I see the EU Remainers' PROJECT FEAR is alive and well.

I look forward to us leaving the EU.

The scare-mongering Remainers write post after post predicting how awful it will be. (Yes, predicting...)

Anyone would think we were incapable of knowing right from wrong and desperately in need of Brussels to guide us, to make our laws, to impose trading tariffs, generally control us, tell us who we have to accept into the country and take BILLIONS from us for the privilege of that control.

Project Fear - we have recognised it.

We need to get on with leaving the EU, pronto, but Remainers delight in the delays, mostly caused by terrified EU officials worried about EU budgets and the UK forging ahead without it's stranglehold.

Optimism rules. Let's bin Project Fear. We see it for what it is.

What a pity that the Brexiteers had no idea at all or no plans at all for how to actually leave - and somehow it’s all the Remainers fault? You couldn’t make it up could you?

whitewave Thu 23-Nov-17 18:06:11

day your op would have been more convincing if you were able to point out why we are wrong and show evidence to underline your argument.

Just saying I am moaning to much says nothing, except that I moan too much

maryeliza54 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:07:44

Except of course the Brexiteers do and did make it all up

Day6 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:13:41

well, Leaving the EU IS a whole new kettle of fish.

No one imagined freeing ourselves from the multi-layered political stranglehold that is the EU WOULD be easy. Who said it would be straightforward? No one. (This is the EU we are dealing with, after all.)

Juncker et al are proving just how they hate us breaking away. The spite, the threats and the demands for yet more money, just to talk (BILLIONS more) reinforces our sensible decision to get out.

The long drawn out process will be worth it.

whitewave Thu 23-Nov-17 18:16:12

That is not what I asked you day that is just a rant.

Tell me how the U.K. is going to be economically better

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:16:13

It certainly will, we are well rid of it all.

whitewave Thu 23-Nov-17 18:17:27

lemon perhaps you can explain how the U.K. will benefit economically

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:19:23

We are going to be better off in many ways, and although the deficit is still large and the EU will take as much as they can, it may take a few years but then we will put money into whatever needs it here in the UK for the benefit of the UK.

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:20:51

Since at that point, no money will be going to the EU, we will be financially doing ok.I don’t know what some are so scared of!

maryeliza54 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:21:01

Of course we are lemon <head tilt>

whitewave Thu 23-Nov-17 18:22:37

In what ways lemon?

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:28:09

Spending our own money on UK projects is not the only reason to leave the EU, but it’s a good one, and even if things are difficult in the short term it will be worth it IMHO.

whitewave Thu 23-Nov-17 18:29:40

Is that it!!

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:29:45

You won’t be convinced of course, nor am I convinced by your wanting to stay within the EU.

Day6 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:31:52

"your op would have been more convincing if you were able to point out why we are wrong and show evidence to underline your argument."

There aren't enough hours in the day...and, it must be said, you Remainers trot out the old 'tell us why' argument to Brexiteers time after time after time, as though you are stuck in a stinking EU lavatory. It's a flipping echo chamber.

Would we don't like being controlled by Brussels and paying lots of money for the privilege of being controlled do for starters? No? Thought not.

You like giving BILLIONS of taxpayers money to Brussels do you?

For a start there are a few reasons in the OP, but I also firmly believe the left wing of British politics should be firmly fighting to get us out if they truly want to represent the poorest people of the UK. Leaving the EU is a socialist cause.

The EU relies on a fluid, nomadic workforce, on freedom of movement to ensure workers take anything offered, at the lowest rates. We have seen this in the UK building trade/construction industry already. The man or woman who'll do the job for the lowest wage gets it. Our service industries are full of people who'll work for a pittance. The welfare state is beginning to aid mean (and wealthy) bosses by topping up wages with benefits That is criminal.

It's a capitalist scheme which makes bosses rich, keeps wages low and feeds austerity .

No wonder so many wealthy business people and politicians are desperate to cling to this EU gravy train. The man on the street is deemed 'thick' and 'unknowing'.

The one good thing Cameron did was to allow the people their say on the EU. The referendum result was a wake up call to the liberals and quasi-socialists everywhere who could pat their cheap foreign nannies on the head whilst paying her buttons and leave their Notting Hill spreads for Tuscany and their cheap Italian cheese and wine.
In the meantime a boss laughs as he takes on a worker for less than a living wage and gets rich quick.

That's a start.

Politicians have failed to listen to the people affected most by the power of the EU. That is changing - all over Europe.

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:34:29

What do you want whitewave I am not a politician or an economist and actually neither are you.
It has been gone over and gone over, time and again on this subject, But actually plenty of politicians and economists do agree that leaving will be better for the UK, just as other politicians and economists would have liked to remain.
I happen to think that we will do well, and you take the opposite view.
Fair enough.

suzied Thu 23-Nov-17 18:37:36

No one imagined freeing ourselves from the multi-layered political stranglehold that is the EU WOULD be easy. Who said it would be straightforward? No one. (This is the EU we are dealing with, after all.)
Yes the Brexit campaign DID say it would be easy. I listened to a Brexit campaigner, a Tory minister, who said it could be negotiated over a cup of tea and be really simple, it was replayed on the radio last week. Another one said we could “write our requirements on the back of a fag packet”.

suzied Thu 23-Nov-17 18:38:20

This was before the referendum of course.

Day6 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:40:25

That is not what I asked you day that is just a rant.

Tell me how the U.K. is going to be economically better

Ha ha ha ha ha......at it again Whitewave. It's becoming familiar.

Why don't YOU justify us staying put and paying BILLIONS for the privilege of Brussels control?

Hey look Leavers....look at the way Remainers demand a political thesis from Leavers rather than accept leaving the EU was what the UK voted to do.

Have you noticed that tack?

No one asks us to give reasons WHY at voting time Whitewave. No one has to justify their vote. Ever.

Oh, and we ALL got a vote. All of us.

It's called democracy you know.....

Welshwife Thu 23-Nov-17 18:40:35

It is illegal to pay less than the minimum wage - so no one should be working for less money whether a Brit or an EU national. Do you have proof that this is happening?

Wages are going down whatever job it is - and have been for a good number of years.

Day6 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:44:28

lemongrove. I happen to think that we will do well, and you take the opposite view. Fair enough.

You know *Lemon, that is what it all boils down to.

Project Fear Remainers cannot accept our views and our feelings are as valid as theirs.

But of course, they are much cleverer than we are.... ahem. grin

lemongrove Thu 23-Nov-17 18:45:25

Maybe that’s why Corbyn wants us out of the EU , being in it has depressed workers wages.
It’s the only thing that I agree with him on.

suzied Thu 23-Nov-17 18:45:31

Well we are paying billions for the privilege of leaving and living standards are going down as a result . Marvellous. You’ve won. You’ve won a lucky dip in a cat litter tray.

Day6 Thu 23-Nov-17 18:48:33

Do you have proof that this is happening?

Oh...another Remainer tactic.

Do you have proof?

Ha ha ha ha ha.. You want a wage-slip? grin

You Project fear merchants are becoming very transparent.

Better get HQ to think up a few more moves.

I leave it to investigative journos to unearth the facts. It's amazing that when we talk about UK minimum wages and a poor standard of living most of the Remainers are up in arms. If the EU is reinforcing it, it is swept under the carpet.

Double standards.
