman needs to be talked about I cede the floor to anybody who wants to Obieone and invite her to talk about him.

nigglynellie Tue 09-Aug-16 13:46:17

Oh for heaven's sake, nothing even remotely dictatorial, it was just an innocuous comment/query, however you want to view it that people could join in or not as they saw fit. No one was making you join in petra in any shape or form, so no need to ruffle your feathers!

daphnedill Tue 09-Aug-16 14:14:16

Well, I know a little bit more about Jon Lansman than I did this morning. This interview in the Statesman is quite interesting...

www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk/2016/05/jon-lansman-interview-theres-no-leader-who-would-find-it-easier-win-jeremy

PS. I don't think I like him very much (but maybe that's just me).

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 14:18:24

A would-be "eminence grise" or Warwick the Kingmaker?

Anniebach Tue 09-Aug-16 14:24:36

He does tend to contradict himself

daphnedill Tue 09-Aug-16 15:17:10

Very much a 'would be' (but not sure what) and he's certainly 'gris'. hmm

obieone Tue 09-Aug-16 15:20:44

Anyone who rarely gives interviews, and is yet very influential needs a close look at.

dramatictessa Tue 09-Aug-16 15:38:17

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. All political leaders have people working behind the scenes. And the conspiracy theory about mandatory reelection is yet to be proved.

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 16:47:48

This is interesting.

DaphneBroon Tue 09-Aug-16 18:20:10

Maybe the consensus is that JL doesn't need to be talked about after all. Hardly riveting hmm

obieone Tue 09-Aug-16 18:32:25

Sounds like he is deliberately secretive. So he definitely needs to be talked about.

I wonder if people are frightened of him?
